  1. There's a good chance that 3rd line sees more minutes than the 2nd line. And that's a much better 4th line too. Should win faceoffs, keep puck possession and generate a few chances.
  2. Trump getting really desperate here: http://www.cnn.com/2016/11/02/politics/gop-congressmen-constitutional-crisis/?iid=ob_homepage_deskrecommended_pool Why doesn't anyone ask these morons why there would be a constitutional crises in the event of illegalities by a President? It's spelled out pretty clearly. Pretty rich of a guy with a plethora of accusations about sexual assault to talk about this. The winner will be the person who comes out of the mud the least dirty.
  3. Hmmm that seems weird. Maybe Maurice feeling like Laine needs to have his TOI managed. The thing about Maurice, if I have to be critical, he almost seems to out-smart himself. His answer to why Laine isnt on the #1 PP was just goofy. However, Laine with Lowry and Armia could be dynamite.
  4. That's just an awful contract. I wonder what the next best offer was. 7 years? Even if the money wasnt too much for Ladd, that length is atrocious.
  5. Toby will be approaching 33 when his contract is up. But it wouldnt surprise me to see him re-up with the Jets for 3 years.
  6. I think thats only after the deadline when you have a limited number of call-ups... I think.
  7. http://www.cnbc.com/2016/11/02/gawker-settling-litigation-with-peter-thiel-hulk-hogan-for-undisclosed-amount.html Filing: Gawker to pay Hogan $31 million 51 Mins Ago | 00:56 Gawker founder and former CEO Nick Denton said in a blog post that the media company is settling its case with Hulk Hogan. Denton did not disclose the terms of the settlement. However, court documents said the case was settled for $31 million plus part of the proceeds from Gawker's $135 million sale to Univision, according to Dow Jones Newswires and Reuters. The litigation had been financed by tech entrepreneur Peter Thiel, who had been outed as gay nine years ago by Gawker.
  8. http://www.cnn.com/2016/11/02/asia/mh370-crash-landing-report/index.html (CNN)Missing plane Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 was plunging toward the sea with no one in control when it made its last satellite communication, new analysis reveals. "The really important news in this report is that the flap found in Tanzania was stowed," he said, referring to the flaperon that washed up off the East African country in June. "Therefore there was no way this airplane was being flown by anyone. It was out of control, ran out of fuel and spiraled into the sea at high speed." A Malaysian government document obtained by New York magazine in July cited a FBI forensic examination that showed the pilot of MH370 conducted a flight simulation on his home computer that closely matched the suspected route of the missing Boeing 777.
  9. I took Ladd in my pool. What a mistake. Jets looks even smarter today for moving away from Ladd and not giving him $6m+. And they have Ladd for SEVEN years?
  10. What a weird ad campaign http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/saskatchewan/new-sasktel-billboards-stir-up-controversy-1.3830750
  11. Adam West & Burt Ward return as Batman & Robin. Could be fun. Sequel has Wiliam Shatner as Two-Face. http://www.cnn.com/2016/11/01/entertainment/batman-animated-movie-return-of-the-caped-crusaders/index.html
  12. yikes. That D. At least with the Moose being based here it makes it easy for call ups like this, when a guy is hurt the morning of a game. Dano should be playing ahead of Thorburn.
  13. Anthem wants it, presumably because of the content for The Fight Network. They air quite a bit of TNA programming so we can only assume the ratings are decent (as far as decent for TFN). Under the proposed deal, Anthem would own 85% and Aroluxe would own 10% but Aroluxe would run TNA (and in fact, their CEO is already acting as the CEO for TNA). So Anthem more or less silent partners. Aroluxe is the production company that employs the Harris Bros (the Nazi's) so their interest might be more fan-driven. As part of the deal Aroluxe would produce TV at a reduced rate for a period of time. So Aroluxe might feel if TNA continues long term, its consistent money plus prestige to their production portfolio. Aroluxe's plan was to only tape 3-4 times a year. So we're talking marathon tapings, which raises a lot of issues ofcourse. But if they can get the expenses down considerably, they feel they can break even (or maybe even make a few bucks with the international TV deals) and hopefully begin to grow the company. Anthem would probably gain access to the video library as 85% owners without paying the full value of the library so in that sense its significant content for The Fight Network. Knowing WWE's two "non-binding" offers, might make Anthem and Aroluxe feel more at ease with taking a chance because in their minds, worse case scenario, they can always sell to WWE. Although Anthem is likely to fold TNA and keep the library before they'd sell to WWE - they own another library WWE is interested in and wont sell.
