  1. Enterprise gets destroyed yes. Lin said it was his idea. When JJ first spoke to him about taking on the job he asked him to pitch a "bold idea" and Lin said blow up the ship. Bold. Hmmmmm. Anyway....hopefully it ends with us seeing a new better enterprise closer to TMP. You might also notice from the trailer what appears to be an NX ship similar to the Enterprise tv show.
  2. Potential angle alert. But can't blame him. He's still young and studied to be an actor. They dropped the ball with him. Not saying he's the next ric flair or anything but the stardust angle is atrocious and only works if there was a payoff which their wasn't. When dusty died he should have been pushed as Cody going on an inspirational run in his fathers memory. Still crowds chant Cody Cody at him and WWE just goes on blissfully unaware.
  3. Sounds like Daley might have a fracture. Pens have a critical decision to make on goaltending
  4. He was in many storylines including being a leprechaun, Finlay's son, Vince's son, anonymous GM. Pretty high profile stuff He hasn't been used in a long time though. One thing about Disney is they seem pretty savvy about buying valuable properties and using them correctly. I hope WWE remains in McMahon hands forever though.
  5. Well how would that be different from all the storylines we already got with hornswoggle?
  6. Much better than the first. They clearly heard the criticism. Still, doesn't wow me.
  7. I assume they want someone that can run the jets preferred systems and manner of development in the AHL. Which of those teams plays like the jets?
  8. Wasnt the issue that the junior members of the cast wanted raises and went on strike together?
  9. I believe it was a five year deal signed in 2014 for around $200 million per year average (starts lower and has escalators built in). Thats why WWE isnt overly concerned about ratings now but as the expiry nears, they will be. WWE is just becoming as profitable as they were before they changed their business from a PPV business to Over The Top. So they've done a good job of changing how they generate revenue for the future. Assuming the Network grows, even slowly, WWE should be profitable for a long long time. Comparatively, they generate more revenue than UFC, though UFC generates more profit. WWE is a larger and wider brand than UFC also and does better TV ratings. UFC obviously does better PPV buys. But its interesting that UFC is supposedly looking for a valuation upwards of $4b and Vince just sold shares in WWE that valued it at around $1.3 B. WWE would be a good brand for a company like Disney that could diversify the brand even more. Though I dont expect the McMahon family to ever sell control. Although ESPN is owned by Disney, coincidentally. The way I understand the ESPN deal is that they were reluctant to cover wrestling for a long time for obvious reasons but are inundated with viewers wanting information, especially during high points like WrestleMania...so ESPN made the decision that it was ok to cover wrestling as Sports is Entertainment. Plus having Coach involved, they have someone that "gets" wrestling.
  10. Im not a hate Ovi guy. He's a great great great talent and continues to improve his game. Would he look great in a Jets jersey? Absolutely. But does it make sense long term for the Jets? Not at all. If the Jets were contenders and Ovi had 2-3 years left, sure...consider it. But trade a potential franchise player (#2) for a guy that will be fun to watch but likely never bring deep Playoff success here for $10m/season? Just makes zero sense for the Jets. And ofcourse, why would Ovi come here? Not a chance. Some reporter looking for teams who can afford Ovi plus have something the Caps would want.
  11. Isn't the idea that the new macgyver is the originals son? i liked the training day trailer. Although Ethan Hawke had been in talked to reprise his role but no mention of him. I hope he ends up appearing even if just a cameo
  12. Jeff doesn't since he just tried to form his own version of TNA. But Toby wouldn't invest unless Jeff got a TV deal, which he has been unable to do.
  13. Well her parents spent over $30 million and that was the number I heard a few years ago. Dixie is surely drawing a large salary. Her parents cut her off last year and thats why the stories of misses pay and late pay and lowered production values etc have sprung up. Her dad had a great legitimate offer to sell TNA to a group headed by Jeff Jarrett and Toby Keith. They had everything agreed upon including sale price. But Bob Carter held out wanting Dixie to be guaranteed a role and it killed the deal. Just foolishness.
  14. No one should be belittling her or anything but there is *some* personal responsibility for wearing a very low cut top in a place you know will be widely seen. She cant claim she wasnt looking for attention. That being said, again, I think fun is fun but only in a POSITIVE manner. Its almost like if those body suit wearing guys got upset because people mentioned how their outfits leave nothing to the imagination...
  15. Can we get Selanne on board to do a little tampering? JP demands a trade but only to the Jets...
  16. Cummerbatch bulked up for Star Trek Into Darkness on very short notice. He could easily look imposing. Although his face isnt intimidating at all. Hiddleston has the Brosnan suave qualities for sure. Fassbender would be an interesting choice too. As an aside, I always thought Hiddleston would make a perfect Data if they needed to recast (even just due to age) the role for a Star Trek production.
  17. Yeah...I mean okay, if the reporter feels the Caps' window is closing, sure trade Ovi. But why on earth would the Jets trade #2 for a 31 year old with a $10m+ contract? This sounds like some reporter saw a lot of people saying Laine reminds them of Ovi and he thought 'hey it would be nice if the Caps could trade old Ovi for young Ovi and save $10m in the process'.
  18. Its interesting how the top three are pretty consistent. But it fluctuates from there even in the rest of the top 5.
  19. CNN -- U.S. government officials are operating on an initial theory that EgyptAir Flight 804 was taken down by a bomb, two U.S. officials told CNN on Thursday. Officials said the theory could change, with one senior administration official cautioning it is not yet supported by a "smoking gun." -- U.S. intelligence officials are in contact with their French and Egyptian counterparts regarding the missing flight, a U.S. intelligence official told CNN's Jim Sciutto. They are sharing flight manifests for checks against U.S. watch lists, the official said. -- An Egyptian search aircraft has spotted two floating objects 210 nautical miles southeast of Crete, but it's unclear whether the objects are part of the missing aircraft, according to a spokesman for Greece's Hellenic National Defense General Staff. -- President Barack Obama has been briefed on the situation, said Lisa Monaco, assistant to the president for homeland security and counterterrorism. -- The airplane "swerved and then plunged" before descending into the Mediterranean, Greek Defense Minister Panos Kammenos told reporters. -- Greek controllers tried to reach EgyptAir Flight 804 about 10 miles before it left the country's airspace and for about 90 seconds after and received no response, the head of the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority told Greek broadcaster ANT1 TV. Also, one Canadian on board. Still a chance for survivors: A distress signal was detected at 4:26 a.m. -- about two hours after the jet vanished -- in the general vicinity where it disappeared, Adel said. He said the distress signal could have come from another vessel in the Mediterranean. Egyptian armed forces said they had not received a distress call. If there are any survivors, there's still a window to save them. "The water temperatures in the eastern Mediterranean near Egypt are in the low 20s Celsius (mid to low 70s F)," Javaheri said. "Survival times in such waters range from two to seven hours for the elderly or individuals in poor health, while they range anywhere from two to 40 hours for healthier individuals." A storm system could affect conditions in the region as early as Friday afternoon, Javaheri said.
  20. I like Elba. He's a good actor, physically imposing, charisma and presence. But he's too old now. Thats true Bond wasnt always big but I think the role was rather physical. Even Brosnan was physical even though he wasnt imposing. Today's sensibilities probably require a more imposing actor. I'd like to see someone who can bring back a bit more of the swagger and debonair qualities of Bond that Craig didnt have. Some sort of Brosnan/Craig combo would be nice. I think Cumberbatch could pull that off.
  21. Tom Hiddelston rumoured to be in talks to take over the role. He's a good actor but does he have the physical presence? I'd like to see Cumberbatch. I think the Elba train has left the station.
