  1. To me it doesnt fit the Jets culture and Toby has no reason to do it. But it would certainly make things a lot easier for the Jets.
  2. Put Buff on the Jets and he's a $7.6 million dollar pylon for 4 more years.
  3. If we got Patrick, you almost have to go full youth movement. And you have to take the best player, regardless of need, at that point. But then, like you said, you have to make other changes to improve areas of need. If they keep Buff as the old man on D, then trade Toby as well. Build D around Trouba and Morrissey. We have some young D coming up. But yeah, how does Wheeler and Little fit in when you need to find spots for Patrick...and Roslovic.
  4. Wait what? I though Jets were on everyone's no trade list, not trade list
  5. More movement on the goalie front it seems. I expect Pavs not to move (still injured) but maybe Chevy can work some magic with teams that dont get Halak. A few days ago the word was there was little to no market for goalies and today ive seen several reports saying the goalie interest is ramping up. Lawless giving more credence to the idea the Jets would ask Toby to waive his NMC to be exposed to Vegas (who would likely not take him). It would be nice if they could make a trade deal. If Im Toby Im more interested in waiving my NMC to go to, say, Pens right now, then to be left exposed to Vegas. Lawless also saying Jets wont take back picks or prospects. Meh, if a team will give you something for Toby right now, I'd do the deal and use those non-player assets for other deals.
  6. Yeah...I think the Jets are much better than they are showing (coaching being a big issue) so I think they can be a playoff team sooner rather than later and in that case, Buff is an asset that helps you. But if there is trade interest in him this summer for a significant return, I'd do it. If the coaching staff cant create a scenario where Buff's talent is taken advantage of, then lets be a more traditional NHL D led by Trouba.
  7. Whatever is going on with Buff is very disappointing. But Ill back to something I said a little while ago - Buff is the type of player that makes contending teams Cup winners. He's not a D man and any effort to make him a traditional D man isnt going to work. It removes whats great about him and puts a spotlight on what isnt. On this team, with poor D and even worse team D, his strengths just arent being used. I dont think his contract is untradeable at all because a lot of other teams would salivate over him. So I dont know if thats something the Jets consider or not.
  8. Snippets: The $127,200 cheque was confirmed by lawyer Robert Tapper who represents both Katz and former City of Winnipeg CAO Phil Sheegl. Tapper said Katz gave half the proceeds of the cheque to Sheegl. "I always said Sam Katz in office was, how did I put it politely, ethically challenged," said Thomas. "He just didn't seem to have a good sense of right and wrong in terms of ethical standards in public office." An estimated 10 to 12 cheques were issued by Caspian to Katz around 2013, including one for $30,000, according to allegations contained in an affidavit filed by RCMP Const. Marc Allard based on statements police received from company employees. Katz previously denied business dealings with Babakhanians
  9. Well it's a great game to remind chevy the jets should be sellers just in case he was thinking of doing something dumb. Not that they have any big pieces to sell. But get what you can.
  10. You're right. On paper jets are way better. So chevy better sign trouba long term. And either make Maurice fire huddy and Flaherty or fire Maurice. Bonus points if chevy can unload Buff
  11. Is it possible the jets are playing the d exactly the way Huddy draws it up? Lol fire this man.
  12. Reports from about a month ago are now making the rounds regarding Kurt Angle debuting RAW after WM to become new GM. Sounds like WWE wants him to wrestle from time to time so this would be a good idea to keep him a regular character for a handful of big matches.
