Why? Maybe cause Pav has not changed his style of play? Im more of a Pavs fan than not. But I felt that if he was under-performing expectations for two or three years then maybe it was time to change the coach, not hope the same player in the same system with the same coach suddenly improves. But Im not outraged or anything. Hopefully it works out.

It's not about squeezing an extra prospect. It's about killing our own chances. You're not getting bodies back that will help you at the deadline. Not to mention the balance of power ends up solely with the player.

They are crazy if they wait for the deadline because then they end up in the Frolik conundrum. Do you trade a guy you need for your own playoff push and the damage it does to the team psyche to trade a top guy in a playoff battle? Or keep him and lose him for nothing? You can't be in that position.

Any player that doesn't want to be here, it's not unique to Winnipeg. Every team has players that didn't want to be there for whatever reason. Kunitz put Toronto on his no trade list. Mike green is way over paid. Saw one analysis that called him a declining #4 dman on the caps to the highest paid dman on the wings. The TSN guys were all calling the Frolik contract a huge win for his agents while Acknowledging they'd all want him on their team. So it seemed to surprise them he got that much. I think we're conditioned to it bexause everyday we heard he wanted $5m so 4.3 seems like a deal. Justin Williams would have been great here. I think maybe the signing of Burmi and the desire to use Ehlers closed up a hole for the jets.

The problem is you end up in another Frolik scenario if you keep buff until his contract runs out. If you get the deadline with the jets battling for a playoff spot what do you do? It would be a terrible position to be in. Buff isn't frolik. They have to make a decision before the season begins.

Imagine the people getting hot and bothered over Frolik. Now times it by 1000 if the jets let buff play out his final season. Sign or trade.

Jets don't need Buff to sell tickets.
