  1. So is this true that Trouba can get a bump on his unrestricted status? This is a deal designed to be used to trade Trouba. Make no mistake Jets fans that the 2012 first round pick is staying here for longer. If a deal is not hammered out for a trade Trouba will elect to go to arbitration and then request a one year deal and can be a UFA after that. So he can be a UFA in three years?
  2. He'll be around for awhile. It's a compromise. Jets gave in on a bridge. Trouba gave in on coming back for lower money than he could have and is still an RFA in two heads. Do we do this dance again in two years?
  3. Observer: There was a brief altercation and pull apart Sunday night involving Chris Jericho and Sin Cara while the Raw crew was traveling from Leeds, England, to today's Raw tapings in Glasgow, Scotland. As of now, WWE hasn't made any kind of statement regarding the incident, although Sin Cara (real name Jorge Arias) was kicked off the bus the crew was traveling on. The description of what happened was that Arias was making annoying noises while on the tour bus and even though people were telling him to stop, he kept doing it. This led to Jericho more forcefully telling him to stop, resulting in Arias telling him to f**k off. Words were exchanged and Arias threw a wild right at Jericho before everyone jumped in to break it up. Jericho bit Arias' finger during the skirmish. Arias was then kicked off the bus. One description was that he snapped in two seconds without any warning or reason. ****This would be Jericho's second altercation this year (first one being with Brock) and I think Sin Cara's third. Sin Cara might not be long for WWE.
  4. Yup, 18 degrees here yesterday, I was 10 during the Blizzard of 86. The only bad part was, it started on a Friday late afternoon/evening. If it had started Sunday, we might have missed most of the week of school. They cancelled Monday and Tuesday was Remembrance Day. By Wed, we were back to school.
  5. I saw Dr Strange last night. I was not a "Strange" fan at all but heard good things. It was very good. Much better than I would have thought with that source material.
  6. Probably Chevy telling the agent that they have no intention of trading Trouba and here is our offer... The only thing about the deadline is, other teams that value trouba might be more inclined to up their trade offers too. So its a matter of waiting for someone to blink, either Trouba or another team.
  7. Feel really bad for Armia. Great kid coming into his own. Perfect example of a player that needs time to develop before beginning to reach his potential. There were people talking about whether Armia was a bust and then he becomes a really solid player this season. The only silver lining is the Jets should end up a lot better for giving young guys time to play now and then getting Little, Armia, Myers, Trouba back heading into December/January.
  8. Maybe we should make a new thread about the US election for discussion and leave the silly stuff here. But anyway, FBI Director tries to unscrew Hilary after screwing her last week. Be interesting to see if it stops the tightening of polls.
  9. Armia sent back to winnipeg for evaluation. Said not to be day to day. Longer. Perreault is day to day.
  10. It would be great as a binge because there are little things that I dont pick up waiting week to week.
  11. Anyone watching Westworld? Its pretty damn good. But the "reveals" better be worth it!
  12. Looking forward to Wonder Woman. She was the best part of BvS.
  13. Trump is definitely feeling good after the FBI stepped in with a hail Mary pass. His plan seems to simply lie about Clinton and hope as much of it sticks as possible. If he wasnt already an unqualified idiot, his recent nonsense would disqualify him in my eyes. Him trotting out his wife to speak about bullying is gall. I assume if he wins he will appoint himself special advisor on women's rights. Media loving this though. Creates a race and drama.
  14. This game reminds us that Laine is just a kid. He was awful. Won't get PP time again playing like that. Ehlers is a machine. His motor never stops. Scheif is snake bit lowry rounding into the player we all expected. Burmi is confusing. Good hustle out there. Morrissey is good.
  15. They probably dont, unless they've fallen for her southern belle routine (or there is some other *ahem* relationship as has been rumored involving Dixie). But Dixie maintaining a role was always a condition of her selling. Her dad had a deal in place to sell to Toby Keith which would have paid far more money but it was conditional on Dixie remaining in a face-saving position. Toby wouldn't go for it so it fell apart. Rumours have been she was looking to sell but only if she maintained 51%. Clearly her demand has lessened to just maintaining an on-screen role and a part in management. After everything that has come out, its amazing Asper wants any part of this at all but I guess no one ever accused the Asper's of being geniuses.
  16. Just wait til they're asked about Leonard Asper partnering with the Nazi Bros.
  17. No point of Roslo on the 4th line playing 7 minutes. Copp even said his role on the Moose was to work on faceoffs and offensive part of his game but that "it wont be my role tonight". So the reason Copp was sent down was to play more minutes and become a better player. Same with Roslo. No need to stunt his development with 4th line minutes if you dont have to.
  18. Anthem Sports & Entertainment and Impact Ventures Announce Credit Relationship Toronto, Canada (November 3, 2016) - Anthem Sports & Entertainment Corp. and Impact Ventures, parent company of TNA Impact Wrestling, today announced that Anthem has provided a credit facility to TNA to fund operations. Anthem Sports & Entertainment Corp. is a global sports media company that operates Fight Network, Impact Wrestling's exclusive broadcaster in Canada, as well as the exclusive worldwide digital streaming partner for all TNA programming. It is also an equity stakeholder of Impact Ventures. The agreement includes the appointment of Anthem Executive Vice President Ed Nordholm to the Impact Ventures Board of Managers. The company will be managed by the Board with Mr. Nordholm representing the Board on all major operating and restructuring decisions. Dixie Carter will continue as Chair of the Company, as well as her position on the Board of Managers. Billy Corgan is no longer with the company.
  19. He gets snappy because he's a smart guy who thinks he's even smarter. Thats the way I see him. Hes very analytical and I think he's an attractive coach when you're trying to develop a team because he probably has a wealth of knowledge. But his answers sometimes seem overly complicated. Like if he ever dressed a player based on the alignment of certain stars in the sky, it wouldnt surprise me. Just let your best players play. On the other hand, he stuck with Mathias-Lowry-Armia and they have been very good and Lowry is bouncing back really well. Morrissey is doing very well. So...hard to say. He's paid the big bucks to know better than us.
