Someone needs to be. The majority of mainstream media is the official propaganda department for the NDP. Kidding aside, I've voted for all three parties in my life. Propaganda doesnt impact my decision. I vote for who will do the best job overall. A "tax first, ask how to pay for it later" NDP government that would decimate one of the countries leading industries, reignite the seperatist movement in Quebec and thumb their nose at our global allies is not the government for me. But its still early. In other news: http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/politics/globe-election-forecast-2015/article25377958/?click=sf_globe If the election happened today, there is a ... 56%chance that the Conservatives get the most seats 38%chance that the NDP gets the most seats 8%chance that the Liberals gets the most seats 27%chance that the Green party gets more than one seat 92%chance that the Liberals and NDP have a majority together 24%chance that the Bloc regains official party status (more than 12 seats)

Believe me, I know all about the cess pool that is Grinder (not me personally). I imagine Tinder is much the same. I know my buddy often laments he can never meet a nice guy for a quality relationship and I say oh how do you meet people? "Grinder". There's your answer.

Harper became aware of spending issues, ordered senators to repay the questionable expenses. Was unaware Wright paid Duffy. If anything, Harper's hands are clean here. Just because the left leaning media keeps asking the questions hoping for a different answer doesnt mean Harper is lying. If we want to look at party members to judge the leader, here are some examples: Erin Weir: "Canadians who favour lower greenhouse gas emissions might thank OPEC for imposing a global carbon tax that far outstrips anything environmentalists have been able to implement." Seonaugh MacPherson: "In my view, the notion that we serve the "middle class" is equally as problematic" Linda McQuaig: "So the claim "its my money - I earned it" is not only embarrassingly egotistical but essentially wrong" Andrew Seagram: "Idolizing our soldiers as heroes, a God like stature on par with Hercules, is as dangerous as proselytizing a suicide bomber as a martyr" Scott Andrews: "The tar sand emit more carbon emissions than some European countries alone. Those dirty sting baggers should be scaled down over a few years until they are no more." Scott Andrews: "Your prime Minister might be an ******* when he says stuff like 'Israel is a light of freedom and democracy in what is otherwise a region of darkness'" Scott Andrews: "Time for a boycott" (Speaking on Israel) Seonaigh MacPherson: "Oil continues to soil our democracy" Erin Weir: "I feel no hypocrisy in applauding the efforts of bot OPEX and Canpotex to raise commodity prices" Erin Weir: "Income splitting would undermine the economic independence of women" Hans Marotte: "When a Palestinian asks me to sign his declaration of support for the intifada, I see how important it is not to close in on oneself" Additionally, Morgan Wheeldon resigned after his Anti-Israel remarks gained attention. Liberal candidate Ala Buzerba also stepped down after some nasty twitter posts were revealed. There is an uncomfortable amount of anti-Israel (bordering on defense of terrorists and rogue nations) and anti-Alberta sentiment in the left. Im not sure Canadians understand how badly the NDP wants to decimate the oil industry or what that might do to the Canadian economy. These are all legitimate positions that voters can choose to support or not. But they are far more important to this election than the Duffy trial. So you read the meetthendp website too huh? Yes, in fact I posted a link here previously. And I googled some other things too. Its pretty easy to do. I by no means intended to convey that I somehow followed all those candidates around and took notes as they spoke live. Ofcourse I got it online.

If Ladd signs a long term deal with the Jets, I could see him staying a Jet for life. Even if at 36/37 he isnt that good, Jets will keep him around. He will get the Mike Keane treatment. Teemu was the victim of idiot American owners who couldnt afford both Teemu and Keith Tkachuk and kept the wrong player. For Buff: Mid six talented winger, Top 4 D, top prospect

Flames/Stampeders $890 million Complex: Watch Here
The Unknown Poster replied to iso_55's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
When the Jets were here, the city was a black hole for much of the 80s and 90s. In the early 2000s, the city and province began growing again primarily due to the provincial nominee program. Jets did not create some sort of economic boom when they came back though some like to spin that narrative. Correct. However, the success of the Jets downtown has caused increased development in the area by the owners of the team. -
That's where I differ. My opinion is they are both equally important to this team for similar and unique reasons which will be challenging to replace based on current market availability. Myers is a more consistent D-man than Buff. Younger, cheaper. Buff is better offensively right now but Myers' has more long term upside. Having Myers, along with Trouba's development makes Buff expendable.

