  1. Well its not like one store can mark it up a ton because there is competition. Sure, they ALL mark it up. But Visions is known for being more open to haggling their price than, say, Best Buy. I am generally decent at haggling but I dont enjoy it, even when buying a car. Because when I get to the point of haggling, Ive decided I want the product so Im more inclined to accept what I think is fair rather then being obsessed with "winning" a negotiation. For the record (and at risk of looking insane), this is the one I have my eye on: http://www.bestbuy.ca/en-CA/product/lg-electronics-lg-86-4k-uhd-hdr-led-webos-3-0-smart-tv-86uh9500-86uh9500/10414425.aspx?path=1265fc017ffed8a379e630fb5d5b8fb2en02 Buddy has the 75" version and loves it.
  2. I believe thats basically her current strategy.
  3. Getting decimated shortly, the timeline works for a nice little comeback for Wrestlemania! AJ does have an autobiography coming out soon that Im sure she'd love WWE to plug.
  4. I think Dano makes the team. I think hes the type of player they like in the bottom six. Works hard, tenacious. Score a couple here and there. probably better than Burmi all things considered.
  5. Normally if I need a cable, its because I need one today. So Amazon doesnt work. But thats a good idea. I went to buy a Blu Ray Player (I think) from Visions and I had done some research. I asked the guy to knock a few bucks off and he came back and said "do you need HDMI cords?" I said yes. He said I can knock of $20 if you buy your cords here...the $100 Monsters. I said no thanks and went to Future Shop. I think that was the last time I went to Visions. But my friend buys from there quite a bit. He runs a hotel and used them for all the hotel TV's etc (which is why I got a TV at near cost...) Im leaning towards LG for my next one.
  6. Yeah so much for a kinder gentler trump. Bill was called the first black president. I don't think trump is going to be successful painting the clintons as racist. That's too high a hill to climb. Watch trump go full scorched earth sooner or later
  7. My tv is from visions as well. Same with my surround sound. They tried to gouge me on cables thougj and that turned me off. Best Buy and Visions are basically next door in my area so it's a matter of playing them off each other a bit.
  8. Punk is worse. That video series (I only saw one part so far) makes me less interested in his fight other then the intrigue in seeing someone get decimated. Because he is going to get decimated.
  9. Have you ever speculated about a trade?
  10. Not a source for news. Source for discussion. Nothing wrong with that. Interesting suggestions too: Arizona Coyotes Receive: Jacob Trouba Alex Burmistrov 2017 4th round pick Winnipeg Jets Receive: Jakob Chychrun Rights to Tobias Rieder Anthony Duclair
  11. Im soon to be in the market for a TV and stupidly have my eyes on an 86" LG. But my buddy who likes good things just got a 75" LG and its beautiful. HDR is important. You want 4K and HDR (HDR will get more and more important and drastically improves colour range etc). I generally will find one Im interested in and then google reviews so I can see the "cons" and decide if I care about them. Regarding the posted price, who has had success with haggling for electronics? I've done it for my surround sound (but it was Boxing Day anyway) but my current TV was at cost as I knew a guy who knew a guy. If Im spending $10,000 on a TV, how much can I get knocked off?
  12. Observer: USADA announced Wednesday that Jon Jones and Brock Lesnar could be facing a maximum suspension of just one year for the ir recent drug test failures, and not the traditional two-year ban. Ariel Helwani first reported the news on MMAFighting.com. Both Jones and Lesnar failed drug tests by testing positive.for hydroxy clomiphene in and around their scheduled fights at UFC 200. In Jones' case, he also failed for the letrozole metabolite. Jones was pulled just days before his fight against Daniel Cormier, while Lesnar's results didn't come out until after he had beat Mark Hunt on the show. It was revealed Lesnar failed tests prior to UFC 200 as well as on fight night itself. The reason for the shorter suspension is that hydroxy clomiphene is classified as a "specified substance" under the World Anti-Doping Association (WADA) code. According to that code, that means it's "susceptible to a credible non-doping explanation". To WADA, specified substances can enter the body inadvertently, allowing governing bodies to limit suspensions. Both Jones and Lesnar still face the possibility of fines and/or suspension from the Nevada Athletic Commission. On Tuesday, Lesnar was placed under temporary suspension while he awaits a full hearing. This is the first PED suspension for either fighter and penalties are usually less severe for first-time offenders.
