  1. Well....the heat on him would be if he knew this was a common occurrence and he simply said "dont do it to MY girlfriend". But we dont know if he knew. If he thought it was just about his girlfriend, then he did what most guys would do. And I think most guys would treat it as an isolated thing and move on. The problem is, with hindsight, so many people look bad. And they deserve to wear that. But there was probably a lot of men too, that were fearful of reprisal from a VERY powerful figure, so they look the other way, or have "private" conversations where they tell him to knock it off. For example, Rose McGowen claims that after her settlement with HW, Affleck was surprised and said he told Harvey to stop doing that. Which tell us 1) Ben knew 2) he thought HE could make Harvey stop 3) he thought Harvey stopped 4) he knew he didnt stop. The people that really didnt give a **** were the ones at the top of Miramax and The Weinstein Company. Clearly they all knew and they let it keep happening to protect/preserve their pal/brother and their company. They fired him because it became public, not because he did it.
  2. I dont get the reference....? Because Pitt knew about the behavior towards Paltrow? or that he also acted inappropriately? Without knowing what Pitt knew, he stood up for his girlfriend as most of us would do and likely considered it a dead subject at that point.
  3. At least Ben owned it quickly. The problem is, he likely knew about HW's behavior and had some of his own. But if he says nothing, its conspicuous. So he does and gets called out. But he apologized. I mean...there's probably a lot of guys re-examining their behavior today
  4. There's probably many Hollywood guys who are hoping their names dont come up now...
  5. Actually now that I think about it more, Luke could be talking about Rey. if he's the one that hid her away because of her power. And potentially used a Jedi Mind Trick to make her forget.
  6. The only thing I dont like about that is, since Luke saw Vader, Yoda, Obi Wan and Palpatine (not to mention himself), that its sort of akin to Starkiller Base being bigger & badder version of the Death Star - Kylo is a bigger and badder version of every other force user. Which doesnt make sense from what we know of Anakin (and Palpatine). Kylo got whooped in a fight by an untrained Rey.
  7. Good grief. Yes. Im saying that earlier in the day 1290 played a clip of Maurice saying he was considering a D change based on "health and play". It doesnt matter if he later said he made a change based on sorcery and witchcraft. He still said what he said earlier. I heard it. It was very brief in an exchange with a reporter. No one is suggesting a conspiracy theory. Just stating facts.
  8. The Klingons in TNG were very different from the Klingons in TOS and even the TOS films. We are seeing a snapshot of certain Klingons. Since Enterprise is canon and we know there is a Klingon homeworld, we can assume there is some limited government. They dont have 100 houses. They have 24 so there is respect for that structure. There is a relationship between the houses. We can assume that the houses will come together more formally (or stay together since they have said they are united during war) and remain that way, give or take. Even in TNG time, there was a lot of conflict and intrigue among the Kilingon government. In fact, same with TOS films (they conspired to kill their own Chancellor to maintain a war footing with the Federation). I dont think Discovery Klingons are acting out of character from what we've seen or what we know. The "honor" thing in TNG was a bit over-stated since we saw Klingons act dishonorably many times. Worf was raised by humans and came from a disgraced Klingon house. So he idealized Klingon culture and essentially represented the best of what Klingons claimed to be.
  9. Its also entirely possible that he was referring to two different players. ie. Health (Buff) and play (someone else). Meaning, had Buff been healthy, he'd have scratched someone else to let Poolman play. I dont think there is a grand conspiracy. I do think if we were at a more critical part of the season, Buff probably plays. Having Poolman here made it easy to let Buff heal up.
  10. All I can tell you is I heard it. It was either "health and poor play" or "health and play" with the inference being unhappiness with the quality of play of the D.
  11. Except, as I mentioned, Maurice himself said if Poolman played it was due to "injury and poor play". He didnt specify that he meant both applied to the same player. But one can draw that inference.
  12. I think next year they are ok. year after gets interesting. Morrissey wont be an issue as he's RFA even though he's good, he's not "Trouba Good". He might get $2 million on a shorter deal. Jets will have $22 million in cap space UFA's: Matthias, Hendricks, Hutch, Toby RFA's: Morrissey, Trouba, Lowry, Armia, Dano, Petan, Tanev, Poolman, Helle Even if Trouba got $8 million, you have $16 Million left. You can sign who you want, I think. The following year you have Wheeler, Laine and Myers. So you have to get a bit creative but you have Mason coming off the books. Someone is probably going to have to be traded. Buff will be into his Modified No Trade so moving him out (assuming you've signed Trouba long term) probably isnt a terrible idea at that point).
