Damn it Hutch!
-
It would have buried the wild actually. Not insurmountable but pretty bad.
-
Me too.
-
Magnus Paajarvi is currently on waivers so he's a possibility too. Left wing. 23 years old. Big kid. RFA after this season. $1.4 million.
-
You could be right. Roy could be the best bet right now. $1 million. UFA after this season. Shoots left. Go get him Chevy.
-
And he's only a million bucks. It will be interesting to see how chevy handles the Kane injury. If we stand pat and the jets slide it will be looked upon as a cheap team that squandered the playoffs because they were afraid to make a move. On the other hand, they played well without Kane previously. But man this is tough. It makes the jets needs a top six player, essentially a rental. Derek Roy cleared waivers so he's available.
-
Hutch statys his third consecutive game. Kane out with injury. This might sound crazy but should the jets consider Dany Heatly on waivers?

CM Punk Signs with UFC

Cole Miller doesn't just think CM Punk will be adequate as a UFC fighter, he thinks the former WWE star will be a winner. "This guy doesn't just have a chance," Miller told MMA Fighting. "He's gonna kick somebody's ass." Miller, a UFC veteran of seven years and 16 fights, has trained with CM Punk on multiple occasions and vouches for the divisive signee's skills on the ground. Miller is coming from a base of knowledge, too -- he's a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and one of the best grapplers in the lightweight division. "I think he'll do very well," Miller said. "I don't think he's trying to make a 10-year career out of this. But he's going to shake things up, whoop some ass and prove a lot of people wrong. I expect him to do very well against whoever they put up against him." Punk has said that he has not advanced past a white belt training with Rener Gracie. That is more out of desire than anything else -- CM Punk said he isn't interested in moving through the belt system because he's always learning. Miller estimates that Punk, whose real name is Phil Brooks, is far past a blue belt -- and a better grappler than many fighters in the UFC. "I think most MMA fighters don't have any kind of ground," Miller said. "Most of them aren't good at all. Even in the UFC. There are plenty of exceptions, but when I say most, I mean more than 50 percent are nothing more than OK blue belts on the ground. I would rate CM Punk definitely above that." The UFC's signing of Punk, the popular former WWE champion, has come under scorn from some. The biggest argument is that he is not deserving of competing in the UFC, MMA's biggest stage. CM Punk admitted himself on FOX Sports Live on Wednesday that the point is probably accurate. But, of course, from a marketing perspective, there's little doubt his fights won't bring a ton of attention. The other criticism has been that Punk is a privileged celebrity allowed to skip the line without paying his dues. Miller doesn't have any sympathy for those who make that claim. "So what?" Miller said. "Get over it. The UFC is a business and I guarantee it's definitely into protecting its brand and business. If you think they would sign somebody that's gonna go in there and suck and is not skilled, you're crazy. When did you see somebody in the UFC that completely sucked? Never." Miller also thinks some of the negativity has come from the stigma against scripted pro wrestling. Miller said Punk likely went through a tougher road to get to the top of WWE than most MMA fighters had to get to the UFC. CM Punk has been known as an overachiever and someone wrestling insiders never expected to become a bonafide WWE draw. "It's a hating society," Miller said. "People come out of their shell and s*** on whoever the first chance they get. People want to write that pro wrestling is fake. Pro wrestling is not fake. It's pre-determined. The guys at the highest level have to have an indomitable spirit. "This guy has the perseverance it takes. He's been through the fire. Most people are gonna break training for their first MMA fight and realize they don't have to. This guy has been through the gauntlet, so to speak." Another reason Miller thinks CM Punk will be successful is his pride and determination. He has chosen to leave pro wrestling, where he is a megastar, to wade into a new and dangerous sport, solely because it is his dream. "You think someone like him is going to just make a mockery of themselves in another area?" Miller said. "This guy was the best wrestler in the world. He's not gonna go into the UFC to lose, I promise you." -
If your oilers management would you actively do anything to improve your club right now? What's the best you can hope for now? 25th place? The season is over. Stay the course and go for McDavid.

Jets now sitting top ten in the league.

Hutch starts. Maurice contorted into impressive positions in an effort to explain why Hutch starts in the face of the rotation. Did his best to bury any sort of controversy. Good on him. But....this is officially your chance Hutch. Good luck!

Lots of love for Petan in the hockey world right now. Keep seeing people calling him a legit potential superstar. Very exciting. The next couple of years for the Jets are good to be extremely interesting. -
Read that some dude got booted off an American flight because he got extrnely upset when the flight personnel wished him a Merry Christmas. What a ****.

The Rogers Network preview ended up being better then advertised with mostly original programming like Legends House, Countdown, WrestleMania Rewind etc Still... I'm tempted to access the U.S. version since wwe doesn't try very hard to geo block. -
Burris restructures contract with REDBLACKS
The Unknown Poster replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
So he just took money he would get next season and got it this season instead? Not much of a restructuring. Hey can we pay you today why we owe you tomorrow? Uh sure. -
Well to be fair when Pavs wins or plays great it's been the exception to the rule. Hutch has been far more consistent. And the goalie issue is one of the hot issues of the team. I think it's perfectly fine to discuss.

