Despite a week of headlines from the Mike Duffy trial, questions over energy projects, and worrying economic reports, the parties showed little change in their national numbers, according to the latest Nanos Research weekly ballot tracking. Here are the latest numbers, with the percentage-point change from the previous week in brackets: Conservatives: 30.1 per cent (-1.7) Liberals: 29.9 per cent (+1.2) NDP: 29.1 per cent (+0.1)

Sure, why not. Whatever. WWE Network and Wrestlemania

I thought they might have Ambrose turn to try and get Roman more over. That would be the WWE mentality to try and put everyone else under instead of doing whats needed to get a guy over. The funny thing is Ambrose has been more over and is a better worker than Roman from day one but Ambrose wasnt the "chosen one". -

Turn Roman heel. Have him chase Cena. Seth needs to stand on his own and not be Hunter's little buddy. Owens is a natural heel too. -

They are very afraid to try new things or even things that historically work. They wont turn Cena heel because he sells so much merch (never mind Austin or nWo). They wont turn him because they dont have a top face replacement but they never give anyone the chance to be a top face replacement. They botched Roman Reigns right from the start of his singles push by cramming him down the fans' throats. Okay, so be it. Did the same thing with The Rock. But they fixed the Rock by turning him heel and letting him get over. They desperately need to let Roman turn heel. Especially since Ambrose is so over as a face. Maybe the big angle tonight is Roman heel turn. Talk of Sting too, who is reportedly in tremendous shape and was supposed to work SummerSlam but plans changed. -

WWE is very stuck in the out-dated idea that a "new" person has to pay their dues by losing. The crowd is screaming for Sasha so her team gets eliminated. Just goofy. -
I bet Buffalo got added to the list around the time Kane got traded there. lol

Just saw that too. Haven't seen it reported anywhere reputable but will check into it. It would not surprise me. Even if Cena didnt specifically make the request, it would not surprise me if a writer pushed for something because they think Cena wants it. ie. booking what you think the top guy wants. It did seem weird that the Bellas were suddenly being portrayed as these awesome workers who were the ones saving the division. And most of us said from the start Charlotte should have squashed Nikki on Day One. -
We could also target teams that have an over-paid player on an expiring contract and take him back to help them clear space.

http://www.winnipegsun.com/2015/08/23/politicians-cant-figure-out-how-to-implement-universal-child-care Promising Canadians a national “universal” child care program may make for good politics. But ask any politician to tell you how it would actually work — and who would pay for it — and you’ll get nothing but empty platitudes. If a national child care system capped at $15 a day for everyone and anyone who wants it seems too good to be true, it’s because it is. It’s snake oil and it’s being peddled around the country by sneaky, deceptive politicians who hope to trick people into thinking they could ever get such a plan off the ground. The most obvious impediment to a national “universal” child care system is that child care is a provincial jurisdiction. Provinces already run highly regulated and well-funded child care programs. The reason federal parties want to horn in on those is because child care is a motherhood and apple pie issue and politicians like the NDP’s Thomas Mulcair are looking for ways to capitalize on it politically. The strings — like the $15 cap — would have to be negotiated with the provinces. The NDP is proposing to cover 60% of the cost of each new child care spot if the provinces adhere to whatever conditions are set. In Manitoba, for example, parents pay a regulated price of $20.80 a day for a pre-school child in a licenced, regulated child care centre that receives provincial government funding. Under the $15-a-day scheme, the province would have to agree to bring those prices down to $15. Obviously the provinces would demand compensation for that In order to expand child care capacity so that everyone and anyone who wants a child care space could get one, the province would have to build more child care centres. Who’s going to pay for those? Would they be cost-shared with the feds? Neither the NDP nor the Liberals, who proposed a national child care program 10 years ago, have answers to any of those questions. They just keep telling us the details would be “negotiated” with the provinces. Under the NDP’s national plan, how long would people have to wait? A year? Three years? No one knows. What’s being proposed is that every Canadian who wants a child care spot would be able to get one in a price-regulated, one-size-fits all national program. And that’s pure folly.

