  1. Harrison might end up sticking here when we're healthy.
  2. Punk is unabashedly an *******. I go both ways on him because of it. There's being honest and standing up for Yourself and then there's being a **** for no reason. He sometimes straddles the line.
  3. Feels exciting. The trade was good. Will be fun to see the team rally together.
  4. And to help re-stock the cupboard in St Johns: @WiebeSunSports: #IceCaps added a D today, inking Ryan Parent to a pro tryout offer. Parent was a 1st round choice (18th overall) of #Preds in 2005 #NHLJets
  5. @garylawless: 6th rounder #nhljets send to Carolina forHarrison was Ottawa's acquired in a previous deal. Tough to get something for nothing but Chevy did
  6. Jay Harrison makes $1.5 million this year and next and is then a UFA. We're going to have a lot of bodies when everyone is healthy.

  8. ...and what do you got? A top 4 defenceman...NOT! Jets not called anyone up yet? Scary! If they intend to call someone up I would think it would have to be now. Makes me wonder if Chevy is still trying to work a trade or signing before midnight. Our 6 D today were: Dustin Byfuglien, Ben Chiarot, Grant Clitsome, Paul Postma, Adam Pardy, Julien Brouillette ...and what do you got? A top 4 defenceman...NOT! Jets not called anyone up yet? Scary! Should not be sent down ever again. He's earned his spot.
  9. Glad we own our own affiliate.

  11. Melichori (sp) is a left D. Kichton is a right. Buffalo Sabres blogger trying to push the idea that the Jets need to trade Kane for Tyler Myres. lol
  12. Lawless made a good point - there are some free agent Dmen available...
  13. I meant it more tongue in cheek but still....
  14. This is the season right here. The next 4 weeks. How the team weathers this adversity will be telling. They have no greater excuse to lose then they do now and no greater excuse to pull together as a team and fight through it.
  15. Its hilarious, I agree, as long as he is well liked in the locker room. There were rumblings that some players didnt like his money pics because they felt it was flaunting their wealth and it offended them. If he's well liked, then everyone laughs. If he isnt, then its another thing for players to point to as immaturity and attention-whoring. Ofcourse the other question is, how come the guy who's played the least needs a day off from practice?
  16. @PaulWiecek: @RickRalphTSN Actually, the latest now is Kane - not his teammates - removed the equipment himself as a joke. lol how many teammates got excited?
  17. @DarrinBauming: Mark Stuart is out until February with a lower-body injury suffered in the "altercation" late in Tuesday's game, says Paul Maurice. #NHLJets Top four D out. God forbid Buff goes down. When's the trade freeze? Gonna be hard to procure a 3-4 D man for a bottom six player now.
  18. @SportsCentre: Jets announce Mark Stuart out until February with lower body injury. Have to trade now.
  19. @PaulWiecek: They have removed Kane's name bar and equipment from his locker stall in the Jets dessing room. But word is that it's a gag by teammates.
  20. It will depend on Stuarts condition. If he's out for several games, we're in tough. Chevy generally tries not to hurt the Caps with call ups too. Thats why I could see them calling someone up and instead of trading for an NHL D man (and then having too many bodies in a month), trade for an AHL D man. I'd suspect they call up Melchiori if need be but it leaves St John's thin.
  21. Apparently its an injured hand from taking a shot (or at least thats their story). Not at practice today. If he's out for any length of time, I'd strongly suspect Chevy swings a trade by the freeze tomorrow. He had previously wanted a depth D in the 7-8 range but might need to look for a 5-6 D. On the other hand, you dont want to part with much for a short term replacement. When everyone is healthy we already have too many D. Perhaps he can swing a trade for an AHL Dman to re-stock the Caps and call someone else up (and keep Chairot)
  22. Kavis Reed?
  23. Outside of contractual obligations and whether you were a Noel fan or not, any concerns with his attitude, his approach that could disrupt the chemistry of this team? Or was it simply the case of being completely shafted by his former coach? I'd want enough information at my disposal to get some level of assurance he's willing and able to buy in to a team approach before bringing him in. Without knowing for sure, I would not be concerned. I think Noel's methods just didnt work for players like Burmi (And kane to an extent). He was trying to teach them like he would in the AHL but these were players that had been rushed to the NHL too soon and their habits were hardwired. Maurice seems to have Kane playing the way he wants, despite Kane's offensive output being down. Burmi might have issues but given the change in Winnipeg I think its worth trying him out if hes willing to come back. He would seem to fit in perfectly with Maurice's system of puck possession. He's a great puck possession guy in the vein of Perrault to a degree. He's a wing/centre and can play in any situation. Being that he's already Jets property, if we could sign him, it's gaining a 23 year old first round draft pick for nothing.
  24. While it is off-topic, there's plenty of ignorance that runs deep up in CA as well. I've talked to some folks from up there before who didn't even know where my state was, and others who were in total disbelief when they found out it almost never snows in my part of the country. True story. Just saying though, let's not pretend here that this stuff doesn't go both ways. Correct ofcourse. Theres also a general "I hate America" vibe from any Canadians that dont have a clue about the U.S.
  25. I like when I hear players be complimentary to Winnipeg by saying "I like the cold". Uh...spend July in Winnipeg and tell me its cold. Then go spend a winter in Buffalo.
