Miz is only stale because of how he's booked. The problem with WWE is they dont push guys based on "whats best for business", there's politics. Loads of politics. Miz is great and has tons of talent. But if you book a guy like a jobber dont wonder why he's seen as a jobber. Same with Ziggler. Start & stop pushes and he's still over because he's talented. When he won the elimination match for his team a few months back to boot the Authority, he was never hotter, but he wasnt the chosen one. Look at Ambrose. More over than Reigns. More talented than Reigns. Better talker than Reigns. But Reigns is the chosen one. Fans like talent. Cheering for a heel is never a bad thing. I've had heels work for me that it aggravated me when they were cheered because it impacts other guys and programs but my philosophy is any reaction is better than no reaction. We tell the stories we want to tell and the fans decide what they decide. WWE doesnt do that usually. Rusev got over. But so did Lana so they had to be split because Vince loved Lana. And now she's not over nearly as much and he wont be either. Its silly. Its sort of a cruel joke they play on workers in relationships, split them up, put them with other performers in romantic relationships. Both Lana and Ziggler are dating other performers so its almost a rib on them to have them play kissy face on TV (Im fine with it, because they are actors but if its done just to be dicks, then dont do it). Back during the brand split, they would sometimes split up relationships by brand so the two people would never see each other, just to be dicks. And they always have this weird thing about making people prove they "want" success. For example, Bray Wyatt comes in, super over...give him a push...then pull him way back and see if he has an attitude about it. They do that almost always when debuting new guys and all it does it burn money. Neville debuts. Stupid gimmick so he needs all the help he can get but lose, lose, lose, lose, lose...win. Well that win meant nothing by then. Although Vince wanted Neville to play Mighty Mouse so it could always be worse.

Three episodes into Orange season 3 and it's pretty lousy. Did they change writers? It's not the same show it was.

They also turned him three years ago. The problem is the crowd that boos him might cheer him as a heel. And that's because they missed the boat on the turn. But they could do it still, just not as effectively as a few years ago. Angry, frustrated heel Cena could work.

Who said anything about getting rid of fall football? Its the winter football that sucks. From a business perspective it makes a lot of sense. What's attendance like in Late October? There is infinitely more opportunity to sell out a couple of June ganes then give away free tickets in late October or early November. Winter starts December 21. June is usually a combo of oppressive heat and storms when the cold fronts finally appear. I don't think it's necessarily an easier sell than October for regular season. Meaningful games in October and November will sell in most CFL cities, and where they don't sell changing the schedule would make little difference. That hasnt been my experience in June.

Very good match last night. I would have had Owens go over since he's the NXT champion, the new guy and I think then you have Cena do the "questioning himself" gimmick and demanding a rematch, Owens blows him off, Cena offers to finally put the US title on the line (which also makes the point of them being non-title matches mean something). Owens accepts. Cena wins the 3rd match. Leads to a fourth match which Owens wins. And suddenly its the best program of 2015. But as it was done, it was still good.

With TSN no longer owning NHL rights, you'd think they wouldn't mind competing with the Stanley Cup Finals. yeah but would the CFL?

Definitely would rather be sitting outside watching football right now rather then late october/November. In guess their key consideration might be the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

****Spoiler Alert**** Cast List for X-Files, now shooting in Vancouver: David Duchovny, Gillian Anderson, Joel McHale, Mitch Pileggi, Annabeth Gish, Nicholas Lea, and William B. Davis. Interesting. Gish played Agent Reyes on the show. Lea played Alex Krycek on the show and was shot in the face and killed, later appearing as a ghost. William Davis is ofcourse, Cancer Man who also died though was never shown dead (his home blew up). Very disappointed there is no Robert Patrick!

Who, Chase De Leo? He's a skilled player who will be seasoning with the Moose for a couple of years. One thing Ive noticed is, we have several small forwards coming up. The Jets mantra seemed to be size and speed. Ehlers, Petan, De Leo...others? Interesting, there was a recent article about size not being as big a concern in the NHL now.

Glendale beginning to explore booking acts into the arena this fall. They now feel there is no arena agreement and thus the Coyotes have nowhere to play this upcoming season. Very interesting. Its all a game. So Glendale is trying to force the Coyotes to renegotiate a better lease deal. Coyotes will simply go to court and seek an injunction to allow them to continue under the terms of the lease and then get the heck out in 2016. I wonder if they'd consider making a deal to play in PHX this season...

Fantastic, long time actor. Was still working to this day, having signed for a movie this year. I actually just ordered Airport '77 because I fondly remember that movie terrifying me as a kid...and it stars Christopher Lee!

