According the victim's lawyer, they confirmed that it was the original rape kit evidence bag with the crime nurses. So it still raises questions. Is someone lying? If the bag was replaced, why and where is the official record this was done (documentation is required for every movement of the evidence). Who left it on the victim's mother's door step and why?
-
Its pretty crazy developments. Multiple possibilities though. I've seen people say someone friendly with the accuser tampered with the kit. Like come on... Then Kane's lawyer said no one on their side would do it because it prevents them from doing their own secondary testing. Yeah but you'd only do your own testing if the state's findings incriminated Kane and now the results are in question. Hopefully this was some sick hoax. But it sure seems fishy. And calls the whole evidential chain into question. Not sure how the Hawks can keep Kane around after this. Its a circus.

Some guys forget a spot or just have a bad memory for remembering it all. Kenny Omega for example, he can put together a 30 minute match in infinite detail beforehand and not forget a thing and work at full speed throughout. He can also go to the ring blind and have a killer match. It depends on the guy...some guys love laying a match our beforehand feeling it gives them a better chance to have a better match (especially if there are lots of high spots that require timing) while some like calling it in the ring. -

Washington (CNN)Mike Huckabee suggested President Barack Obama "pretends to be" a Christian in knocking the President's handling of Pope Francis' first visit to the U.S. When asked on Newsmax TV's "The Hard Line" on Tuesday about Ben Carson's comments that a Muslim should not be president of the United States, the former Arkansas governor began by saying there is no religious test for public office, but then shifted to a comment about Obama. "I'm less concerned about what faith the person has. I'm more concerned about the authenticity of their faith and how that plays out in their politics ... I'm also concerned about a guy that believes he's a Christian and pretends to be and then says he is, but then does things that makes it very difficult for people to practice their Christian faith," Huckabee said. "I'm disappointed if someone says, 'I'm a Christian,' but you invite the pope into your home and then you invite a whole bunch of people who are at odds with the Catholic Church policy. I think there's something very unseemly about that," he added. ***A guy like Huckabee is almost as dangerous as a middle eastern religious leader. And I say almost because there are certain western sensibilities that would prevent him from nuking anyone. But realistically, this kind of nutjob is awful for the religious right because it forces sane people to take what seems like an anti-Christian stance when its not that at all. I think a President's religious beliefs are important to his character and fair game to the voters. But a President should do whats best for the nation logically, fairly, using common sense and the law and constitution as a guide. Not his religion. The fact Huckabee is advocating Kim Davies ignore the Supreme Court and is accusing Obama of putting poltics ahead of religion is kind of scary. Like as President, Huckabee would put his perception of Christianity first?? He'd enforce Christianity on everyone? Yikes. -

But its not a longer contract. Its just rights holding. Sure, go to the NFL. Exhaust your options. But WE drafted you. WE invested in you. WE developed you. So if you come back, WE get dibs. And generally that second contract coming back, whether its 2 or 3 years, you'll be a free agent at the end anyway. I dont see this keeping salaries down. How many times does a Muamba come along that generates a bidding war and even then, its 2-3 teams, not 9. -

