  1. I think the people thinking its small are seeing an optical illusion. The screens on the new one appear to be about the same size as the entire side of the old one (including frame, advertising etc). So the screens are much bigger. I saw they used the entire screen for video package and then showed a mock of an in-game screen showing the action with the score etc on the bottom 1/4 or so of the screen. I hope, unlike the Bombers, they make use of the entire screen for replays and things of that nature. Also, it sounds like a second, very large LED ribbon above the old one but it appears to not be an entire circle around the arena, but the length of the press box.
  2. That sounds impossible, is there a set of numbers that don't have an average? No but this isn't accounting and you can't learn politics by playing Number Munchers. So the ndp and liberals and communists are exactly the same? The conservatives and reform are exactly the same? How is 17to18 claiming that harper brought the torys further away from the far right of there is no gradient. Just a black and white set of binary ideologies? Not at all. There is far left, left, right, and far right. But there is no centre. And anyone claiming to be "centre" is kidding themselves. Being "center" is just a way to say you're moderate within the context of right and left. For example, if I was identifying with one party, I'd say Cons. But if you say that to certain people they think you're a right wing zealot. Im a "center" right. A way of saying I have some beliefs that lean closer to the left. The quiz results I posted indicate that. Surprised even me actually...lol
  3. Yeah, I think going into the off-season the thought was Buff would start by asking for $8m. But thats not going to happen now. Would he sign for $5.5? I think the Jets would do that. Maybe even a couple years over $6. I wonder if the Jets are wanting short term though... The problem I see is, this should have been done by the draft at the latest. I dont really fault Chevy because I think the Jets take a measured approach to their business and that will be a good thing over-all but in some cases could be a negative. They could have offered Frolik more when he signed the one year deal...but they had their plan and they stuck to it. The best window of return for Buff will be the deadline now... where you could have several teams looking for the final piece to put them over the top and win the Cup. The problem is, you're likely getting little immediate help in that return, just picks and prospects. Which isnt a bad thing I guess. If the choice came down to keeping Buff for 6+ years or being able to sign Trouba to an 8 year deal, I'd choose Trouba.
  4. http://canada.isidewith.com/political-quiz Who do you side with? Here are my results: Cons: 83% Liberals: 76% NDP:67% Libertarian: 64% And fringe parties, I came up: BQ: 70% Christian Heritage: 58% Green: 53% Communist: 23%
  5. He's also a resident of California so its amusing when he talks about "we" this and "we" that... I saw someone ask William Shatner about voting in Canada and he said he wasn't able to so he had no comment. A lot of celebrities think they are inherently wiser than the rest of the population. And they are often wrong.
  6. Problem is, these debates are big business for the networks. They love Trump because he's attracting voters. I couldnt make time to watch at all...I only saw one clip where Jeb looked like he was finally going to take part in the election campaign when he defended W to a degree and Trump...you could sort of tell he agreed, he was nodding like "okay, good point" and then countered with "I dont feel safe". I didnt see if Jeb replied, but I think if I were him my reply would be "well if you dont, take a look at who's been in the White House for 7 years". Jeb, to me, seems like the Republican's best option over all. And I think he could actually be a very effective president.
  7. @renlavoietva: Jonathan Huberdeau: 2 yrs at $2.5/$4M. 3rd highest 2 year deal coming out of Entry Level since 2004. #panthers #tvasports
  8. @ilanabanks: #DonaldSutherland tells @glasneronfilm if he COULD vote he would vote for Mulcair #cbcnewsarts http://t.co/gW3v4vlkRC
  9. If Tait has to ask he's not paying attention.
  10. lol smug media endorsing the obvious winner doesn't change anything. I'm going to turn on Fox News to get some balanced coverage of the U.S. debate tonight.
  11. 19. Boy did Winnipeg’s Nik Ehlers coast through his first two games at that tournament. But he finished well, leading a couple of scouts to laugh that Ehlers was letting everyone know he’d be more competitive at the main camp. Also: “He’s stronger than you’d think.” -Friedman
  12. 13. Very interesting word got out that Boston’s three first-rounders —Jakub Zboril, Jake DeBrusk and Zach Senyshyn — failed their conditioning tests. As a former NHL strength coach once said, “Failed tests only get out when the organization wants them to get out.” - Friedman
  13. Walters distinctly said they had invited mamba to visit.
  14. Gee lucky break for the Kings who seem likely to lose the Richards grievance and will have that contract back on the books. Has one team ever had to terminate two players contracts in one season before?
