  1. I heard the issue with the London Knight was when they were considering Black Knights so whatever issue they had, they got over. If I recall, they had issues with Army. If London really wouldnt allow "Knights" and that was a legitimate legal hold up, choose something else. The problem with Knights is, it has nothing to do with Las Vegas. You're in a marker where you're asking fans to embrace a pretty foreign concept and you choose a brand that speaks nothing to the city or area. It sounds like the NHL banned anything related to gambling so High Rollers, Snake Eyes, Aces were all out. Saying that, I like their logo. Its simple yet effective.
  2. Thats the ideal scenario. You ask Enstrom to waive knowing Vegas wont take him. It allows you to protect more forwards. But whats in it for Enstrom? He risks the unlikely scenario of Vegas choosing him (if Enstrom waives, its possible another team wants him and tells Vegas to pick him as part of a later trade). So the key would be getting Toby to waive. You could promise him a new contract. Or to move him to a contender if that's important to him.
  3. He will be 20 this season. Does he turn pro next season?
  4. Trade enstrom. Problem solved. Or trade something good to Vegas to pick someone they don't mind losing
  5. That's the first thing that jumped out at me too. Very weird. I mean, sure most people refer to it as "Vegas" but it's odd to not use your actual city name. The whole name is stupid. But I appreciate their effort to explain it in some way. They have a nice story about "Knights" with no mention of the fact knights have nothing to do with the city or state. The real reason is they weren't allowed to use Black Knights. Why not go Knights by itself? Weird. But I love Las Vegas so I'm embracing them. Go Vegas!
  6. That's a stupid contract. What happens when he retires? Still cost Sharks right?
  7. Was it because of the World Cup? Not sure they dont just start the season earlier.
  8. Vegas will reveal their name and logo at 7:30 tonight. Rumours are "Desert Knights" is eliminated. it will be Silver Knights or Golden Knights, both of which suck.
  9. I guess they like him on the third line where Lowry is playing center.
  10. I would agree. Because there are factors other than just who is the best player. Contracts and things of that nature. Waivers vs no waivers.
  11. Officially? No. Unofficially? I imagine his opinion carries some weight at meetings.
  12. Cant expect him to put up points playing LHD or on the third pairing....ohhhhh wait...damn
  13. hes hoping to end up another Subban where the lower bridge deal turns into a much higher long term deal where he ends up ahead in the end. And that's possible. But unless he gets traded to a team willing to pay, he will end up with fair market value here because Jets still own his rights.
  14. Only in Winnipeg do the fans start planning to fire the next coach before he's even hired yet. We want a coach with a winning record for a team that isnt a winning team in talent. If it was that easy, teams wouldnt bother scouting and drafting - they could just hire winning coaches. Maurice isnt getting fired. So its a moot point.
  15. You made a snarky, sarcastic response to a relevant point. So you got one in response which was half serious actually. You can figure it out. I was fine with the last thread minus the silly memes that had no point. But if you prefer serious discussion, by all means, set an example
  16. NXT was really good on Saturday. Joe/Nak was great and a bit of a surprise ending as most people figured Nak would win and Joe would get called up. But I think Owens is sort of a block to Joe being called up because Vince can only handle one fat guy on top at a time. Not sure how long Joe will be champ as I think Bobby Roode is being groomed as the next top guy (and they'd probably go back to a babyface first). And Mickey James looked tremendous. Im seriously considering trying to bring her in.
  17. I guess its possible they dont go back to a rematch but I would be shocked. I think its for a rematch at Rumble since they have the dome in San Antonio to fill. The best part about this is how WWE missed the ball once again. They didnt want Goldberg. The video game people did. Vince was basically talked into doing a Brock/Goldberg match to promote the video game (Brock and Bill are close friends). And now, seeing the reaction he decided to keep Goldberg for awhile. Same thing happened with Sting who wanted to go to WWE and Vince didnt think he was a star and didnt think anyone would know him...until they played the video game ad on RAW and he got a monster reaction. Hopefully the video game people sign Angle next year so we can get one last run. Heck, lets put the video game people in charge of WWE creative. Roman screwed Shane big time on that "spear" to the chin. Moron.
  18. I would expect a better effort on Wednesday with a day off and a practice. Keep in mind, they are still battling an awful schedule and terrible injuries. But the expectation will be a better performance.
  19. If the players for the Jets play poorly because Burmi starts as 4th line centre over De Leo, then they aren't professionals. I guarantee you it says absolutely nothing to the other players. Especially when the narrative of Burmi being awful isnt true.
  20. The world has dictators and terrible people. Is that a shock? Like Putin is cool because he's the latest in a line of assholes? Or do you mean Assad and Saddam were cool?
  21. THis is a great take on it. Certainly, you have to question the intelligence of those who voted for Trump. But there are legitimate reasons some did. But like Stewart I agree there disqualifiers. I think that's the pain some people feel here. You see it everywhere really (here certainly) where people blindly support a party no matter what. But I doubt Trump wants the job for 8 years.
  22. I havent done the rounds yet to get the latest news but I felt the same way last night, thinking it was about the stupidest thing they could do. I do know that in the last few days Goldberg signed on for more with WWE. Prior to that, the only agreement was for this match. So they came up with this finish after he signed a longer deal. The idea, I assume, is this builds to a rematch. It doesn't though. Squashes dont build rematches. But it will be how WWE tells the story now. I imagine the story will be the invincible superhero Goldberg shocked/surprised the arrogant Brock who has never faced someone like Bill before. And that's ok I guess. I imagine they figured it wasnt going to be a great match and if you give the fans a 30 minute match, then thats all there is to see. Do the squash and come back with the "real" match later. You really screw the fans this way but because of the Network, they dont care about that as much. As for Roman, I still dont get it. He needs to go heel before the idea of him as a heel passes by. Same thing happened with Cena - there was a window to turn Cena and make it a big deal and they anguished over it so long, they missed it.
  23. Well....that was.....something?
