Big shock Bogo hurt for the Sabres ...

That's a unique way of looking at it but only a fool would see it that way. I dont care about senseless rumours but I do care that people are making unsubstantiated negative claims about people. Sign your full legal name to go with the rumor/ Coming from a guy known as the "Unknown Poster" ..... I don't post the **** you do. Even when defending your position to slander guys. What a disgrace. Comparing yourself to lawless? Lol get a grip. I like this forum for how much freedom they give posters but I admit to being surprised you're still here. -

I think they are in tough to make the playoffs but I can't argue with their desire and fight. -

What a game. Has this team ever been mlre tight knit? You see such enthusiasm and fight. Tremendous effort. Agree about Stafford. He's the top six guy we've been missing. Pavs phenomenal tonight. How close are little buff and Perrault? Because getting them all back is almost scary. Still too close to call but they are playing great right now. Keep it up because in in the corporate box on Saturday! -
Jets Sign Kostalek
The Unknown Poster replied to The Unknown Poster's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
History 2010-11: Jan Kostalek appeared in one game for the Sparta Prague U20 team – playing most of the season with the Czech club’s U18 team – and also played in 19 international games for the Czech U16 team. He had no points nor penalties in his only U20 game. Kostalek scored 2 goals with 9 assists in 39 games with the Sparta Prague U18 team and was plus-four with 34 penalty minutes. Sparta U18 finished first in the regular season but lost in the playoff quarterfinals. Kostalek was plus-one with no points and 8 penalty minutes in five playoff games. In six games for Sparta U16 he scored 1 goal with 3 assists and was plus-five. He scored 3 goals with 6 assists and had 34 penalty minutes playing for the Czech Republic U16 team. 2011-12: Kostalek made his Czech Extraliga debut – playing in 10 games for Sparta Prague – while competing for the club’s U20 team and representing the Czech Republic in three international championship tournaments. He had no points and was minus-three with 4 penalty minutes in his pro hockey stint. In 32 games for Sparta Prague U20 he scored 3 goals with 4 assists and was plus-seven with 30 penalty minutes. In the club’s four playoff games he was plus-four with no points and 2 penalty minutes. In 10 games for Sparta’s U18 team (including three playoff games) he scored 1 goal with 16 assists and was plus-11. He played in the 2011 U19 World Junior A Challenge, 2012 U17 World Hockey Challenge, and 2012 U18 World Junior Championship. Representing the Czech Republic in 15 international matches between the three teams he had 3 assists and 16 penalty minutes. Kostalek was selected by Rimouski in the first round (10th overall) of the 2012 CHL Import Draft. 2012-13: Kostalek impressed as both a physical defenseman and puck mover skating for Rimouski in his first season in North America. Slowed by an injury early in the year, he skated in 48 QMJHL games, finishing with 5 goals and 13 assists, and was plus-17 with 53 penalty minutes. The Oceanic finished second in the East Division. Kostalek had 1 assist and was minus-five with 2 penalty minutes in the six-game playoff series with Gatineau. He finished the year representing the Czech Republic at the 2013 U18 World Junior Championship; playing five games and finishing plus-one with 2 assists. Kostalek played for Team Orr in the CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game and was ranked 43rd amongst North American skaters in the Central Scouting final rankings and was selected by Winnipeg in the fourth round (114th overall) in the 2013 NHL Draft. 2013-14: Kostalek attended training camp with the Jets before returning to Rimouski for his second season in the QMJHL. He skated for the Czech Republic U20 team at the 2014 World Juniors. He scored 5 goals with 22 assists and was plus-10 with 40 penalty minutes in 55 regular season games — missing time at the end of the year and the first round in the playoffs due to a nagging injury. The Oceanic finished second to Baie-Comeau in the East Division and reached the second round in the playoffs. Kostalek had 3 assists and was minus-2 with 4 penalty minutes in six playoff game. He had 1 assist and was an even plus/minus with 2 penalty minutes in five games for the Czech Republic at the WJC. Talent Analysis Kostalek is a polished two-way defenseman. He plays a mature game and adapted well to being counted on to play plenty of minutes in all situations. Perhaps his best skill is his intelligence and hockey sense on the ice. He rarely makes a mistake. Only average sized, he skates well and plays with a bit of an edge. Offensively, there is still room to grow, but he makes smart decisions and moves the puck well. Like many young players he will need to add strength and bulk to compete at the pro level on a nightly basis, and consistency is a concern, but his development to this point has been encouraging. Future Kostalek skated in his second camp with the Jets before returning to Rimouski for his third season in the QMJHL in 2014-15. He is likely to represent the Czech Republic for the second time in the 2015 World Juniors. Playing on one of the top teams in Quebec, he has played well on both ends of the ice. One of two picks from the 2013 NHL Draft yet to be signed by the Jets, he must receive a contract by June 2015 or would re-enter the 2015 NHL Draft. His skating ability and instincts suggest he can be an outstanding two-way defenseman at the NHL level. -
@WiebeSunSports: #NHLJets announce they have agreed to terms with D Jan Kostalek, a 4th round pick in 2013 NHL Draft. 3-year, entry-level deal w/AAV of 850k