Even in WWE there are some guys who are friggen awful at calling spots subtly. Cena can be heard calling quite a bit. A benefit to WWE even on live shows is that the refs have head sets so they can communicate with agents and producers to re-do things or whatever. Oh and in WWE they call their agents "producers" now. An agent would be a guy who basically represents the office. So a few years ago for example, you'd have "road agents" who would be the boss on the house shows, telling guys what to do. House shows are generally the same every night where guys are doing basically the same finish anyway. Nowadays, an agent is assigned to every match on RAW or PPV etc. An agent could have many matches assigned to him. He relays the office's (the boss, ie Vince, Hunter etc) plans for the match and gives advice on what the match should look like, what message they are trying to get across, who should look strong etc. The agents would be in on the production meeting so would know the intent of the writers and the wishes of Vince and Hunter and convey that to their match participants. The agent would approve or deny certain ideas or moves. Sometimes an agent gets in **** for okaying something he shouldnt. Guys like Arn Anderson, Road Dogg etc are agents. They didnt use to have as many agents back in the day but they have more now with WWE being more heavily produced and scripted. There are RAW scripts or "run sheets" online if you search for them. I think it was Vince Russo who would also add directions for the camera and pyro and things like that, give direction to a guy as to how he should walk down the ramp, whether he should climb on the turnbuckles and pose etc. Its a lot more scripted now. But guys still put their matches together themselves without being handed a move for move script. Promos are generally scripted word for word in WWE. Certain guys have leeway, like Hunter obviously, Cena, Heyman, Jericho, to take the script and add or change things. Scripted promos are a bad thing in WWE because people dont find thier own voice. In indy's, like mine, I give bullet points on promos. Sometimes I have a line I love and I will tell the guy to say a certain line or I will suggest certain phrases but I want them to find their own voice so its usually "say this...but in your own words". But sometimes I insist they say certain things in a certain way. Since Im not a wrestler, putting matches together isnt my forte so I dont generally ask for specific things. For us, as an example, I'd say X vs Y, go about 12 minutes, fast paced, X over. I might add specifics like the point is for X to look super strong or give Y a couple of hope spots, have him fighting from behind and narrowly lose in the end. A finish direction might be X over clean. X taps Y out. Or X slide over. Or "slip on a banana peel" (though usually if I use that phrase its to say "I dont care how you win just not 'slip on a banana peel'". More so I explain what I want the fans to feel and they put the match together themselves. If I gave explicit instructions, every match would risk looking similar. Occasionally you;ll see a show where three matches end the same way. Thats because guys were given lots of freedom and coincidentally chose the same finish. Generally guys know to avoid each others' finisher. Sometimes we develop our own terms like Ill say "run in, superkick," which doesnt necessarily mean use a superkick, it just means a quick offensive move. Probably more often than not, direction I give is more what you *can't* do (words you cant say, things you cant do) as opposed to what you should do. But some indy's are very vanilla because the booker doesnt care or doesnt have the comfort level to give direction. I give lots of leeway on the details but its what I want to convey that I explain. "This guy should look strong" "Fans should feel this way at the end" and let the guys get there. I tell them what the picture should look like and they paint it using the color of their choice. **Also, I LOVE talking wrestling, especially the business of wrestling (one of my idols is Eric Bischoff) So feel free to ask questions! -

Not scripted move for move. In the older days, they wouldnt even go over much beforehand. They would know the finish and any key spots (run ins, ref bumps etc). In recent years with more athletic work, guys like to go over matches more in depth before hand. But generally its just talking over spots. At my shows, if you come down really early you'd catch a few guys practicing a couple of things they want to do, new moves they want to try or trying to perfect something they arent super comfortable with. In WWE, they do a lot more rehearsals now then they used to. Where they'd actually do a dry run on a match or go over it in the ring without doing the bumps. But most guys worth their salt can walk in there knowing nothing and put together a great match. Through "calling" in the ring and the fact that moves generally flow into other moves and guys can "feel" their way through a match. There are certain rules like which side you work (ie. which arm, leg, headlock side etc). So many things are standard. We did a gimmick show years ago called Lethal Lottery. if you remember, WCW did a PPV called Lethal Lottery where they drew names to determine tag team partners. And then the winners of the tag matches advanced to a battle royale. it was all rigged ofcourse. But we did it as a shoot. We had everyone geared up and ready to go before the show began and all their names in a drum. Fans drew the names live as it happened and the announcer immediately announced it. So even the boys didnt know who was going out until they heard their name. So every single match had zero advance discussion. Even the finishes were unknown. We had one veteran acting as an agent (in this case a guy named Rawskillz) and he would tell the 4th guy (last guy of a tag match) as he entered which team was going over and they'd call it in the ring. When I had my first match I was so worried about forgetting but realistically we had four "spots" worked out and everything else just connects those spots. So like in my case, we knew we'd lock up, he'd take a side headlock, work it for a bit, whip me into the ropes, I'd hold on, he'd clothesline me to the floor. Then we'd "work" around the outside for awhile til we got to a certain location for the next "spot". So nothing on the floor was discussed. We traded shots, whips into whatever, suplexes etc. It all flows naturally from one to the other and you get a sense of when to fight back, get cut off, take the advantage etc. The easiest thing to forget is to "sell". ie. if someone smashes your leg into the steel post, dont forget to keep pretending your leg is hurt all match, not just for the two minutes your opponent is working it. This happens in WWE too. And in WWE, they dont believe in selling injuries from one day to the next. So a guy goes through a hellacious match, is Tombstoned and the next night on RAW he's fine. It didnt use to be that way, its just how WWE does it now. -

Must have been a heck of an offer financially. Otherwise you'd think Freep would bend over to keep him. But really isnt it a dream job for a regional sports reporter? Sucks about H&L going three hours as it works out perfectly for me to get in the car at 4pm. I know they will replay the top stories but its fun getting their FIRST reaction to things right at 4. Good for them though. -

