  1. Meh. Flat for a lot of the game. Not a "great" victory. Points are better than not though.
  2. No you're right. He's been stellar otherwise.
  3. Three shoot out starters and only one has a single shoot out goal.
  4. The fourth goal was all on Hutch
  5. We went from having two starting goalies to two back up goalies.
  6. Sometimes he does in fact make outstanding saves but one could argue these amazing saves are sometimes a result of him being out of position in the first place . . . That is very true. Hutch is more positionally sound and square. Pavs has worked on that this year. His saves in this game were pretty great though.
  7. I didn't think the goals were weak and he made several outstanding saves. What I meant by using save % is it gives a snapshot over time. It's possible for a goalie to have poor stats in one game but play well which is the case last night.
  8. I absolutely agree with two things: 1 Pavs played well last night 2 Pavs is consistently under-performing on the season. The good thing about stats is they show you the bigger picture. And Pavs' Save Percentage simply isnt good enough.
  9. If the choice is between retaining Enstrom OR Bogo, I'd prefer to retain Enstrom.
  10. Im embarrassed to say I dont recall much about him. Details?
  11. I certainly hope not. I'd have no interest in either one of those guys. Lupul would be a good grab but not for a player with youth and skill of Bogo straight up. Though I noticed JP is a right shooting LW. If he can play RW, he's even better. Keep Buff on D, and it improves out top six/nine considerably. While its unlikely the Jets make many moves if any at all, if Frolik is without a contract at the trade deadline, Chevy will have a big decision to make.
  12. That would be bizarre. Even if some players don't like him, you'd think they could find other reasons to play, maybe like a playoff position. I agree. Even if the team plays better for Hutch I cant believe its conscious. I know Darren Ford was pushing that idea on twitter and seemed very angry last night. If Im PoMo im not sure who I start next game. On one hand, if the team plays better with Hutch, for whatever reason, you want the best play happening so go with Hutch. On the other hand, Pavs was good last night and his team hung him out to dry so he deserves another start. I think i'd go Pavs in LA and Hutch in Anaheim if only because Hutch seems to rise to the occasion of emotional games.
  13. ***For Entertainment/Speculation purposes only*** :-) Our favourite rumour site has this one: * The Maple Leafs aren't done with changes. A source I trust tells me that the coaching change was more of "Phase 1" than the whole deal. The Leafs have been talking to the Jets about Zach Bogosian, but obviously want to see if he is indeed healthy. He is playing tonight and many teams will be watching. The word is Joffrey Lupul/Jake Gardiner would be in such a deal. *** Hadnt considered that before...Bogo for Lupol. Thoughts?
  14. Twitter chatter about the team not playing for pavs. Interesting.
  15. Jets choking under the pressure of the playoff fight.
  16. Lawless speculates that something hAppened that makes Benevides a possibility. My favourite Gary line today was, when asked who the Bombers were leaning towards he said "they haven't told me...in fact they won't even talk to me about this". Lol
  17. Pavs starts. Bogo returns. Lay the smack down on Jets 1.0 please.
  18. Is there a consensus pick among the smart guys here of who would be the better DC?
  19. Well that makes the D situation shake loose a bit easier with him on lR. Too bad for him. Glad he got the big contract though, if his career is over.
  20. I agree to a degree. But governments cant keep going with taxes as the catchall to save the day. Fiscal responsibility and spending cuts matter. Im a huge Harper fan but I'm "meh" at best on the GST reduction because I think it hurts more then it helps but it sounds great to most taxpayers. I'd rather have an income tax cut that makes a significant difference and keep sales taxes up.
  21. Im curious about reports of egress issues. Anytime I've been to the Stadium, I saw no issue with entering or exiting. As it relates to temporary seating, you can bet the NHL and True North will be all over the Bombers to make sure that temporary seating is in place. Recall, when IGF opened and had traffic issues, The Bombers turned to True North for advice and things quickly improved. Implying the Government took out a loan for the Bombers is pretty weak. Ofcourse it's taxpayers money but the bottom line is, the facility was money well spent and years from now no one will care or they will look back and laugh at the chicken littles like Broadbeck making a big deal out of it. Id like to know what Broadbeck proposes as an alternative. Because if the team folded and CIS scuttled, all his articles would be about how the government dropped the ball and what a small drop in the bucket it would have been to invest in the team and community and what a fiscal waste to let the team and CIS fold.
  22. It was a dickish question... I can see why players hate the media & don't trust them. ****-ish but topical. That reporter will continue to needle Kessel now. If the player was smart, mature & professional he would have given an answer more like "you always feel responsible when a coach gets fired and its up to the players to perform on the ice." Would have shut down the questioning. I think most of the Jets players gave similar answers when Noel was fired.
  23. m not sure anyone is saying he WAS ruined playing with the Oilers. But there are examples of players who were rushed to the NHL to their detriment. On the other hand there are special players who are too good for junior but cant play for the AHL so they spend an extra year in Junior and it doesnt hurt them. To me the risk in playing an extra year of junior is far less than the risk of stunting a player's development by rushing them to the NHL. And from a business perspective, if a player isnt ready for the role the team needs of him, then why waste the time and money? But it's the Oilers so I dont really care. lol
  24. When you change GM and coach and keep same players, who's fault is it? Ultimately the leadership for not bringing in the right players. But in a micro sense the players did not play. Time For new players.