Do you really not know the difference or are you being deliberately obtuse?

Game 71: Blues @ Jets

I haven't read every post on every blog site, but I didn't read anyone saying the Jets should buy out Pavs. I did see, myself included, that certain posters thought it could be an option in the off season, not now as we push for a playoff spot. I believe it was yourself who responded it isn't an option due to cap issues. I wouldnt have even considered it. People forget that we didnt know what Hutch was in the off-season. And clearly, having two goalie options is needed right now. I think he's a potential trade option after next season but since Hutch is still in his entry deal, they might as well keep both. The caveat being, if Hutch becomes the bonafide number one guy next season, Pavs might not be too happy. -

He also made a comment, I think referring to the first goal of his first start back (cant remember the game off hand but I think it was somewhat of a softie) he later said after that goal if he hadnt stopped the rest he didnt think he'd ever play again. Im happy for Pavs. When Hutch was playing well you had the goofballs online saying gee should have bought out Pavs. Not a chance. Although I have enjoyed watching Darren Ford claim to be the only man alive who stood up for Pavs and no one will give him credit it for...much like no one gives him credit for single handedly bringing back the Jets, bringing back the Moose, building the Iceplex with his bare hands, curing polio etc. :-) -

Who really cares? A bunch of people, wanna know how i know? because this topic started as IC saying bogo was hurt again, all i said was wish i could tell a story about bogo that i was told and then it turned into drug problems this, drug issues that. Who really cares? You do, otherwise you wouldn't respond back. That's a unique way of looking at it but only a fool would see it that way. Wow. Too much stupid in this post. Can't compute. lol Just kidding. Firstly, Pavs DUI was in Russia. Im not sure Lawless has connections in Czech police. But it was the MEDIA in the Czech Republic that broke the DUI story not some fans on a message board. The police often release arrest reports, actually. I would strongly suspect that should a high profile person be arrested for drugs or something similar it would be immediate news here. Nic Khabibulin (I think it was him) got busted for an excessive speeding and DUI ticket and it was news. So certainly you can troll The Dirty and PM each other all your "dirt" but yeah, Ill take my news from the local media. If any of the Jets do blow in their downtown, I dont really care. Its none of my business. I respect and appreciate their talent and have no desire as some seem to, to tear them down just for fun. But I agree with what others have said, if you want to post your rumors, go ahead, but sign your full legal name so if people want they can post their rumours about you too. -

Except that there is no evidence to support that our "heroes" arent "perfect angels" other then reasonable common sense that would presume no one is a "perfect angel". You're making an assumption that a Jets player can only be one of two types of people: a perfect angel or a drug addict. Nothing inbetween? You simply cannot make up rumours about people or perpetuate a rumour without anything more substantial then "well my buddy was there". Could it be true? Sure. I might have rode into work today on the back of a pink unicorn too, who's to say. -
While I generally dislike the CRTC, Im not sure how much of a problem this really is that requires a fix. I'd have to look it up but what is the cost of basic cable now? I can appreciate Harper's desire for a pick & pay option but I also understand the fear that a pick & pay system could actually be more expensive for some customers.

Vic played Kirk right? But I think he recast the part. EDIT: Nope, Im thinking of a different fan series where the creator played Kirk and I really didnt like him and then he recast the part but I cant remember which series that is. Vic is good.
-
I generally regard fan films poorly and question why Pramount allows them. But there have been some recent efforts that are damn good. There were some that featured legit trek actors that I hated. Continues is very good though. I was amused at "Kirk" at first but he actor really brings the TOS Kirk to life.
-
Doohan would have been considered the star outside of the big three. But TOS was not an ensemble. Mr Shatner is the last of the stars. If the new writers have half a clue they will get him in Trek 3 while they still have the opportunity to do so.

