I kind of got used to it over the coarse of time where I didn't need a shot of JD before going on lol But there were other factors as well. I started working a job as a social outreach worker and it made it more difficult to line up times. When CBC would call me it would usually be at 7am to have me on that afternoon at a specific time. And I really couldn't predict where I would be and who i would be with at the time which just made something which was already stressfull for me even more stressfull. I hear ya man. They usually make requests spur of the moment and less than ideal times. I used to give comments to media quite often about issues related to bars (liquor laws, gangs, violence etc) and they'd call me and ask if I could come down to the studio "right now" or "where are you right now, our reporter can meet you", thing like that. You always want to do them but it makes it hard. Also depends who is asking. I did a telephone interview with a print journalist which I called in a favour to get as it was coverage of a friends' new hotel opening and at the end he said interview is over and asked how I was looking forward to having the bar close. I said "well just between you and me it will be nice not to deal with dunk losers all the time". Guess what quote made print? Live and learn.

I had started to record it and never got around to actually watching it. It looks well produced. Im not sure it would keep my interest but I base that on nothing. Im through all six seasons of SOA and am awaiting the release of season 7 next week and then am looking for a new series. I considered Breaking Bad but I dont know...just doesnt seem all that great. Good thing House of Cards debuts shortly. Maybe Ill give Vikings a try.

Thats a good point about the slurs. But as you said, it was a reflection of the time, unfortunately. The Janet Jackson nipple-gate was idiotic and ludicrous. Dont let the kids see a nipple! The good news is the Jets have more points than the pacific division teams fighting for a playoff spot so those teams moving up are switching positions with each other. Minnesota is the Jets' gravest threat.

For us old guys (30's) think back to when you were a young kid and what simply wasnt allowed on TV. I remember being...maybe 12/13 and we had "Superchannel" and it was mind blowing...lol I dunno, I think there was more stuff allowed on TV when I was a kid than there is now. Sure maybe the language has pushed the boundaries a little but everything else seems like TV has gotten more tame than it used to be with the exception of places like HBO who just keep on keeping on. Way more sex and violence and language on regular TV now. Sure, cable is one thing, like AMC and FX but even network television. What was that cop show where they kept showing the cast members' bare asses? Remember all the controversy? Now you could get away with that. Plus, A$$hole is allowed now...there's another word I kept hearing on Y&R a couple years ago that I was surprised was now allowed but I cant remember what it was...**** maybe? **** is allowed now too. Although people our age will remember Degrassi always pushing the envelope with a naked Joey and then the movie where they dropped the F bomb twice in prime time.

if the Jets werent a Playoff team, I would agree and stand pat. But it is so important for the team to make the playoffs. There are reasons like playoff experience and making the community feel good and the indirect financial spinoff from playoff games. But its also important from a revenue perspective as that playoff money of almost all profit to the team owner. And it surely couldnt hurt in recruiting.

She's beautiful. I wont knock a girl for being thin. She looks healthy. There hasnt been any speculation about her being "unhealthy" thin. She looks good.

I was hoping they'd go back to Hutch. He might have let in four goals against Edmonton but I thought he played okay and was incredible in the shoot out. It was a tough game for a goalie with very little action for long stretches and then when there was action, the Oilers have some mighty fine players. I hope Klingberg gets a chance for whatever it will be on the 4th line. I had always hoped he'd be more than he's been.

I liked Mean. It was "poppy" but with some country elements. Her live performance of it at whatever awards show was tremendous. It was her first major performance after the Kanye fiasco and she got a huge standing ovation. I really like her.

I've done a lot of radio and a few TV interviews as well as newspaper articles several times. It can definitely be awkward if you're not used to it. When I was doing commentary for DVDs and hosting events it was easier to do interviews because I was "on" more often. I was a huge introvert when I was younger. In my mind I have to be "performing" to appear in front of a live audience or do interviews. And that makes it fun. But I certainly understand the awkwardness for sure.

Well I guess it depends on definition of county. She's "new" country, the crossover pop hybrid. And she is tremendous. Very deserving of all her accolades.
