Pavs is or eligible for the expansion draft as he becomes a UFA after this season. The jets could have tried signing him to a one year extension but I imagine he would never do that. Would choose free agency over that. Hutch was signed to have a goalie to expose but also, I think the jets like him and hoped he'd be an effective back up. He wasn't last night but I'm not ready to write him off yet

Yes and the twitter chatter is whether Jets should claim him. I guess more specifically knowing no one will claim him should the Jets swap Pavs for Halak.

Laugh until your GM is fired because your starter has to be exposed and is selected by Vegas and you have no goalies with Nhl experience next season.

Asset management is important. It's the reason Hutch was offered a two year deal.

I don't mind Hutch. He's a back up. He's probably here next year too. The idea seems to be belle developed into a starter that plays the vast majority of games. But jets have a lot of issues besides their back up.

So the issue with this team is the back up goalie? Uh huh

Risking losing your one expansion eligiable goalie to waivers, as unlikely as it might be, to swap back ups seems rather foolish too, no?

Send down Hutch? He's here for the expansion draft. Not sure why that is hard to understand. Comrie comes up to be back up? Hutch sucks. But good thing he isn't our #1 goalie. Why he started tonight is anyone's guess.

Less goals and points than Laine and he's older. But it's a foregone conclusion that he's the Calder winner.

I just think he's awful. Like can't act at all. I guess it became more of a running joke because he was cast on some show I liked (was it law & order?) so it was just amusing in how he aggravated me every week.

If the Jets thought he was worthless, they'd waive him to the Moose and hope someone takes him. The fact they wont waive him to the Moose means they think someone will take him AND they dont want him taken for nothing. He's also been a guy plugged into the line up when there are holes to fill. Jets obviously see some value in a young, talented player who is still cost controlled for X number of years. Lawless reported the Jets were shopping him. So we can assume that is true. I see Burmi as an add-in to sweeten the pot in a larger trade. Maybe involving Stafford to a team looking for some depth for a playoff run.

This is a wonderful example of over-reach and stupidity by the justice system. They charge him with DUI but find, through their own testing, he is not under the influence of anything illegal. yet they will continue with the prosecution. Why? Because the DA thinks he was on some drug that wasnt on their list. They cant prove it though. Talk about malicious prosecution. I hope he not only wins his case but also sues the DA and wins there too. There is zero evidence he committed any crime (that he is charged with) but the DA thinks he did it anyway? Wow. As for his poor driving, charge him with reckless driving. The officer witnessed it. That's the correct charge. He pays his fine. Everyone moves on.

Because Copp and Tanev have a future with the Jets and benefit by playing. Burmi doesnt have a future with the Jets and is an extra forward...and likely traded by the deadline. Same goes with Thorbs, he might have more of a future with the Jets but he gains nothing by playing more minutes. He is what he is.

I like those lines. Keep Thorburn and maybe Burmi as extra forwards for injury insurance (Burmi can play all positions).

I like Matthias but I think they can move him off that line for someone a bit better as a scorer. Armia gets chances and will score. Lowry will from time to time. But Matthias is a black hole. Petan between Lowry and Armia would be better. perreault too

I have a feeling Jets shock the Jackets and for at least a few days the league will be back on the Jets bandwagon.

If they play like that all the time they will win more often than not.

It's unlikely she wouldn't have been famous without Star Wars. She was considered Hollywood royalty. Star Wars was her biggest popular mainstream project but she was a great writer as well. And of course the script doctoring she did anonymously. But certainly almost everyone immediately thought of Princess Leia. And why not? Seems difficult to create strong female roles and here was Princess Leia in the 70's who was a leader of men, a soldier, a princess, tough, tender, independent, loving, beautiful etc. She was THE example of a strong modern woman.
