  1. seems to take a lot of pleasure in the idea of a health care plan collapsing that would be awful for millions of people too and they couldn't create a better plan. If only they had someone who was really good at negotiating deals.
  2. He's a libertarian who has been active in his community and done some appearances talking politics. He's a smart guy.
  3. So they pulled the bill. Trump blames the democrats even though it was his own party that wouldn't vote for it. And now he claims he didn't even really like it. This guy is so insecure it's hilarious.
  4. I saw the aftermath but not the slash. But the "tapping" on the hands is absolutely ridiculous and needs to go. But I bet Crosby takes those slashes as much as anyone. Hard to blame him for dishing a few back (well, we SHOULD blame him as we should blame all the players for doing it but until the NHL decides to punish players for it, then broken hands, broken fingers, torn fingertips etc will be the norm).
  5. Check back in a few years to see if Stanley was a wasted pick. By the way, had the Jets not taken him, someone else was going to waste their pick on him shortly thereafter as he went right around where he was predicted to go. Trouba would be the most sought after D man if he was UFA or the Jets offered him in a trade so not sure how Trouba being really really good is an example of poor D. Myers is a bonafide top 4 D (top 2 on many teams) who was the most sought after player at the deadline when the Jets got him. Would be much sought after should the Jets decide to trade him. Myers being injured and needing surgery is a difficult thing to hang on Chevy and the Jets unless Chevy took a crowbar to Myers' groin in the parking lot. Im as frustrated as you. But not to the extent I'd make wildly inaccurate claims.
  6. You might be onto something. if we can arm enough of the American class that is less educated and suffering despair, perhaps we can eventually hit a critical mass where they simply kill each other off.
  7. police have insurance. Car came out a lot better than the idiot who tried to kill cops.
  8. Thats a good point. On one of the goals in particular last night I thought he was too far back. I dont usually notice things like that but it stuck out to me. But that hand isnt just low, its immobile.
  9. I assume he has. I assume he's not been able to succeed. So either Helle cant be fixed or the coach cant fix him. I'd rather try a new coach before giving up on the player.
  10. From Tulsa: police run over and kill woman shooting at them. Crazy
  11. This is really interesting. We all know the Inquirer isn't credible but Trump considers it to be and is close friends with the guy who runs it. So they are throwing Flynn under the bus just as they are distancing from Manafort. Indictments coming?
  12. I know. I was confused as to why you mentioned it during a discussion about guns. ;-)
  13. Maybe. But other teams, when they are developing a goalie, have made changes at coach to find the right coach for their goalie, not keep changing goalie to find the right one for their coach. Helle's weaknesses are obvious. So maybe he just sucks and cant learn. But his issues have manifested since being in the NHL and he's regressed. Just like other Jets' goalies. We've seen other teams and other goalies who rave about a new goalie coach coming in and/or credit a specific coach with helping them. I think its nuts that we havent made changes in the staff to try and get the most out of the players we have. If getting rid of Flaherty makes us worse then it implies that position IS critical. If he has no bearing, then its nothing lost in trying. If Flaherty is here next season, the Jets management just isnt trying. And Maurice should be asked specifically about this.
  14. because they dont have enough guns, obviously.
  15. We should settle our differences with duels.
  16. Again, silly premise. Do the people getting mowed down by cars wish they had bigger cars? I've been shot at once and a second time a guy went into his trunk I thought it was a gun (fortunately just a nail-studded bat). Neither time did I wish I had a gun. I wished (and hoped) the other guy didnt. More and more guns. Bigger and bigger gun. Never solves the problem. Someone wanting to kill you is not going to be dissuaded because some nuts also carry guns. In many of these cases, the end game is suicide anyway. They wouldnt care. All it does is arm MORE people and lead to more gun violence.
  17. Helle has shown enough not to give up on him. If the Jets insist on keeping Nice Guy Flaherty then they might as well bite the bullet and try and bring in Carey Price because they'll need it. Helle has regressed. Hutch has regressed. And Pavs had one season where he got better and every other season was at least equally poor if not regressed. What is the common denominator? Flaherty.
  18. After Man of Steel and BvS, my optimism is near zero. DC's decision to catch up to Marvel by jumping right into JLA is goofy. However, I am optimistic for Wonder Woman.
  19. Silly premise. Guy with knife comes at you so you pull out your gun. The far right gun nuts would be appalled that a guy would have a knife to begin win. Guy comes at you with an assault rifle. Good luck with you pistol. Doesnt even come at you, picks you off from a distance. But that pistol will make you feel safe before the back of your head blows off. If you're in the middle of a gun fight you wont wish you also had a gun, you'll will you had gun control so you werent in the middle of a gun fight to begin with.
  20. Maybe they should force a goalie to sit in the box and vacate the goal for two minutes. That would certainly increase scoring!
  21. Finding a goalie that can compete for #1 and a goalie coach.