Dos Caras is 63 years old! I meant the Jr... the one who was knocked out silly by Mirko Crocop http://www.sherdog.com/fighter/Alberto-Rodriguez-2269 Strangely enough, Bellator is in talks with Dos Caras Jr AKA Alberto Del Rio. Would be a strong get for Bellator. A legitimate Latino star who is good looking, charismatic, knows how to talk and sell a fight and has a legitimate background that would lend him an aura of credibility. -

It's a blunder for fans but apparently the deal with Rogers is astronomical. It's also worked as a template for discussions in other nations. For example the Network was supposed to launch in the UK months ago but has been delayed a couole of times, one reason being discussions with a terrestrial broadcastor. -
Hutch: Winning Percentage: .800 (2nd) Save Percentage: .944 (1st) GAA: 1.67 (1st) Now he's only played 13 games. But still....statistically speaking the Jets have the best goalie in the league right now. For comparison sake (Pavs): Games Played: 25 Winning Percentage: .556 (27th) Save percentage: .913 (24th) GAA: 2.34 (12th) Career-wise, Pavs is 2.91 GAA and .906 Save % so statistically he's having a good season. In fact, thus far it's his best season since 2010/2011, his last year in Atlanta. Interestingly, his first year in Winnipeg when he was named Jets MVP (I believe), his stats mirrored his career numbers. Pavs has two years left after this year at $3.9 million. However, Hutch only has one year left (at $575,000) but will be an RFA. So we will re-sign him but if his numbers hold up (big if), he will be looking for starter money and minutes. As an RFA he wont get elite starter money. Comparison-wise though, Pavs was an RFA and and got 5 years at $19.5 million. The Jets had little option behind him though so not much leverage. Another thing to consider, Pavs actual dollar value his final two years: 2015-2016: $4.25 million 2016/2017: $4.75 million In 2016/17, Paves will be making almost $5 million. Hutch will be in Year One of a new contract. And Connor Hellebuyck will be in the final year of his ELC. Going into that year, the following Jets will also need new contracts: Buff (UFA) Ladd (UFA) Scheif (RFA) Lowry (RFA) Trouba (RFA) Frolik is the only major piece in need of a contract before then which I suspect will get done shortly. So where this team is, what the budget is and what the vision for the future will dictate some decisions. It will be very interesting come summer 2016.

I agree with you both. He *has* to be the starter and work starter minutes to be in the conversation (and ofcourse, continue to post stellar numbers).

While the WWE Network wasn't free in Canada in November like it was in the rest of the world, Rogers Cable will put the live free stream of the WWE Network up on Sportsnet 360 on 12/25 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Eastern and again from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. In addition, they will put the WWE Network up free on 12/26 from 6 a.m. to Noon and on 1/1 from 6 p.m. to midnight. ***The WWE Network is an Over The Top streaming service is the U.S. and everywhere else in the world it's offered, including a "live" channel feed and tons of archival content. In Canada, the rights were licensed to Rogers. Rogers made it a regular channel which includes the "Live" stream (which includes the PPV events as they air) and a minimal amount of VOD archival content. Canada really gets screwed in this deal other then the guarantee of no bandwidth issues when viewing the live stream. Rogers is supposed to be making deals with other Canadian carriers but so far, none in Manitoba (and I believe only one non-Rogers carrier has it out East). So on Christmas, we in Manitoba can see the live stream for free on 360. Here is what looks to be the schedule that day: 10am Tribute to the Troops 12PM WWE 2K15 Roster Reveal hosted by Steve Austin (I believe this was the first appearance of Sting on WWE programming) 1PM Total Divas 2PM Total Divas 3PM Total Divas 4PM NXT (Not sure if this airs or if this is the cut off) Not a very impressive line up for a "free preview". Ugh. if Rogers was smart, they'd forgo the live stream and air last week's TLC PPV, the NXT Special, the Monday Night War show, a good documentary (Like Savage or Heyman) and maybe a classic PPV. Show case the Network. If I didnt know better and saw this on Christmas, I wouldnt order the channel. -
One other thing I forgot to mention until Gary Lawless reminded me with his tweet this morning, does Hutch factor into the Calder Trophy talk?
-
So here are some questions to Ponder What do we do when our four D are back When will Hutch either directly or indirectly be appointed starter? And by indirectly I mean just starting more than Pavs... Even if they love Pavs just from a development perspective don't you need to give hutch some consecutive starts to see why you've got? Great victory. Jets are for real.

Oh wow. Yeah having HTM on the show implies its a "big" show. No excuse. Mentallo appears on our shows too. He was actually with us when we debuted in 2002