  15. Not if you really believe in it. It's not emotional for me. If that was my child would I want to rip his throat out? Ofcourse. But unemotionally and taking God out of the debate we can't have a death penalty when we've convicted innocent people. Period.
  16. Lower taxes. Pro gay marriage. Decriminalize pot (I'm not a Smoker at all, never have been). Tough on crime. Support business. Anti death penalty. Pro life.
  17. @WiebeSunSports: Here are the terms for former #NHLJets F Jiri Tlusty. one-year, one-way deal for $800,000. Made $2.95 mil last year https://t.co/GSAR6jERDG That's quite a pay cut. I see why he took so long but I guess the offers just weren't tnere. Great deal for Devils.
  18. @theScore: The Devils have signed Jiri Tlusty to a 1-year deal. http://t.co/aXRwnMDGy3http://t.co/sp2p0KXqhT $800,000
  19. If not Copp at 4th line center then who? I guess....Burmi, Olsen, Petan. But it will be Copp.
  20. Locally, they ARRESTED a kid and put two schools on lock down for horseplay that resulted in his close friend being "stabbed" in shops class. Good grief. is there no common sense?
  21. I think center is used like you said, to a degree. Because there are a lot of farther winged lobbyists and whatnot out there. When you get sub-cliques, its human nature to want to slot people or groups into a designation. Look at the Tea Party. I think center is often used to describe a moderate approach to any issue. Both sides, Cons and NDP, have their wingnuts. No doubt. if people close to the parties had extremist views, I dont think that is unimportant though. Because those people have influence. If someone was nuts, you';d hope a moderate party would disassociate with that person. if they dont, there is an association and its fair to ask questions. In the case of the manifesto, there are certainly enough people close to the NDP for it to be relevant as far as saying these are opinions shared by this particular party. I dont think a majority NDP would eliminate fossil fuels. They couldnt. And they'd be tossed if they tried. But they could hinder that industry. That's not an evil perspective...I dont hate them for feeling that way. Its a political position. And its fair to consider when deciding how to vote.
  22. I wont discount the fact that most media is biased. But there's a responsibility to report the bare minimum of news. This isnt like Russia where they shoot down a jet and then pretend it didnt happen. The CBC is the worst offender because they are public, not private, and have such an obvious agenda. Even if you're a left wing person, Im not sure anyone could argue the CBC serves a useful purpose. I used to love re-runs of Kate & Ally as much as the next guy and Degrassi was awesome. But really.... I think my point was that everyone is biased but the majority of mainstream news is left-slanted biased. If they were all right biased, I'd be okay admitting that with a thumbs up. nah it's slanted to the center, you're slanted to the right. Not a chance! You're slanted waaaaay to the left if thats what you think. Since, as 17 pointed out, Harper pulled the Cons closer to center, then the media would not be so Anti-Harper if they were center. Certainly not as much as they are. Like I said, not all media but most of it is left of center. CTV news and the globe and mail aren't some big commie propaganda machine, 17 to 85 didn’t prove ****. Closer to center does not equal the center, its still right of center. You don't understand where the center is. I know its not where you say it is because you're left of center. If you dont think there is a general mainstream media bias against the Cons, you're way too left for your own good because it's blinding you. Thats like me saying FOX News is very balanced politically. I like FOX to a degree but Im not going to pretend they arent right wing. ok, riddle me this? What is the most centerist pary in Canada? Is it the cons? if so what is the most right wing part in Canada? If the cons are right wing what is in the middle? An empty void? This anti conservative bias you claim is nothing moret that a result of how Harper chooses to act with the media. I dont claim it. It exists. You admit this by providing a cause. I dont disagree that the media has their collective panties in a bunch because Harper doesnt pay them a lot of lip service. But it would be nice if media reported news without a bias based on how easy the government makes their job. If you claim the media isnt bias, thats the end of the discussion. No point in continuing.

  25. Sounds like the issue is, he took out all this debt, never paid it back and now wants to move forward without having to pay it. So the questions are, what did he do with all his money, why cant he pay back his legal obligations, why should he be able to move forward debt free making millions of dollars and not have to re-pay his lenders.