That hasnt been the consensus from what I've seen. He put guys over. But when he was the boss (booker) people were going to have issues. Nature of the beast. For example, he and Flair were super close back in the day, put each other over several times. Then Dusty became booker and wanted to phase Flair out. Caused heat between them. But I guarantee today Flair would tell you they were best friends the whole time. Dusty was stubborn too. His "Dusty finish" helped kill the territory. He got himself fired when TV execs demanded no blood or excessive violence and he had the Road Warriors stab him in the eye with a spike. Ironically, his son Dustin also was fired for blading when blading was banned (when wrestling Bunkhouse Buck on the back of a moving truck). Dustin and Dusty were estranged for many years, reportedly because Dusty didnt approve of Dustin's then wife Terri Runnels. But Dusty seemed to have gained a second career in recent years working in Florida teaching promos and helping book NXT. If you remember the Cody Rhodes angle from a couple years back that resulted in Dustin being brought back, you'll remember Dusty also appeared on RAW confronting HHH and Steph. He pissed Steph off by putting his hand up to her face in a "shut up" gesture while doing a face to face with Hunter (ie. essentially dismissing Steph). She was irate and Dusty rarely, if ever, appeared on live TV again after that. Which is too bad because the segment was great and Dusty was 100% correct. Bruised egos though...

Definitely the NBA would do better in Vegas but thats why the NHL wants in there. Be first. All focus on the NHL team. I think if I went to Vegas and there was a game I didnt want to see but my hotel gave me comps or I won them or they were 2 for 1 or some other marketing gimmick, I might. I agree in principle but remember its a very small percentage of the 3 million tourists you need to go to a game. I think it could become the cool thing to do. I love Vegas so Im pulling for them.

Wrestlingobserver.com Paul Levesque on Twitter just announced the passing of Dusty Rhodes. Dusty Rhodes was one of the most charismatic pro wrestlers in history and among the most popular wrestlers and biggest drawing cards of the 70s and 80s. Rhodes, born Virgil Riley Runnels Jr., but taking his name from a baseball star of an earlier era, was 69. The only details we've heard is that he had a fall at his house earlier today and his kidneys were shutting down and he started to get dehydrated. Rhodes is generally considered the biggest star in the history of the Florida regional territory and booked Jim Crockett Promotions in the 80s and WCW in the 90s. He's been working in WWE developmental for years as promo coach. Rhodes was a college football and baseball player at West Texas State, a contemporary of Bruiser Brody and Terry Funk. He got into pro wrestling after playing semi-pro football. He made his first name in wrestling as a heel, teaming with **** Murdoch, as the Texas Outlaws. The team held numerous championships, and had strong runs in a number of territories. Eventually they went their separate ways. Rhodes had become the top singles heel in the Florida territory when Eddie Graham sensed the crowd was starting to get with him because of his colorful interviews and mannerisms. Before the turn, Graham tested his theory in a world title match where Rhodes faced Jack Brisco, the champion, who had been Florida's most popular wrestler for years. He put a spot in where Rhodes delivered his elbow drop and Brisco, instead of kicking out, put his foot over the ropes. That one move caused the crowd to get behind Rhodes, proving Graham's theory. He then booked an angle where Gary Hart and Pak Song turned on Rhodes in a tag team match. Rhodes became the biggest draw and most popular wrestler in the state, with his first run setting box office records in most cities. He became a touring star, and would be brought into all the big money territories, whether it was the WWWF, AWA, Carolinas, Georgia or wherever as a main event attraction while mostly based in Florida. When Georgia Championship Wrestling starting getting a national foothold, Rhodes was its top babyface, with a feud with Ole Anderson & Ivan Koloff. In 1984, Rhodes moved to the Carolinas to become the booker for Jim Crockett Promotions. This led to a huge increase in business in 1985 and 1986, but things started faltering in 1987 and for a variety of reasons, between going with a pat hand and repetitive main event finishes, attendance fell while spending increased. Crockett sold the promotion to Turner Broadcasting in 1988 after significant money losses. Rhodes had a falling out quickly with Jim Herd, who was put in charge of WCW. This led to his run as the "Common Man" in polka dots with WWF. Some of this was retribution since Rhodes as booker was considered Vince McMahon's biggest adversary just a few years earlier in quest for national domination of the business. After being fired by McMahon after a few years as a headline wrestler, Rhodes active career was over and he went back to WCW, where he performed a number of roles including booking and television announcing. As far as an ability to work and control a crowd as a babyface, Rhodes would rank right with anyone at any point in pro wrestling history and was an unquestioned all-time great. No one can predict the future but the legal issue is related to the contract between the owners and the city of Glendale. If the team moves to Las Vegas it would have no obligations to Glendale and thus, likely no legal issues. I'd suspect also that a move to Vegas would involve additional ownership (the current Coyotes owners are made up of a very rich guy who is mostly a figurehead and the guys who operate the team who have no money)