  14. I dont think he can even get by saying it was his duty or whatever, because his letter was so silly and pointless. Its always possible these are the smoking guns on Clinton. But they could be emails already reviewed. They could be emails that are an issue for Huma but not Hilary. The fact is, he wrote a letter in such a way to cause the most damaging speculation. And whether you like or dislike Hilary, that's tremendously wrong of a federal employee in his position. Its now all about the rhetoric, not the facts.
  15. Just more irrational anti-Clinton nonsense. I guess there arent enough real reasons to dislike a Clinton victory... lol
  16. Judge denies Corgan's request for injunction. This means TNA can continue to do business and make decisions without Billy's input. This would seem to mean Asper's Anthem buys TNA . There was talk of a Nov 1 deadline to pay Billy back so Im not sure if that is a TNA option or a Corgan option. ie. I dont know if Billy can decline to be paid back and continue to be an investor or if TNA can pay him back and make him go away. Billy had a clause whereby he could convert his loan into a 36% stake in TNA. However, it is believed Dixie made a deal with Anthem to pay off Billy and gain 85% stake. So its entirely possible that Dixie has promised deals that amounts to 121% of TNA.
  17. What a ridiculous election lol' That FBI director is looking at Hatch violations. What was he thinking? Well, probably thinking he would try and **** Hilary.
  18. http://www.tsn.ca/talent/trouba-really-only-has-two-choices-1.596587 Bob McKenzie Snips: There's no doubt in my mind the Jets have made it known to Trouba that the welcome mat remains out. They don't call it Friendly Manitoba for nothing, you know. And as my TSN colleague Darren Dreger speculated last week, it could friendly to the tune of a six-year, $5.5 million per year contract offer from the Jets if Trouba wishes to put aside whatever feelings are driving his trade request. That would be more than either Hampus Lindholm or Rasmus Ristolainen got from Anaheim and Buffalo, respectively; more than Toronto gave Morgan Reilly or Columbus gave Seth Jones. If I'm Trouba, or any player who's been on the sidelines for three weeks, I would be thinking about a lot of things, not the least of which include: - On a $5.5 million salary, each day missed is approximately a $30,000 hit, or about $600,000 to date. As I suggested on the TSN Hockey Bobcast on Friday — shameless plug to listen to my podcast on this no-game day in the NHL and you can do so here — it's Trouba time, and the talented young defenceman really only has two choices. One, he doubles down on what he started. Reinforce to one and all that he's fully committed to not playing in Winnipeg, that his reasons for wanting out are valid and dear to him, and then hope like hell the Jets hit the skids over the next four weeks so the Dec. 1 deadline poses at least as much threat to the club as the player. Or, two, recognize the deck is mostly stacked against a 22-year-old RFA coming out of entry-level, that potentially losing a full season hockey to back his demands isn't worth whatever principles spurred the trade request in the first place and negotiating a favourably structured contract so that missing the first few weeks of this season results in a minimum loss of wages (as Lindholm did with the Ducks with a $3 million salary in the first year) and get the Jets to pick you up on Friday when they're in Detroit. It's entirely Trouba's call, but I do believe as October gives way to November, we'll soon find out whether it's ending or it escalating.
  19. http://www.espn.com/nhl/story/_/id/17935169/judge-dismiss-charges-buffalo-sabres-evander-kane This is pretty interesting considering there is allegedly video of the incidents. But not uncommon in a "first offense" situation (though not usually one with video I would think). So I guess Buffalo is sort of a good news/bad news place for bad boy hockey stars. Bad in that they get into trouble but good in that the trouble goes away.
  20. today is potentially D-day for TNA. We will find out a judge's ruling on whether to extend Billy Corgan's temporary injunction against TNA. If so, it means TNA cannot make any moves and likely means the company will end up in Corgan's hands. If not, it likely means a quick "sale" of the company to Asper-led Anthem who will pay off Billy in return for 85% of the company. http://business.financialpost.com/legal-post/leonard-asper-faces-rock-star-billy-corgan-in-match-over-future-of-wrestling-network Interesting this is making the news...but no mention of the Nazi connection yet. It's only a matter of time... So, WWE put Sasha vs Charlotte on last at HIAC last night and then proceeded to lay out a rather shitty match for them including putting the heel over on the babyface in her hometown. Uh huh.
  21. Trouba is definitely eligible even if unsigned. Jets have to protect him or Vegas can select him in the expansion draft and then he'd be their unsigned RFA