Dunn is an odd looking guy. I dont find him particularly good at his job either. WWE production is very slick but it changed when **** Ebersol was in charge of WWE on NBC. He taught them how to bring their production up. Dunn's weird camera angles and decisions dont help them. And supposedly he is also very sexist and has been the guy pushing the decline of the women's division. He's one of those guys that kisses up to Vince by telling him what he thinks he wants to hear. Like Kevin Owens is too fat to be a top guy. And whats funny about that is, the old Hunter would totally have agreed. Kevin Nash recently criticised Owens using the old mantra of, to be a top guy girls should want to be with you and guys should want to be you. Nash said that wasnt true with Owens. But today's wrestling business is different. But Hunter is the guy that cut the balls off of Steiner, Punk, Booker, Jericho, Angle and even in some cases Austin and Hogan. Hunter's thing was never "if I make this guy a big star then I look like a bigger star too", it was "if I cut this guys balls off then I look bigger next to him". Thank goodness he has changed...in some regards. -

Not only face in NXT and heel in WWE, he changes allignment week to week on RAW, almost segment to segment. The idea is he and Steph are above everyone else and are "legit" and in business sometimes you're a heel and sometimes you're a face. But wrestling has a specific way it works and their constant changing and tweening waters down the people they work with, most notably Seth Rollins. Funny you mention Hunter/Vince. That was the original idea last year. Vince was going to choose Austin as his proxy and the company control would be on the line at WrestleMania, Austin vs Hunter. Austin declined and Vince has been shy about being on TV. He's older and smaller. But I agree, thats the last money angle they have right now...Vince vs Hunter. Bring back SHANE! -
Jets are 3rd lowest in cap. So we're doing ok. Cap will go up, even its its small increases. We have Scheif, Lowry and Trouba to sign next year. Lowry wont hurt us and I think Scheif will be pretty easy too. Unless he has a monster year, he's going to get a modest contract and it should be an easy negotiation. Trouba will be the big question. Does he sign a bridge deal or do the jets go all in on an eight year big dollar contract? I cant see keeping both Ladd and Buff unless one takes significantly lower than fair market value. Buff's personality would lend itself to the idea he'd take less if he was happy. But at his age, he's nuts if he doesnt hustle for every cent he can get for as many years as he can get it. This is likely his biggest money contract and last chance to cash in.

Its not so much me disliking Hunter. I think NXT is great and NXT is his baby. There are certain differences. For example, a much, much smaller writing team. Ryan Ward writes NXT. Dusty Rhodes was involved too before he died. And ofcourse Hunter is involved creatively. But Ryan Ward has received a lot of praise for his booking. I dont know who does the production in NXT either. Kevin Dunn is the executive producer of all WWE television but I believe someone else does NXT so it looks different. I agree, it has a very cool look to it. Darker. And I like their set and entrance too. Dunn is generally considered a very negative influence on WWE creative and is very, very tight with Vince. Reportedly, Steph and Hunter cant stand him though, which would make sense that Hunter has other people in charge of NXT. I sense a bit of a rivalry between Vince and Hunter. The NXT show during WrestleMania weekend, Vince attended and was supposedly very unhappy with anti-RAW chants etc. He's also a size-nut and NXT features smaller or less muscular guys. Hunter was very sheepish when asked about Charlotte's RAW debut when she lost a short match (terrible way to debut). He also said just last week that "Vince is Vince" and will take whomever he wants. Reportedly he also told Kevin Owens when he signed that while Hunter thought he was a great worker, he would have a hard time getting over with Vince because of how he looked. Hunter's problem has always been how he sees himself, not how he sees others. He is really good at booking other people to get over. Its when he's involved that he is generally pretty bad and ego-driven. Even the show open of NXT Takeover on Saturday, i thought was silly. Hunter doing the cold-open. Im cool with him being the "man of the people" but then dont also be a heel on RAW. It doesnt work. One or the other. As for Brock/Taker finish, the reason it was flat is because the time keeper never, ever, ever rings the bell because he sees a tap out or finish. So it made zero sense to do that, especially with the ref in the midst of counting a pinfall. Can you think of time the time keeper ever rang the bell to end a match rather then the match ending normally? I can. Montreal Screwjob, when Vince ordered the time keeper to do so. But thats not the case here. So in that sense, the finish comes across like they had to come up with a way to get out of a clean finish and didnt know how so chose a way that sort of works but also doesnt. Tonight's follow up will be key in getting it over. Also, word is there is something major planned for tonight's RAW. It's also Vince's 70th birthday today which may or may not be related. -

The only way hanging on to Buff and losing him to free agency is anything but a massive failure is if the Jets keep him and go deep into the playoffs and he's a major reason why. And even then...the argument would be that what you get back could have helped you too. My worry is how long the Jets tried to keep Kane knowing for at least two years he didnt want to be here and at least some of the locker room didnt want him here. And they only traded him when the players basically threw him out of the locker room and the player himself quit on the team during a playoff push. If that hadnt happened, Kane might still be here. I appreciate patience, but sign Ladd and trade Buff and be done with it. And you're right about the unique situation with Kane. Buffalo WANTED to trade for a great player who couldnt play the rest of the season. It worked out great for them. Trade two good pieces for futures helped Buffalo compete for number one in the draft. had Kane been healthy, Im not sure Buffalo would have done the deal. How much space does Boston have? Some rumors that they are looking for D help and willing to give up forward talent.