Satisfying my boredom today, here is a mystery I always found interesting: Antikythera Mechanism Does not compute. The oldest computer known to man was built thousands of years ago. Source: AP The Antikythera mechanism is an incredibly intricate analogue computer found in a shipwreck near Greece in the year 1900. The device was used to determine the positions of celestial bodies using a mind-bogglingly complex series of bronze gears. The device in and of itself would already be impressive, but the unbelievable part of the mechanism? It was created 100 years before the birth of Christ, and more than 1,000 years before anything even approaching its level of technological complexity and workmanship would be discovered again. The device also came long before our modern understanding of astronomy and physics. The Antikythera mechanism was built over 1,600 years before Galileo was born, and over 1,700 years before Isaac Newton was born. Now, the rational explanation is that the device used working theories on the movements of celestial bodies established at the time, and some remarkably brilliant craftsmen. But if you were looking for a jumping-off point for your new time-travel novel or alien sci-fi epic, this one should hit you like a 10-tonne brick. Because for all the explanations we can offer, the Antikythera mechanism raises even more questions.

Maybe I just dont get it because I never read the books. But I was bored all throughout the original Lord of the Rings trilogy. I actually dozed off in every single one of them, especially the middle one where I was bored to tears to watch trees lumber along for like two hours. I've had people tell me I'd like it if I read the book. Well the point of a film is not to be a companion piece to a book. And then The Hobbit was pretty boring too. Visually gorgeous though. And I find those films silly. You really get the sense that Tolkien was just making up nonsense as he went along to entertain his kids. On the flip side, Game of Thrones has a consistent narrative and the world seems far more fleshed out. There are times they spend time on a plot point that just when I am about to be bored, they make me really really interested. There is a lot of world building in GoT and patience in unfolding the stories. I do have trouble keeping everyone straight with the "middle earth" type names but its not difficult to fall right back into the show every season. GoT entertains me and makes me care about the characters and world in a way Lord of the Rings doesnt. And yes, a lot of that is due to the masterful performance of Peter Dinklage who is the heart and soul of the series.
-
I hate fantasy (Lord of the Rings is so boring and silly) but I very much like GoT.

Is that a tan? In thought he was black. If thats a tan can I suggest his nickname right now be Jeffrey Orange.

There are many things I want to say to you.But I don't want to get banned. so I'll simply say.....you're ignorant. No kidding.

Im pretty bored today. might have to do some actual work. Anyway, finished House of Cards season 3 last night. It was really good, very different from the first two seasons. But I have a strong feeling I see where this is going and how the series ultimately ends...

A buddy was thinking of selling his house (high mortgage payments) and downsizing. I went with him to look at many homes last summer/fall and it was very tough out there. Saw a few pretty nice homes for under $200,000 but they were very small or in less than desirable areas. If you luck out and find a reasonably priced home in a good area with good size, it's in need of a complete renovation/remodel. Bought out house in St Norbert in 2008 for $169,000. City assessment just came out at $246,000. We had a market valuation done a couple years ago at about $230,000. If I could give my 20 year old self some advice, it would be to buy all the property you can when it was so damned cheap. What do young people today do when they need to buy their first home? Are they renting until their well into their careers and marriage and can finally afford it? Are they borrowing down payments from parents?

So it is confirmed that the WWE advertises that Canadian subscribers to the Network channel can get online access to the Over The Top service but what they do not specify is it's only for Rogers and Eastlink customers, not SHAW. I will be cancelling after WrestleMania. -
Generally if a chief does want to change things he doesnt get very far. The reason I say the reserve system has to go is because there is no political will for Aborigional leaders to want to change a system they profit from. We fund a dictatorship. It's ridiculous. When there are issues pertaining to funding or lack of resources on a reserve somehow that is always the government's fault but this is the system that is in place. Cut out the middle man. And yes, residential schools really, really decimated the aboriginal people. But theres a better way. No one owns anything on a reserve. There is no pride in ownership. Ever been on a reserve and see the conditions of the homes and vehicles? Ever see brand new snow machines left out on the ice in spring to fall through so they can bill the government for new ones next fall? Why is there a vast amount of homeless or poor aboriginal people in Winnipeg, coming here from the reserve with nowhere to go, no chance of improving themselves but it's better then the reserve. I had a friend when I was in my early 20's. We worked together. Her parents lived on the reserve and her dad actually ran a business so he was quite successful. She told me when she had been engaged that her and her fiance were given a home on the reserve and she worked for her father. But none of it was hers...but it was *easy*. She left, lived in a cheap apartment, worked a fairly go-nowhere job for the time being because she didnt want that life. Its a very difficult issue. Will take immense political will and courage to change it.
