I work for a “large national telecom”

My employer surely won’t. When a field person has a lap top die it takes weeks for a new one. They won’t be able to implement large scale work from home. Only managers and up are “mobile”. Front line won’t be. They even made me trade in my lap top when I changed departments.

I think there is a growing sense that you just have to order a complete shut down for 30 days. Especially on impacted places where stupid people aren’t taking advice and continue to pack bars etc

Yeah I saw that pointed out. Really it’s both of their problems and they should have been in front of it. Bad optics for nhl players getting their million dollar pay cheque’s and part time staff being sent home indefinitely. It’s one thing If you know it’s for a week or two. Maybe you can scrimp by or borrow from family. But you have no idea how long. Rough.

I work in an office wheee it’s open and we sit pretty close. Our company has a large call centre which is a Petri dish at the best of time’s. We’re definitely all curious about what’s going to happen there. How about businesses that make service calls at homes. In and out of homes numerous times per day.

One is travel related. They aren’t sure on the other two yet. Community spread would be bad news. We’ve lucked out so far.

Yup. My gf is a small business owner. She’s her only employee and has had classes and clients cancel (understandably). But no sick time pay for her. No work, no pay. It’s very stressful.