"Greg and his government have done an amazing job". How is that not THE headline on every newspaper, news broadcast, blog post, twitter, etc in Manitoba today? If Im the Conservative (and liberal) candidates in Manitoba, thats my main talking point. Do you want a federal NDP government that thinks Greg Selinger has done an amazing job?

Hopefully Vince never takes an interest in NXT. -
The thing with Buff is, there is a gamble. if you wait til the trade deadline, you have fewer teams involved but you probably get a stronger bidding war among those fewer teams. So you have the potential for a good return. But I'd rather trade him now. Teams are more open to making salary cap adjustments though we're getting past that now. The biggest gambles with waiting is injury or if the Jets are on the bubble and Buff is playing really well. The Jets would be inclined to keep him for a playoff run and lose him for nothing which would be a major fail. Trade him now.

I'd like to know why more isn't being made about the $2.7 million that those 68 Quebec NDP MP's funneled out of the Parliamentary Office into Quebec. The NDP were caught dead to rights lying about the location of their employees, and were told by the governing body to pay it back, and yet they refuse. It's total bullshit. The NDP's callous disregard for taxpayer funds is just sickening. But yet, there's the media, totally ignoring it. Its absolutely hilarious and the easiest example of media bias. Harper gets asked aboyut the Duffy trial at every campaign stop. We're tlaking $90,000 that Harper immediately ordered Dufty to pay back, booted him out and now we have a trial. if anything, the Conservatives should be applauded for how they handled it. The NDP refuse to pay back MILLIONS and no one asks them about it. I suspect the Cons might be saving it for later in the campaign but Im surprised Harper doesnt reply to every Duffy question with a question about the NDP. There is a Free press story going around, behind their pay wall so I havent read it, but what I glean is the federal NDP think highly of the provincial NDP's economic record? Yikes. There ya go, Manitobans. If you wouldnt want Selinger as Prime Minister, dont vote for Mulcair's NDP.

Yes, good show. Im surprised it took them this long to treat SummerSlam like a summer WrestleMania. In the era of the Network, they need to now. Jon Stewart...well, he's a wrestling fan so he doesnt treat it like a joke. Its sort of a negative to do a gimmick finish like that in such a huge match but it should garner a lot of publicity and Rollins should get the rub. Im shocked Hunter wasnt involved. Rollins put on a wrestling clinic last night. Brock/Taker was good. Didnt like the finish. But it sets up WrestleMania. Im not sure the fans will care as much by then but lets assume it's a retirement match and/or Hell in the Cell. The problem with the Divas is WWE still doesnt respect women. Which you'd think is weird since Linda McMahon was President for years and Stephanie McMahon is a Board member, Chief Brand Officer and was head of creative for years. But Steph isnt a femminist by any stretch. The fans wanted to cheer for the really talented women in NXT but WWE had to treat the Bella's like equals and it really brought the whole concept down. Plus, it was AJ Lee who tweeted a criticism at Stephanie that started the so-called DIVA's Revolution, but WWE had to make it like Steph was a feminist and started it...now that its failing, they are trying to say the Bella's started the revolution. It's silly. Charlotte should have squashed Nikki for the Diva's title on Day One, then threw the belt in the trash saying she isnt a Diva and isnt wearing a purple butterfly belt. And then feud with Sasha who should be tapped as the long time future Women's Champion. Steph and Hunter are in love with Ronda Rousey but actually cant stand UFC and didnt know who Ronda was until someone introduced them. They have no idea how to promote strong women. And these "Team Whatever" names are lame as hell. Sasha, Charlotte, Becky and Bailey call themselves the Four Horsewomen. Thats what WWE should be using. Bring in Tully's daughter, put Ric Flair and Arn Anderson with them and push the Four Horsewomen. -
You're totally right