The PA would inherently argue against it. But they arent super powerful and really would just need to feel like they were getting a concession back in return. Raise the cap or something. -
Does the CFL need restricted free agency?
The Unknown Poster replied to Mike's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Here ya go, this cost me 27 cents MONTREAL — Henoc Muamba has earned his right to free agency. But haven’t the Winnipeg Blue Bombers also earned the opportunity to match any offer he receives? Not in today’s CFL, but it’s certainly something GMs across the league are talking about right now. The last CBA negotiation focused around the owners getting the salary cap number they wanted. But lost were a number of roster issues GMs wanted fixed. Chief among them was length of contracts for Canadian rookies and the ability of teams to have more control for a longer period of time over players they draft and develop. This isn’t a Winnipeg issue. It’s a league-wide scenario. Teams that spend money and resources on drafting and developing a Canadian-born player want the opportunity to benefit from their investment. The Bombers spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on Muamba in salary, as well as the cost connected with keeping him on the roster as a not ready for prime-time rookie and sophomore. In his third season he became a full-time starter and achieved all-star status. Then poof — he was gone to the NFL. Now his NFL opportunities have at least temporarily dried up, the Bombers are just another team in a line of many trying to sign him. Those are the rules, and it’s no fault of Muamba’s. Football careers are short and he’s right to try and leverage the situation for the best deal he can. Muamba is in a position to cash in. Good for him. But the CFL needs to look at its free-agency system as well as its entry-level contract length. Both need to be tweaked. Muamba, for example, should be a restricted free agent. He should be free to shop his abilities and generate the best offer possible. But the Bombers should have the right to match. The NFL locks up its drafted rookies for four years, with teams having a fifth-year option on first-rounders. In the CFL, players taken in the draft can sign a one-year-and-option contract. It’s not long enough. "It’s ridiculous. In no other pro sports league can a rookie become a free agent so quickly. Canadian rookies aren’t ready to play when they get drafted and most aren’t developed by the time they become free agents," said one CFL executive, who preferred to remain anonymous. "Longer deals also allow the kids to become more entrenched in the community they play in. It makes it less about geography when they get to free agency. If he plays four to five years somewhere, it gives him time to set up roots..." Canadian talent is at an all-time high as the grassroots game is thriving in this country. More year-round facilities are giving kids the opportunity to train longer and to get better earlier. There was a time when the best players in Canada had a limited career path — play at a Canadian university and then the CFL. Not now, as more and more Canadians find their way onto NCAA rosters first before making their way to the NFL. Canadian talent is key to success in the CFL. Teams need a better opportunity to retain these players. Longer first contracts and a two-tiered free agency system would go a long way to helping teams keep their Canadian cores together. It’s great Canadian football is producing the Henoc Muambas and Ben Heenans at a higher rate than we’ve seen before. Seeing them in the NFL is a source of pride for football fans in this country. The CFL, however, has to look after its own teams, and right now it’s too easy for players developed into pro players to up and leave. Great for the player, bad for the league. gary.lawless@freepress.mb.ca Twitter: @garylawless -

I remember when Hustler & Lawless jumped to 1290. It was before the Jets were even back if I recall (and definitely before TSN got the radio rights). I was having a drink with a CJOB employee friend and he said everyone at CJOB thought they were nuts and the station told them they were betting on the wrong horse. Turned out pretty good for both of them. Despite the criticism, Gary works hard and has a ton of insight. He's clearly the most connected guy in Winnipeg. I know when there is a development or even a big win or loss with the Bombers or Jets, I seek out his twitter or H&L to get his take on things. Good for him and good for Winnipeg to have the local guru deepening his national connections and presence. -

Toronto Sun: BUFFALO - The alleged victim's lawyer, Thomas J. Eoaninou, just spoke to the media in Buffalo. Below are a few important details revealed by Eoaninou. Full story to come. Eoaninou said the evidence bag holding the victim's rap kit was delivered to the victim's mother's house recently. The evidence bag was dropped off anonymously, he said. It had been ripped open and had no contents inside. Eoaninou said he wants whoever dropped off the evidence bag to come forward with more information. "This is a significant development in this case. We need to bring in the FBI or State Troopers," Eoaninou said, referring to his disgust with how the case has been handled locally. Holding up the bag, Eoaninou showed the media its markings: "That is the evidence sticker. That is the evidence bag. We confirmed it through the hospital today ... this is no hoax.” Asked about Kane's recent denial of any wrongdoing, Eoaninou said Kane is "entitled to his opinion." Eoaninou on how the public has treated the case: "This is the worst example of victim bashing that I have seen."

This is unbelievable. Sickening. The Blackhawks look even more idiotic today then at that presser a week ago. They have a big problem on their hands. If Kane is actually innocent, he has a lot of friends that are pretty stupid if they think they were helping him by tampering with evidence and trying to intimidate the accuser. What a disgrace.

The dont mean very little. They have little relation to the final roster but these games are very important, primarily this season with upwards of 3-4 rookies trying to make the team. One bad game and your dreams of making the Jets could be over.
