  1. Well, only one is playing for the Jets. The other two are AHL depth. And if I recall, Howden is doing well.
  2. You're probably right. Chipman was lying. It couldnt be that your position isnt accurate, it has to be Chipman was lying when answering a question that was not specific to any one player or team building concept...lol
  3. I dont think the Jets have ever done this. Chipman explained that they have charts and graphs on everyone showing where they think their value will be every year. So they had Frolik at a certain value. He wanted more (he didnt want to be here actually) and had earned free agency. So be it. Jets have plenty of cap. They havent shied away from signing players they want.
  4. The Jets had sort of two cores when they came here. They had the young guys and then the Ladd, Littles, Buffs, Wheeler etc. I think the feeling was, this is a team that can make the playoffs and by the time the new draftees are ready the "older core" will still be good enough to be the veteran leaders. If the Jets had stumbled into the Playoffs 3 of the last 5 years, then it would have been fine (Playoff cash). But it didnt happen. Really, only last season was the issue. They had an upward curve that saw them make the playoffs in Year 3. Last year was the step back year. If they hadnt stepped back, we probably still have Ladd, no Laine and are hoping to make the playoffs again. With the step back, with Laine, with Ladd gone, with Connor being good etc...its more of a "ef it, lets go more to the rebuild then the retool". I get it. I mean, my opinion? The Jets will either be bad or good. Yeah, shot in the dark, right? But I dont think there will be a long curve. When the Jets "get it", they will flip a switch and be very good. Bad to very good quickly. Thats my opinion. And it could happen this season.
  5. He's ripe for an offer sheet but Jets wont do that. The ducks have no means to match so Im surprised he hasnt been offer sheeted yet. Unless he doesnt want one and is willing to sit at home for free while the Ducks work out their cap....pretty nice guy if thats the case.
  6. If I understand ticketmaster correctly, you can buy tickets to only the Sunday game for as low as $144. But you can NOT buy only tickets to the Alumni game. You can buy package deal for as low as $226.
  7. Building for this year is asinine. Using one example of a drafted player wanting to leave doesnt prove the whole concept wrong. When the Jets are ready to win NOW, they will add free agents. Why bring in a big name free agent to lose? Why would a free agent come to a "developing" team?
  8. They're going to get that thing into The Pint??
  9. Trouba re-signing is the most likely option. Seems to be the consensus too. Lawless sure thinks so. Morrissey has been good which takes some pressure off. Interestingly, Myers hasnt been that good so if Trouba was here, he may have had a solid shot at that 2RHD spot. Then again, left vs right is just a red herring. This was discussed on coach's corner. Cherry asked "does he hate Winnipeg that much?" And Ron replied "he must, that has to be it." Cherry went on to say Winnipeg was one of his favorite cities in the world.
  10. I think the fanbase will get restless to a point. But if we get a lottery pick this year, so be it. I think where people will be more concerned is if veterans are playing poorly, like the very expensive Buff.
  11. Couldnt find any on ticketmaster. It says none available online, must go to box office. I think Chipman hit the nail on the head. As soon as he gave that interview, it seemed they sold a lot. Very poor marketing by the NHL.
  12. I wasnt. Turned it on in time to watch him make a bad play and lose the puck. But if we're going to suck maybe he should play for a winner on the moose. Maybe a winner lol
  13. Chipman said they made an error in selling tickets on that the jets, the league and the bombers were all selling tickets but not in a cooperative manner. And he thinks the talk of it being sold out ages ago hurt sales.
  14. On Rich Ralph's show today, he had a reporter from Boston on. This reporter said he spoke directly to a high placed source within the Bruins who confirmed they DID threaten to offer-sheet Trouba but Chevy didnt blink.
  15. I read that too Rich. Trump's whole "the election is rigged" is a plan to actually try to rig it himself. Just wait. There will be race-related violence on election night and he will spin it as Hilary trying to rig things. The fact Trump is still in this thing speaks volumes about the wide-spread racism, bigotry and stupidty in America. When Hilary called many of Trump's supporters deplorable, she was 100% correct. She had to apologize because oh dear, how dare she insult some Americans. Sorry, they are deplorable. She was right. Hilary Clinton is the common-sense candidate. lol
  16. The teflon Don? This is really unbelievable (CNN)Across three critical battleground states, the race for president remains tight, according to new CNN/ORC polls in Nevada, North Carolina and Ohio. The polls find Hillary Clinton inches ahead of Donald Trump in North Carolina and Nevada, but continuing to trail the Republican Party's presidential nominee in one of the biggest electoral vote prizes on the map, Ohio. The polls were taken October 10-15 as accusations of sexual assault against Trump began to roll out in the wake of the release of a video of the real estate mogul captured on a hot mic talking about women in a sexually aggressive and lewd way. All three find most voters in these battlegrounds had heard a great deal about the video itself, and most say the way Trump talks about women on the tape reflects his views about women generally. But in both Ohio and North Carolina, comparisons to CNN/ORC polls in September and late-August respectively suggest the allegations aren't hurting Trump in either of those states, either among likely voters or among the broader pool of registered voters.
  17. Do they get their full salary? Because if they were released, cant collect their salary and cant go anywhere else to collect a salary, thats a **** move.
  18. This is unacceptable. I want my money back.
  19. Looks like the forum ate a lot of posts after being down this morning. Or am I nuts? Looks better.
  20. I finally watched it about two weeks ago and couldnt stop. It truly was tremendous. Great child actors too. Loved the way it not only took place in the 80's but was filmed as if it was made in the 80's and borrowed from 80's film tropes. Very cool.
  21. Anyone playing NHL17? I usually wait for the roster update after the season begins (to get all the rookies, waivers etc aligned properly). Thoughts??