Ashley Madison had claimed 50% split between male and female users. Hackers discovered that if you remove all the fake accounts that it was really 95% male. I would bet that Winnipeg would probably be very small probably under 10 000. Most of the govt addresses were proven fake. Who were all those men sleeping with? Like, why keep a paid account if you're not having any success.... Or were the other 5% just super whores or something? or were a significant number of the 95% gay? Before I was with my current gf, there wasnt really these easy dating/hook up apps. I think Hot or Not was the thing back then. They made you have to pay to actually put a real email address on it but there were easy ways around it. Now, my buddy is a **** magnet on grinder and everyone has gotten laid on POF. Fortunately, I worked in bars so hot girls came to me lol

Subway Spokesman's Home Raided

http://nypost.com/2015/08/19/ill-timed-subway-game-lets-kids-play-with-jared-fogles-pants/ Kids could play with Jared Fogle’s pants in an ill-timed online game that was still live on Subway’s website Wednesday — the same day it was alleged the ex-pitchman possessed kiddie porn and solicited minors for sex. The free “Jared’s Pants Dance” game, which has since been removed from Subway’s kids site, featured a pair of Fogle’s blue jeans which are used to catch sandwiches, bottles of water and other snacks for points. -
Its only because Nigel Wright was so close to Harper. If it wasnt Wright, they'd be hard pressed to try and connect Harper. They'd try and say Duffy illegally expensed a haircut and the barber happens to also be the barber for Harper's wife so Harper is complicit. Wright has said under oath that Harper didnt know. End of story.
-
Im sure Harper had more knowledge than he wants to openly say. But probably along the lines of "repay your expenses." "But..." "Shhhh, dont want to hear it. Take care of this. Keep me out of it." It really has little to do with Harper. Duffy screwed up. Duffy broke the rules. Duffy should consider himself lucky that Wright was willing to help him out. Every party has misbehaving candidates. The Cons seem to dump them pretty quickly. Realistically, I'd suggest Canadians dont care that much because they might see this as a waste of time. Pay back the expenses. Where is the media scrutiny on Mulcair who refuses to have the NDP repay the $2.7 million in inappropriate expenses? Funny that the media hounding Harper on a matter that is presently before the courts, doesnt seem too concerned about that.

We've seen speculation on what Buff wants so lets assume the Jets have had at least cursory talks with the agent. Ladd is more important and surely impacts an offer to Buff. Get Ladd signed. Then move on to Buff. It could be they've decided to trade Buff and have been quietly working on it.

If I understand that, they mean I could sign up using YOUR email address. Hmmm. if thats true, its another strike against Ashley Madison for NOT sending verification emails. I guess the argument to using your legitimate email address is if you're actually "buying" an account, you're providing your real credit card number so why not. Or people are signing up "in the moment" and dont go to the trouble of creating a "fake" email address for this one thing. Or they have a secure email address (meaning their spouse doesnt have access) so what does it matter if they use their real one. And I'd suspect that for the people using work email its either their only email address or they figure its safer in that their spouse will never access it. I know several people who share one email address between spouses or who have liberal access to each other's email. There is only about a billion places out there you can get a free "new" email address. Surely most people have heard of gmail or hotmail or yahoo mail. Oh I agree. But I just think that might be part of the reason. Especially if you travel and have your work computer and/or phone with you. You can also get a throw-away credit card too. but people are stupid. The first celebrity outed? Josh Duggar.
-
Well that is pretty telling. Assume they mean Ehlers on the 3rd line. Burmi too. But whos taking that 4LW spot? I'd love to see Stemp there. Stemp-Copp-Thorburn looks like a decent 4th line to me. I know Halischuk plays there sometimes but didnt he sign a two-way deal?
-
Im actually surprised how well the Liberals are doing considering what a disaster Trudeau is. I think the idea that both the Cons and NDP are "extreme" does resonate with many Canadians. Even if either of those parties try to move closer to center, the Liberals are sort of the default center position in the consciousness of most Canadians. I know when I used to vote Liberal, I felt that to an extent. The NDP are polling huge in Quebec. I wonder if that huge popularity there might be skewing the national polls a bit. ie. they win big in Quebec but not enough to win nationally.