  13. Ive said before, my main concern with Willy is if he has suffered some brain damage as a result of concussions, damage that would not be generally noticeable or impact his life but might result in split second delays or errors that impact his game. Especially coupled with confidence issues. But if I had to bet, I'd say Willy will come off the bench eventually, reclaim his spot and prove the doubters wrong.
  14. With the new HC for the Moose, there might be both a greater confidence in having the kids develop there and a desire to provide the Moose with better players too. I hope Connor makes the Jets because it means he's good enough. But nothing wrong with being the top player for the Moose and learning to score and win.
  15. 7 years is better to avoid him and Scheif expiring at the same time.
  16. Agreed. Awful. Unless he's drastically improved over the last year or so.
  17. Leibl is a good host as far as keeping them on track and on time etc. But he can be a bit annoying when trying to be funny. But I do like him. I cant remember if I liked Jay but I think I did so him coming back (he needs a job) would be fine. Wasnt his crime rather small (pissed off a sponsor on Twitter?)
  18. So, I just got back from Las Vegas yesterday. On Friday we went to Sam's Town Casino to watch the Ring of Honor PPV and on Saturday to watch their TV tapings. My first ROH events live. We had front row seats to both shows (to the immediate right of the stage/ramp). I had a great time and found the events very well produced and well worked. Some very good talent. There are things I'd change if I was in production, such as too much spitting. Crowd was full for PPV (probably 500, so it was a nice intimate audience) and quite rowdy. Camera guy had to tell one fan to stop giving the middle finger and another to change his shirt (his shirt said F*ck You). Great seeing some of the Japanese stars like Tanahashi and Okada (The IWGP World Champion). I managed to secure an unopened pack of OkadaBucks (the fake money they hand out to ringside fans to throw at Okada since he's the "Rainmaker"). Okada worked Dalton Castle who has a great schtick. I exchanged messages with Dalton a few months ago about coming in so I saw him after the show on Saturday and mentioned I had spoken to him about coming to Winnipeg and he said "thats Kenny's home promotion right?" I later ran into Christopher Daniels and he said nice to meet you and I said well actually you came up to your promotion in Winnipeg in 2005 and he said "Oh yeah, i worked with Kenny, right?" Cool moment was running into Kevin Sullivan in the casino and exchanging pleasantries. Buddy and I walked off saying man, thats cool to meet a legend like Sullivan...wait, why didnt we get a pic??!! We had made custom shirts. While at the marathon Bombers game a couple weeks back I had a brainstorm to hijack Jericho's phrase of "Im from Winnipeg, you idiot" and make a shirt with Corino, Jericho, Omega and "Me" on it with the phrase "We're from Winnipeg, you idiots". Well I sent the idea to my graphics guy who made a tremendous professional looking logo that has elements of the Jets logo and the Winnipeg skyline with the Golden Boy and the names on the back. After TV on Saturday, Buddy really wanted to get a photo with Steve Corino and the shirts. We thought we had missed him as we waited for awhile. The buddy was bugging me to just call Steve but I didnt want to bug him (plus I had his phone number in my old phone). I also didnt want to try and big league anyone by going to the Locker Room and dropping names. Not my style. So we hung out with some fans (some girls from Calgary wanted pics with us wearing the shirts) and met some of the other boys. Finally Steve comes out. But there were three other people waiting, two of whom said they "knew Steve really well and were going to hang out with him". Steve sort of brushes them off, sees me and comes over. Says he has to find his wife since the post-TV production meeting ran long. He said Ill come find you guys. Well, thats a classic brush off move. A few minutes later a fan comes around the corner and says "which one is Andrew?" Me, I say. "Steve wants me to take you to him"...Godfather style. Turns out, I assume, he didnt want to hang out with those other guys...lol So this kid takes us to Steve, his wife, Adam Cole and a couple others having drinks in the Atrium. We chatted for a bit, talked about Kenny and G1, talked about coming back to Winnipeg, got some pics and went on our way. We actually ran into Steve and his wife on the strip the next day too. All in all, a great time at ROH. PPV was better. TV is longer and has more breaks and more talking but sets up more angles. Saw the ROH World Championship change hands on the PPV (Adam Cole defeated Jay Lethal) so that was cool. And Sam's Town was actually pretty nice. Might do it again next year if ROH does Vegas during the summer months. I will also say Vegas as a whole was a lot of fun. I was last there in 2011 and when people say its more expensive and more corporate, they are