  1. The heart and soul of Jurassic Park is Sam Neill. Bring him back.
  2. They really have little choice but to sign Trouba or swing a deal for a D. Im surprised, to an extent, they havent already. Doesnt have to be a world-beater, but someone who can play the mid-four every night. What's Kris Russell doing?
  3. I had a dream last night that the Jets traded Trouba to Buffalo in something like a 12-14 player trade. Oddly, it seemed they ended up with Krug so maybe it was a three team deal. But leaving Winnipeg was Trouba, Lemieux, Armia, a minor league goalie who's name I cant remember (Phillips?) and I think Burmi for a package that included almost no one I had heard of. And everyone was angry. Then I woke up mad.
  4. One of the talking heads this week and said watching Burmi in practice he looks like he has all the talent in the world. But in games he can't put it together. I've always been a fan because you can see the talent. But his time is running out. He should probably focus on being a defensive forward and use his possession ability to his advantage. But yeah time is running out
  5. http://money.cnn.com/2016/10/06/news/india-irs-scam-arrests/index.html something many of us know about. I've had these idiots call me several times.
  6. I was counting Ehlers but he turned 20 this year. laine and Connor.
  7. Reports all over that Goldberg vs Brock to be announced on ESPN imminently (for a match at Survivor Series). Reports all over that WWE is actually buying TNA's library and then Dixie sells the rest of the company to Billy Corgan who would rebrand it (since WWE would get the intellectual property in the sale).
  8. I think what people say is the Jets are young so there is no expectation for them to contend. With three guys in the top six who are teenagers. I think there is pressure to not play lousy. But playing well and losing, doing things right but just not being quite good enough, that is what some are expecting.
  9. I think he is saying that the schools recognize that for safety, they need school patrols at intersections that fall outside the school zone area. So if it was safety, the school zones would be larger. But its not about safety, its about maximizing tickets. I made the same point. That 300 kids dont walk one block and disappear. The city says "hey you can drive 50KM/H a block away" where the same kids are still walking home and crossing streets. So its not about safety. And the argument is, well we cant enforce everywhere. Exactly. So enforce where needed, not a blanket zone where you get maximum revenue. If the city believes the amount of kids dissipates enough a block or two away that safety is not an issue, then why do they still do enforcement at 5:20PM in deserted school zones? Because they are relying on people instinctively driving the general city limit (50) in an area where it is clearly safe to do so. Look, I slow down in my area school zones as a reflex now to avoid tickets. But if I drive in an unfamiliar area, I dont always see the school zone sign. Thats what they rely on. If I see kids, I slow down, regardless of whether its 3:00 or 7:00 because its safe. But they dont want that. They want to catch you.
  10. I would disagree with this. Enforcement shouldnt be based on set times. it should be based on need. You should not arbitrarily change speed limits to try and catch motorists. We've seen this with construction enforcement where people were nailed even though no workers or work was present and I believe these were successfully argued. It should never be about revenue, it should be about safety. And doing school zone enforcement when there is no school or kids around is not about safety. The city would also address all the signage issues that have been pointed out if it was about safety. But it isnt.
  11. Ric Flair claims he slept with Halle Berry in 1997. Its making some mainstream news to the extent Berry's people had to comment (they denied it). Del Rio no-showed the AAA PPV in Mexico but claimed he was attacked and stabbed several times (he posted graphic pics of his wounds, later deleted). There were rumours all day sunday that he was in Orlando and possibly appearing for TNA but it hasnt happened yet (TNA wants him very badly). Speaking of TNA, on day one of their tapings, Bobby Lashley lost the World Championship to Eddie Edwards. I hope no one is too spoiled...lol
  12. They might waive Burmi, work a small trade or put someone in the pressbox. Maybe "injury".
  13. Yeah I would not be mad at the Jets if they hold Trouba's feet to the fire. But its still a major asset that is not playing and that hurts the Jets too. If Trouba is forced to sign a bridge deal on Nov 30th, the reaction he gets from fans when he steps on the ice will not be a good one. And I am sure the players will all say the right things but I bet they wont be too happy either. Right now, Trouba is hoping the Jets suck out of the gate.
  14. Thats exactly what I thought too. I was ready to turn it off after about 20 minutes but Im glad I stuck with it. It's interesting, to say the least. One thing that was very cool was the old west style music was actually modern music played on old pianos, violins etc. For example, Paint It Black and I think a Metallica song.
  15. Purple is the "theme" for the Cruiserweight division. I dig the effort to make it different. TJP is pretty good. It was a good match. kendrick is very good.
  16. I agree. But ofcourse the Jets are losing too, by not signing or moving Trouba immediately. It would make sense to me to see a trade sooner than later. I dont think they want to lose out on the asset. The agent is gambling that the Jets dont want to let the asset sit just as much as the asset doesnt want to sit. It hurts Trouba more in the long run. But the Jets want this resolved too.
  17. Morrissey getting tried out on the RHD is interesting. Perhaps the Jets want to limit his ice time as a rookie. Stu-Morrissey. In which case its probably Enstrom-Myers and Chiarot-Buff. And that's not ideal. Chiarot would need a bounce back year.
  18. The only issue is that Kane tried that and the Jets didnt trade him until he had left the team (or was pushed out). So if Im the agent, Im not sure "sign a deal and we will try to trade you" would fill me with confidence. But come the end of November, if the Jets make it clear they have not received a suitable offer and will let him sit, what choice does Trouba have? If he opts to go play in the KHL, then he'd be taking very poor advice from his agent.
  19. You're arguing a different point or missing the one we're discussing. Its a trap to "enforce" something that doesnt need to be enforced. If there are 100 kids on a street and that requires enforcement for safety but ten feel over those same 100 kids dont need safety enforcement, what else can I say? The school zone enforcement has zero to do with safety because its done in such a way that its apparent safety isnt the issue. Its about revenue. And shamefully using "lives of children" as an excuse to generate revenue is just wrong.
