Im genuinely surprised to see an argument in favour of the US as the Policemen of the World in 2017. Im not wholly against the idea but the politics of the world have changed. We'd basically have to accept the US as morally justified friendly dictators spreading their band of democracy everywhere. It doesnt work though. North Korea should be China's problem and the world community should lean on China to deal with it. Or, dont we have some black ops programs to deal with these things? Assassinate the little weasel and be done with it.

I haven't seen Split but I guess M.Night is back in Hollywood's good graces. Generally I cant stand him. One trick pony.

Im suppose Trump could attack NK without consideration to modern views of war where you try to limit causalities. He could decimate the country and its people. But whatever they do, they have to eliminate NK's ability to do anything. And they have to eliminate that first. Its not that NK will deal a counter blow to the US but as Mark quotes above, they will decimate South Korea. Is that acceptable? And if you decimate North Korea, what does China do? And if they can detonate a nuke and are crazy enough to do it, is that also an acceptable end result?

The White House invited the entire Senate to hear a briefing on North Korea. Sounds like a build up to military action...

Sorry, yes I meant "what ban" as a question to Trump and his pals who went out of their way to say it was not a ban.

I didn't watch raw this week. They really need to change their entire booking philosophy. from Observer: Raw last night fell to a near record low mark with 3.00 million viewers. It would have been the lowest number since football season ended, and the fourth lowest number since 1997 for a show that didn't go head-to-head with football. The three shows that did worse were against a blockbuster NBA playoff game and the two weeks against the 2016 Olympics. The audience dropped 10 percent from last week and last week had a stronger NBA game head-to-head.

I think the rambling and switching subjects is indicative of a guy in over his head. He's used to always having an answer. When talking business or entertainment, he can lean on certain knowledge and buzz words. But now he's talking subjects he doesnt understand and being asked questions by people who know more than he does. He's covering it up. And the fact he's still doing it means he's surrounded by the wrong advisers or not taking their advice.

That sounds great. I was really intrigued by Robert's story in Braveheart.

IT makes sense that the writers want a better deal due to the changing landscape in television. You have a plethora of series with much shorter seasons now. And while its easy to say that someone writing 13 episodes should get paid less than someone writing 20, the trend has seen those shorter seasons be more critically acclaimed and potentially generate more revenue. Writers should be paid accordingly. But there is a lot of money at stake. I think they resolve it. I recall when the film writers went on strike, Star Trek was filming and they said they couldnt even do alternate takes that altered a word in the script. it was basically locked so the usual creativity that happens during filming wasnt there. I imagine its the same for TV. So if TWD, for example (and Star Trek is another) begins filming the episodes already written, they will not be able to make many changes to the written word. Hopefully it is resolved.

Saw some twitter rumblings about people not going to Vacation in the US in protest. Not sure if that would ever catch on or if it would matter. But saw some people saying the Dakota's are hurting due to lack of Canadian tourists. I can see Canadians staying away due to the low dollar more so than an ideological protest. But the dollar i probably going to keep sinking. But hey, Justin wouldn't let Trump pull his arm so he's a national hero and thats all that matters.

I must have missed where anyone said it was okay for a woman to hit a man. People stretching here to provide reasoning for "equal violence". yikes. Dont hit women. period. You want to expand the conversation to "dont hit men"? go head. But really, a woman hits a man and "dont hit women" still applies.
