  1. Yeah I agree. If anything it's saying the core is strong and the future is strong. But they want more depth aside from other youth. Safety net. And making the Moose more competitive which helps development of young players there.
  2. interesting trend with these signing bonuses. It's one thing to do it prior to potential work stoppage season but every year? Guess it's considered a bonus to get most of your salary in a lump sum rather then a weekly pay cheque. Must be some advantage to it. Getting no trade clauses too. I'd think having minimal salary makes a player more traceable. Imagine trading for Ladd in December. You basically owe him barely half a million on the season since the Ilses paid all his salary up front. Interesting.
  3. i disagree with this perspective. Jets didn't make the playoffs last year. Seems to me they felt part of the issue was consistency. They are bringing in depth to cover for injuries and push other players. Make youth earn it
  4. is he much of an improvement on Stu? assume Chiarot gets waived to the Moose. Postma stil in the press box? Although still rumours of Jets/Ava working on major deal. Minor commitment so doesn't bother me even if it's nothing but a veteran back up in case of injury.
  5. 6'3. 183 drafted 25th overall in 2010 He was also selected to play in the 2011 and 2012 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships for Team Canada.[2] Howden is considered to be a power forward known for his combination of speed, size and creativity.
  6. Wouldn't surprise me to see Stafford traded. Stemp signs in Carolina.
  7. Interesting. We all see the number of bodies and think jets won't add forwards but seems jets want to get better. Maybe bigger and grittier and aren't concerned about number of bodies.
  8. Yup. They want more out of Lowry and this is a player that will push him. Could be either one gets pushed down to the 4th line and if so that's not bad for the depth. Worse case the Moose also benefit but I'd susoext Chevy has some irons in the fire on the trade front
  9. Seems like a guy that will work hard and lead by example. Might be management isn't sold on effort from armia/Burmi.Lowry. And he's better than Thorburn
  10. I guess they see Lemiuex on the moose. Matthias 4LW. Big tough guy. Should be fun to watch if nothing else.
  11. Hmmmm curious move to add a guy like that to the Jets. Definitely must be some trades in mind for Chevy. Could be they want to move Lowry back to wing. But again with Armia, Dano, Burmi etc they have lots of bottom six wingers Good for Ladd. He took a big risk and got paid in a good situation with a good team. Radulov is talented. That's a lot of money though.
  12. time for a new thread for a new season that begins today. Canada Day. Free Agent Frenzy. Will the Jets trade Trouba? Will they resign Scheif to an 8 year deal? Will Boston, as heavily rumoured, offer sheet Trouba? What about the rumours of the Jets in a three way deal with Edmonton and Avs? Stay tuned!
  13. Vince said the same thing years ago and Steph just doesn't have the knowledge to realize how stupid it is. Also Vince thinks UFC is barbaric and hates it and neither Steph nor Hunter are fans. They just don't get it. The fact UFC is a legit competition is part of its appeal and the fact WWE is scripted, in fact over-scripted, is part of why its popularity has waned. There's a reason UFC is worth 4 times as much as WWE.
  14. Why on earth would anyone take Kane unless it's as a favour to Buffalo
  15. probably a three way with Buffalo. Trouba to Avs, Landeskog to Buffalo, Kane to Winnipeg.
  16. Im sure Buffalo is thinking its time to get him out of town. Two legal issues involving women in a matter of months? Yikes.