People care, I guess, for a few reasons. It's salacious. its sexual and sex sells. And people are generally mistrustful. But I agree, I think the bigger issue is the hack. I think the theft of personal information and public release is worse than the service the website provides. The hackers claim to be doing it for some morally just purpose but the thought is, this is an inside job from a disgruntled former employee. I mean, if you're going to target nasty websites, why is the dirty still online?
-
So 50,000 Winnipeggers were signed up on this site. Many government and military email addresses were used. Anyone want to fess up to being a member?

How so? I dont think the Duffy trial resonates with Canadians. The media coverage of a private citizen who doesnt represent the party is sort of amusing in an "angry old guy yells at clouds" but more sad that the media covers that more than legitimate candidates. The Liberals just had a candidate have to step down due to things she said online. And the NDP continue to have candidates sticking their feet in their mouths but the mainstream media isnt covering it. The biggest issue facing the Conservatives is the false sense of "change" that happens when a party has been in office for a long time and generally has no bearing on how that party performs. The media loves the "change" narrative too. A lot of younger "voters" are very anti-Harper but it will be interesting to see how many of them actually vote as that is not a demo that generally votes routinely. Most of the political opinion I see on Facebook (twitter is a bit different) is Anti-Harper but in a very basic sense. In other words, people post comments or meme's about "get this man out of office" or "Only you can stop Harper" with no reasoning as to why, no messaging about Conservative policy or even support for opposition. Just "Stop Harper", which has been going on for years and never stuck to them. But Jack Layton served the NDP well and made them legitimate and I think that's the problem for the Cons this election. But it's early. I'd think the Cons would have a strategy. Their policy announcements are more clear and concise then the opposition right now. But the mostly left-leaning media isnt that interested. Either way, at this point we're headed for a minority government, probably NDP which would be historic and unfortunate. The Liberals made a big mistake in choosing Trudeau because they'd be making a lot of ground right now with a better leader.

Took a plea deal to avoid the maximum. Recommended sentence under the deal is 5-12 years. Judge hasnt indicated whether he will accept the deal yet but they usually do. Presumably Jared wanted to avoid an awful lot of nasty details coming out and the risk of a life sentence. -
U.S. Federal Election

Not sure this supports the idea Trump hates women and minorities: http://money.cnn.com/2015/08/17/news/companies/donald-trump-mark-zuckerberg-immigration/index.html?iid=ob_homepage_deskrecommended_pool&iid=obnetwork Donald Trump has a new target for his criticism of the nation's immigration policies - Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg.Zuckerberg is one of the leading tech executives who has called for a more open immigration policy. Specifically, he wants to make more H-1B visas available to tech employers so they can hire foreign skilled workers. Trump said he wants to require employers to pay H-1B workers much more money, which he said would discourage companies from hiring them and boost job prospects for Americans. He also wants to have tech jobs offered to unemployed Americans before they can be filled by workers with H-1B visas. "This will improve the number of black, Hispanic and female workers in Silicon Valley who have been passed over in favor of the H-1B program. Mark Zuckerberg's personal Senator, Marco Rubio, has a bill to triple H-1Bs that would decimate women and minorities," Trump wrote in his immigration plan Trump says that there are plenty of graduates with degrees in science, technology, engineering and math, known as STEM, to fill tech jobs. That means that employers don't need H-1B visas to fill jobs, and are using them instead to keep wages low. Employers are supposed to pay a typical wage to anyone hired under a H-1B visa. But in reality, employees on these visas are typically paid 20 to 45% less than U.S. workers who they are are often replacing, said Ron Hira, a Howard University public policy professor who has studied the visa's pay scale.
