  1. Thats the story. Not confirmed. But the mechanics would be a blade job beforehand and then using second skin or nu skin or whatever its called, to patch it. Then Owens hits him enough to open the "fake skin" and thus, you gush. Flair used to do it too, less flashy. He'd actually blade and just put a white bandage on it so it was barely contained. And then come out and cut a promo so fiery that he'd smack the cut a couple of times and it would gush. Regarding Vince, when watching it I assumed it was a shoot hardway. But listening to others, it was framed for blood. ie. they close up shot it etc. Looked great. utterly stupid though.
  2. If so, I hope we get some killer pieces for him, win the cup and he never does. Just because... haha
  3. I literally had no idea you needed a permit for this. Im super NOT handy. But I've sort of changes fixtures and outlets (under the supervision of my dad).
  4. Yeah. Wab's bigger issue is his claim the woman lied. Now that she has come forward and reiterated what happened, it changes the debate from "people can change" to "Wab's a liar". Now other NDP'ers are being put in the position to say "yes, I always believe women who are victims of violence...but in this case, Im with Wab". yikes.
  5. Jets still have cap space. They have Toby's $5.7 off the books next year. That's Ehlers right there. Wheeler has two years left and if he wants to stay probably signs for little more than Little. Little took less now than he could have in Free Agency so we have to consider it a win. If his last two years are spent as the 3RW, so what. He can also be traded if need be. What if we're playoff contenders til Little is 35, is it worth it then? Cause if we let him go, we were screwed.
  6. At least they seem to be taking it seriously. Im glad to hear Mike Johnson has been ruled out. I was not a fan. Nice guy, but Hnidy was really good.
  7. Considering what they got for Kane, Chevy would have to try really hard to get garbage for Trouba in a trade. He's still an RFA after next season so his options are limited to 1) not playing for awhile 2) hoping the Jets get bored of playing the game and trade him 3) he decides that every reason given for wanting a trade before is actually true and since they've been satisfied, he signed a long term contract. Im betting on 3.
  8. Th chatter on 1290 from Day One at training camp is that Buff looks to be in tremendous shape. Trouba was asked if they had contract talks during the off season and he said "yes briefly but they didnt go anywhere".
  9. Hutch was the problem more than Helle. Bishop would have provided the break Helle needed. Id rather have Mason than Bishop. Just thinking about short term options last year, is all.
  10. Yeah, he will play one more year of junior and then be Moose-bound.
  11. Chevy was asked about signing Ehlers and Laine and be basically blew it off saying those guys are RFA's. But looking ahead. Next year's projected salary for the Jets currently is: $46.5 million. Their UFA's are: Mathias ($2.12 million), Hendricks ($700,000), Toby ($5.7), Hutch ($1.1) RFA's are: Lowry, Armia, Ehlers, Dano, Tanev, Helle, Sgarbosa, Trouba, Morrissey, Based on today's cap, Jets are forecast to have $28 million in cap space. I see no critical UFA's. And of the 4, the Jets should be able to bring back whomever they might want. Worse case scenario, they walk away from Toby. Of the RFAs, Trouba is the big ticket item and the one who might be the issue. Let's say Jets pay him, what $8 million a year, just for fun. That still leaves $20 million in Cap space. Ehlers gets $5. own to $15 million. Between the others, Jets will be fine. The following year we start getting antsy. You have Wheeler, Myers, Laine, Mason. I suspect Laine gets paid, Wheeler signs a "fair" deal to stay (if we're winning). Myers might get traded and who knows on Mason. We're definitely becoming a "cap" team in the next 2=3 years. However, if we WIN, we look to be able to keep the core intact for years.
  12. If I recall, we could have had Bishop cheap for the rest of the season. I might have made that move. But for sure, it was tough to do deals last season.
  13. I think people get caught up in offensive numbers. If Stanley plays a physical game, is responsible in his own end and never scores a goal? So what. Its that pass out of the zone you want him to be able to make. And thats the criticism I've seen from scouts is that he has to make quicker decisions, but has improved on the "first pass" aspect. Has to keep getting better to play every day in the NHL though. But his size and mobility is definitely something worth spending time developing.
  14. I do find them expensive. Although I think I paid full price only once, for our iMac. And it was after frustration over years of PC use. In the time we've had the iMac and ZERO issues, we probably went through 4 PC's in the previous years. iPhones...well, my current 7 I paid the most for as I bought it last year (I previously had a 5 and it was banged up) But still you get a bit of a deal by signing a contract. iPad, I got a deal through work. Macbook, my parents had an extra and gave it to me. So for the price I personally paid for most things, I enjoy it. Although I havent really used the ipad much. Its just a bigger iphone. My i7 is in great shape so I wouldnt even be a potential customer for a year. I think for many people, we dont *want* to spend top dollar. But if you're looking at needing a new smart phone, why not get the best or close to the best and latest product...
  15. That's sort of what I mean. Chevy provided talent but when they went down or under performed he didn't address it. It's a strategy I suppose. Bur by Christmas we knew we needed help on D and in net.
  16. Chickens might be coming home to rooste for Wab
  17. If he only dips in his final year I'd suggest that makes it the perfect contract.
  18. Both. I don't usually fall for jump scares but they got me a few times. And plenty of creepy scenes too. It's genuinely a good scary movie. And I normally don't care for scary movies because they aren't scary. This is a good one.
  19. He was hurt the last two seasons as goalie said. But prior to that was very consistently healthy. So I won't hang "injury prone " on him yet.
  20. Yeah it's weird. Like whatever he is today is all he is? Jets took him right around where he was forecast to be taken. Jets liked him and wanted him. Down the road we can decide if that was good or not. But he would not have been there much longer. Plus jets already had a pretty decent pick in the first round so could afford to gamble a bit more with this pick. It was not an off the board pick at all. And it sounds like the player is exactly what he was scouted to be. Big with low offensive skills and "vision" issues. Has improved mobility which is good. Now he will either learn and develop or not.
  21. No one is comparing the players. Just comparing the silly histeria of writing off a player this early. LOL
  22. Chevy let Maurice down last year. I think that's where the pressure is from. But from an on paper, everyone healthy perspective, it's hard to argue the Jets should be competitive. And chevy went out and filled holes this off season. So it's on Maurice now.
  23. This might be unpopular but I don't see this as a safety concern. I see it as a revenue concern.
