  1. If all things are equal, go D. But if there is a forward who jumps off the page at the Jets' spot, then take the best player. Trade him for a D who can help now or use him as a package for help now. Or keep him in the pipeline and trade a forward you can lose now for D help now.
  2. Im not even sure I can remember my TV schedule...lol Monday: RAW (gf doesnt like anymore so we usually catch up on the PVR and I watch RAW on FF before bed) Tuesday: The New Girl (occasionally Smackdown) Wednesday: Goldbergs, Modern Family, SVU, Designated Survivor, Mindy Project Thursday: Nothing Friday: Dateline, Blue Bloods Saturday: Nothing Sunday: The Walking Dead, Crashing, Big Little Lies, The Good Fight And I often PVR Young and the Restless but dont always watch (same with Dr Phil, just to have something on the PVR for when Im bored). When they air: Game of Thrones, The Affair, OITNB, House of Cards....probably forgetting some.
  3. Goldbergs is great. "Sweeter" than many sitcoms now as it doesnt have sexual situations at all. The gimmick is that the creator based the show on his own life and the episodes are based on real events he filmed as a film-junkie in the 80's when he was a kid. So they often show real home video or photos from his life that relate to the episode. And occasionally the real life version of a character will cameo. For example, the series is narrated by the youngest sibling (like The Wonder Years). Last night, the episode was about him meeting a girl with similar interests and going to her junior prom. During the episode the girl's mother appeared. At the end, they showed a photo the real life creator with the real life girl at the prom and the real life girl, now grown up, played the girl's mother in the episode. Its sometimes absurd. But plays the 80's stuff pretty straight and has a sweetness to it that is pretty emotionally fulfilling at the end.
  4. I cant stand the traditional format anymore with the laugh track etc. bleh. So unfunny especially when they pipe in fake laughs. The moc doc takes getting used to. I didnt like the office at first. In fact, I didnt even bother giving it a second try until I started a new job and everyone talked about it the day after. The Winnipeg episode was airing so I watched and started to love it. Although they really screwed the pooch on the Winnipeg episode. Do a little research. Hell, film HERE. Anyway... Modern Family is really funny although I find its been crossing into being a little too absurd at times. But its a tremendous cast. Goldbergs is maybe my favourite right now. That guy gets the 80's. Apparently there is a spin off coming about the 90's.
  5. I gave Time After Time a shot as it was based on a Nick Meyer movie from years ago. But it didnt hold my interest. A good time travel show could work though. Just need the right idea. Like a Quantum Leap revival...
  6. If they were in it would make sense to announce it to get some potential fence sitters to buy. The argument would be that everyone who wants to watch WM is going to already and Hardy's wont add extra. Plus the surprise is always better. But WWE often doesn't do surprises. They usually promote an appearance (or "leak" it to a friendly media which is the same thing). Im with you, I'd have them in. They work ROH on Saturday for the tag titles and everyone there do a good job of convincing people they were in long term so that would be another reason why WWE wouldnt announce them and screw ROH. Supposedly they really want to do the "Broken" gimmick. We'll see if they call TNA's bluff or work something out.
  7. They're as good as in. Not sure when but passed their physicals and were offered contracts.
  8. Meh young kid playing in the K. Can always use young big kids with upside.
  9. Yeah I agree. It's great but awkward for players and teams to a degree. Very very surprised Nhl would do it. I think it adds pressure to teams to make moves in a way. Definitely ups the fan involvement in the expansion draft. Great move
  10. She was funny on The Office (and they seemed to miss her as a writer when she left). I didnt even consider your premise of non-generic, non white hipster whatever. But the fact she isnt white would never occur to me as a reason to dislike the series either. Usually I wouldnt be into shows that require a certain absurdity rather then reality but the jokes are funny, the characters are great. The only character I hated was the doctor that moved to Texas...didnt like him at all. Garret Dillahunt in particular is tremendous.
  11. Strongly disagree. Its hilarious. So not the same cookie cutter sitcom stuff. Really really funny.
  12. when can we expect this kid. 20 years old. 6'4" 196 lbs. centre. Described as large "with some skillful elements", plays physical.
  13. The people who said "we dont want a politician as President. We want someone who talks real"...well, sorry to burst your bubble but it should be no surprise that a political positions requires some politics (and diplomacy). Trump is out of his element. And lets not even pretend that Trump is actively the master of his admin anyway. He spends so much time doing other things, like golfing, that he's leaving it to his lieutenants that are corrupt. And they dont care about blowback because it's Trump who is going to be painted as a failure, not them. Remember when W was the example of a "poor President"? Yowza.
  14. I can understand why Sony went with a young Spiderman, especially as they essentially re-boot and tie in with Marvel. If all goes according to plan, you'll get the older Spiderman eventually. The idea that Stark sort of holds Peter back makes sense. Hopefully they explain why the Avengers arent there to handle these "smaller" issues. Presumably, they cant be the police responding to every cat in a tree scenario. Spiderman dealing with smaller problems in New York as he cuts his teeth is an interesting story.
  15. A friend of mine played goalie in his youth so he sort of focuses more on that position and he said at the beginning of the season (before Helle struggled) that Helle was terrible and would never be a legitimate #1. His reasoning was that while Helle is "big & boring" he doesnt move. And when he tries to move, he makes it even worse. My friend said he'd tell Helle to just stand still because at least some pucks would just hit him. He's basically a pylon standing there. Friend thinks Hutch is better because he's more athletic. I find Helle really doesn't move much. Even when he's on his knees with a rebound in front, he basically bears down and hopes it hits him. On the flip side of that is Pavs who is very athletic and flipping and flopping all over because he's not positionally great so he has to use athletics to make saves. Helle is the opposite. But practically immobile. Plays too far into his net for a goalie that cant react fast enough. Obviously we have no idea what takes place in his coaching sessions, but Helle is getting worse. Thats why Im so hot about Flaherty. Other teams go through coaches looking for the right mix for their goalies, not change goalies til you find the right one for your coach.
  16. Whats interesting is, Rick Ralph had a scout on (I think it was yesterday). I missed most of the conversation so I dont know who the scout was. But on his draft list, he had Patrick falling to #2. It was also indicated that Cody Glass is rising, with the insinuation that maybe he could rise into the equation for top pick.
  17. Jets really need to find a way to protect more forwards. Either get Toby to waive or expose Myers and get Vegas to pass him by.
  18. There will be a critical mass eventually where its assumed people are carrying and someone will reach into their pocket and get blown away only to realize they werent carrying. Perhaps enough instances like that will have people reconsider the insanity of arming everyone. I was at the Minnesota State Fair a couple years ago and while walking through some clothing kiosks we all found it amusing that so many items had inside pockets specifically designed for concealing firearms.