right. Virtually ZERO Vegas style (comp) drinks. I assume its better at the high roller areas but it used to be good for everyone. Only once on the strip (at MGM) did we get asked if we wanted a drink while playing VLT's. At Sam's Town, we got asked much more often. Non-comp drinks are also quite expensive. But there are a lot of corner stores with 2 Kingcans for $10 type of deals. On Freemont, they had signs posted that drinking the beer from the store on Freemont was a fineable offense but we had plastic drafts cups so we (and everyone else) poured them in. Made it a much cheaper evening. Met more hookers on this trip than my prior two trips. All very nice. For fun I asked what it would cost us and she said $400 each (there were two of them). My buddy drunkingly replied "noooo, thats too much. Im married". Did the High Roller (ferris wheel). It was actually really cool, amazing views. And their service is outstanding. We had the open bar and the guy was free pouring and used all quality booze. Started everyone with a shot of Patron. Then served us very very strong Jack & Coke for the 30 minutes we were there. Like to the point I considered telling him to lighten up on the Jack. Lost every dollar I put in the machines (except the $15 cash out I forgot I had and brought back with me). Found The Flintstones game on the last night and its a lot of fun. Highly recommended. New York New York (our hotel) was great. Long story short, I've never been a huge ROH fan but they really did a great job last week and I'd go again.
  19. I think the Westwood hate is holdover from people not liking him near the end of his run with the Bombers. He's a good radio guy. Sounds good and has insight. I'd say he is a lot better than most jocks that end up on radio or TV. He is intelligent and well spoken. His insight into being a pro athlete is obviously his bread & butter. But he has interesting takes on many subjects and seems like a genuine guy. I like him a lot. I agree he isnt good as the host when Matt has been away. He's a good sidekick though.
  20. The idea of a blade job and then Brock opening it up with stiff shots would make a lot of sense. But it sounds like no blade at all. The finish was meant to be a ref stoppage due to blood and to get the blood, the plan was Brock would elbow Orton and open him up. Absolutely mind boggling in this day and age. From what I see when watching it, no blade at all. Just two stiff elbows. The way you know its a work is Brock was work punching him, hit the two elbows (which Orton opened up to receive so he knew it was coming) and then more worked punches. Like you guys said, in the concussion era, to do that, is really unbelievable. I appreciate Orton's toughness. But he could have been serious injured. WWE is very anti-blade because the general public gets squeamish over it. But man, if you want blood (and blood is GREAT when used right), bring back the blade. Blading is safe and effective. Cracking a guys skull until it explodes is effective but not at all safe. Although there are a huge amount of fans who believe Brock went "off script" so thats amusing and effectively rehabs Brock into a badass. But the idea he might do a match with Shane is laughingly bad. Jericho did get into a fight with Goldberg that he got the better of. But it was brief. Goldberg charged him, Jericho put him in a front facelock and wouldnt let go until it was broken up so it wasnt a real fist-throwing fight. I personally think Jericho was completely out of line with what he did at Summerslam but some think he was being a courageous leader. Meh.
  21. Yeah, its tough. three hours is too much. And their PPV's are way too long now that they do over-runs and pre-shows on the Network. More details about Jericho/Brock which is somewhat amusing: We’re told Chris was repeatedly asking for clarification from everyone in the Gorilla position, but wasn’t getting answers because backstage footage was still being shot by crew members. Brock, however, heard Jericho say this was “bullsh*t” and loudly told the longtime wrestler that this was none of his business. That set Y2J off and he continued asking questions, causing Lesnar to push him. When that happened, Jericho rushed in and tried getting face-to-face with The Beast. We’re told Brock kissed him on the forehead at that point … then said, “kiss me back, p*ssy.” Our sources say Jericho didn’t back down though! He actually stepped up and got in Lesnar’s face, ready to fight. But Brock responded, with his arms behind his back, saying “hit me or kiss me, *****” … causing everyone in the area to swarm in and break them apart, including Triple H. Things didn’t calm down though, and Vince McMahon eventually rushed in to usher Brock away, while yelling at Chris to be more professional. Jericho fired back at his boss, saying Lesnar was the unprofessional one who started “shooting” on his co-worker … to which Vince replied, “It’s a work! What’s wrong with you?!” implying the blood job was planned in some way. Shortly after, the two sides went their separate ways backstage.