  13. Myers is a high end player. He'll be fine. And at his salary, he's really solid. What we need to do, to ensure our D moving forward, is get Trouba to a long term contract. He's our #1. Everyone else works themselves out after that. If Kulikov keeps playing like he did last game, it would make that signing a great one. He was a good D man before his injury. Returning to form is what they expect so hopefully its happening.
  14. I thought I saw chatter that he was in Minnesota so the story of "he left town" would be a HUGE story if he did so instead of practicing. But Maurice also said Buff took the pre-game skate (would be easy to verify by people seeing him there) and "couldn't go". So probably nothing.
  15. Seems much ado then. The chatter was akin to the "track suit story" which I dont get here. By all accounts its a minor injury...so he's supposed to sit at home on his day off? Hmmm One thing I heard 1290 talking about yesterday (Kevin O or whatever his name is) was Buff being hurt. But they seem to forget that Maurice said (clip was played ON 1290) before the game that if there was a change that resulted in Poolman playing it would be due to "health and poor play". Or something like that. I think the Jets are going with the "injury" story but they cant change that the HC said bad play was a factor.
  16. Neville walked on WWE right before RAW saying he quit. I assume he's under contract so he can't just quit but he can go home and wait out his deal. He's a super, super talent. Not sure why he's unhappy but might be related to having to stand aside for Enzo (who isnt very good in the ring) and Kalisto. EDIT: Now conflicting reports over whether he asked for his release/quit or "nothing happened". Something definitely happened as the Enzo match was abruptly changed right before RAW from beating Neville to losing to Kalisto. Neville would have a lot of value on the indies and with every promotion that likes good workers (TNA, ROH, New Japan). He was a Triple H guy (was put over for the NXT Championship early on).
  17. Bray is transgendered now. I guess. lol Shane has balls. And is a heck of an athlete, especially at his age. That was a LONG match and wrestling cardio is something else from regular treadmill cardio. The stunts are well planned though. Ofcourse, he has to hit his target or its a bad scenario.
  18. Whats this story on Buff? I keep seeing it being alluded to online but cant find any actual details... ?
  19. That's an intriguing idea. Sometimes I think we over-think aspects. But in TFA when Kylo is speaking to Vader's helmet, he says "tell me again, Grandfather..." which implies he's spoken to him already. One thought is if he commiserates with the sith ghost of Vader but its an illusion created by Snoke/The Dark Side. And the light side Anakin eventually comes through and shows Kylo the true price of the dark side..the torment at what he's done. A lot of speculation over what Luke meant in the trailer when he says he's only seen this much raw strength once before and wasnt scared then... in ESB (I think), he tells Yoda he isn't afraid of the Dark Side/confronting Vader. Yoda replies that he will be. So if there are cinematic themes between the trilogies, then the thing he was not afraid of before but is now should be the Dark Side, specifically relating to his father. Ie. either Palpatine or simply the Dark Side in general, but he speaks about seeing raw strength, which is pretty specific. Is it Vader, is it Palpatine?
  20. I agree. They spiced it together to create a red herring. Rey is dressed in her early outfit for the end scene "with" Kylo. And Snoke is talking about or to Rey. They want us to assume the one he found was Kylo because that makes sense. But its not Kylo. Its Rey. And I think he's using Kylo to get to Rey maybe... So in the end, we have a similar Luke story in Rey turning down the dark side offer but we have a larger Anakin story in Kylo being redeemed. Actually its really just a replay of the original trilogy. lol The one thing I hope, they dont kill Luke. If its about the Skywalker family, then he must survive and ride off into the sunset. But I WOULD like to see some force ghosts of the past like Anakin, Qui Gon, Obi Wan etc.
  21. Well considering I quoted someone who wrote '"analyze the game on TV" and asked for clarification (who wasn't you). I think the discussion was going in a perfectly polite direction.
  22. You're owley today. Try reading the entire post and discussion and not cherry pick.
  23. Yes and wasnt very good if I recall. What I stated was a veteran not getting back in because the rookie was better. Oh, and Ill add a "WTF" just to sound more determined. lol My point (in case you mised it) was us talking about Buff and, would he go back in when healthy even if Poolman plays well.
  24. On the ice, you mean? Cause there are a million people that make their living as hockey insiders and analysts who never played pro but cultivated knowledge and sources over time. EDIT: ok, not a million.... ;-)
