  1. Twitter exploding. People are shocked.
  2. CNN and I weree on the same page lol CNN's senior legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin, was not buying the idea that Comey was sacked over the Clinton investigation, saying it was "absurd." Toobin branded the move a "grotesque abuse of power by the President of the United States." "This is not something that is within the American political tradition," Toobin said, comparing the sacking of Comey to President Richard Nixon's firing of special prospector Archibald Cox during the Watergate scandal.
  3. Also is this like the Saturday Night Massacre when nixon fired people to head of his own downfall? Is the FBI a bit too close to indictments? This won't play well.
  4. He fires him because he didn't charge Clinton? Let's see how his feelings on charges change when it's him in the cross hairs. Plus the guy handed Trump the election. What a thank you.
  5. I would imagine the Patriots have insurance that covers paying out a dead players contract.
  6. He had a down year but his career stats are better than anything we have. Question is, was last year an aberration or the beginning of the end? 31 is too early for the end, I'd say. And he'd be called upon to be a steady veteran 1B. Unfortunately he is getting paid $5 million per year for 5 more years. So it won't happen unless NJ ate half that salary and even then the term is too long.
  7. I think Tessier mentioned it in a blog today so people were talking about it. It was a blog about trading the 13th overall and dove tailed into how Jersey traded for Corey etc.
  8. Ive seen chatter about this. Its not terrible. If they idea is a veteran back up for two seasons. Supposedly he didn't like Winnipeg though.
  9. As noted: Thats interesting as they still have two other goalies under contract for next yeah, no?
  10. The speculation being that he knew that and thus his contract would not be voided and thus his daughter would get his money.
  11. Id say you're half right. Pushing guys at WM who are either not there after (Goldberg, Undertaker) and guys who are part time (Brock, Hunter, Shane), how can they not expect the viewership to drop then the guys you've pushed the hardest aren't there? Brock stopped meaning a lot for ratings awhile ago because of how he was booked. Joe is one of the more unique guys who should be pushed even harder. There was a record ratings shift when Mick Foley won the World Title, hardly an example of physical fitness so the idea fans don't want to see fat guys is completely wrong. Daniel Bryan was super over as was Shawn Michaels in his day, rendering the argument that small guys cant draw an incorrect perspective also. Its simple. Its the booking.
  12. RAW ratings continue to tank. There is the feeling being a taped show this week hurt it but that has never been the case before (taped vs live never made much of a difference even in the "WAR" years). And I'd argue the expected hot and rowdy UK audience always makes for an interesting show but that wasnt a draw at all here. Vince is fiddling while Rome burns. When will they make changes? Raw fell to yet another non-football season and non-holiday record modern low last night with 2.68 million viewers for the show in London. The audience dropped six percent over the previous low mark set last week of 2.86 million viewers. The last time Raw numbers were at this point outside of football season was 1997, when it went head-to-head with Nitro.
  13. If it was a 180 it was back in the direction of Nicholson's gangster nutjob. And as good of an actor as Leto is, he doesnt have Nicholson's gravitas.
  14. I have to agree. I like Leto but I just didnt like this Joker. Ill give it another chance when he's not shoe-horned in. I liked Harley Quinn. I didnt find Joker to be either scary or tough or smart. Nicholson's Joker was tough with a hint of crazy which made him unpredictable and scary. Heath's was like a petty crook but brilliant even though he played it down and came across cowardly in some ways, making him dangerous. Leto's just seemed like a nerdy drug addict who took cosplay a bit too far. I think the true way to reinvent Joker after Heath's death would have been to move away from the clown make up and hair, at least initially. Although in the DC film universe, their idea is to not start at the beginning, but to plop down into this Superhero world that has existed for years (which was a mistake in my opinion).
  15. My gf once did a Hot Yoga challenge where she went every day for 30 days. I dont know how she did it. But she was toned as **** after.
  16. Makes the $6 mill per for Scheif look better all the time. Isles really have to go all in and offer 8 years if they want to keep him.
  17. I never did see the original Blade Runner. Might have to pick it up.
  18. Wasnt it just a couple of games ago they were showing Pens scoring on Holtby glove side? They always find the weak spot and then it changes. Its hard to beat a desperate team with talent. They play looser. Lets hope Pens close this out!
  19. One of the people (a co-worker) who I didnt know until I brought it up last week who did it said the same thing, She said it definitely worked, she lost 60+ lbs. But she was always hungry and she went in and said "Im so hungry" and they told her to pills they provide should alleviate that but it wasnt working for her. I think the key things are that they are relentless about daily weigh ins so its like having someone constantly reminding you to follow the program and there is a "shame/guilt" component. If you did a regular low caloric plan and someone was calling you every single day and seeing you every single day and making you get on a scale every day, you'd probably be more inclined to stick with it until you just couldnt anymore.
  20. From my research I certainly have found people who claim to live the low carb lifestyle forever. But in most cases we're talking people who needed to lose weight so they begin low carbs and as they hit their goals they become more liberal with the carbs. So to me the idea isnt you NEVER have carbs. Although certainly people do survive on low carbs. And in most cases, these arent athletes. So we cant really take any health plan and say "well, but that doesnt work if you're really pushing yourself athletically" because people pushing themselves athletically likely dont need specific plans for fat loss.
  21. Since we're all stakeholders in the Bombers, my concern would be if this league suffers financially and becomes a burden. Im not a huge soccer fan but I like this idea. The questions will come when its revealed how much cash was required initially and how much cash is required consistently and if it produces a return. On one hand, I understand the feeling that the publicly-owned Bombers should not be funding potentially risky ventures but on the other, if they feel its a worthy investment and it creates additional revenue, then its a great idea. If True North was involved I'd feel better from the perspective of their expertise in sports/event planning and marketing (not to mention their unlimited supply of money). But its not critical they are. It would just make me feel 100% excited about this rather then 90%.
  22. Well considering the Bombers couldnt organize transportation to IGF without True North stepping in to tell them how, I'd say TN brings a lot to the table. They also do concerts together with TN as the promoter.
