  1. Oddly enough, Pavs Save percentage is virtually the same as last season at this time. He seems to play "good" consistently but the handful of "bad" are bad enough to drag his stats down. Or Im crazy. At some point Hutch will have to get 3-5 games in a row and see how he responds.
  2. Not a chance. Maybe (big maybe) he'd do ROH for old time sake but I doubt it. He's very goal oriented. Wrestle mania or bust. If anyone had a shot at him it might be New Japan but I still don't see it. Punk is right that WWE booking sucks but his alternate ideas were no better (three way with Cena and Rock) and self serving. He's just an angry sh!t-disturber albeit a very talented one. Dos Caras Jr., Alberto El Patron is out of his weight class. If they wanted to stunt cast id ask Kurt Angle if he could cut to 180.
  3. Venom. Carnage. Sinister Six. The best place for Spiderman is back with Marvel. As for Cinematic Universes, Star Trek is ready-made but Paramound/CBC (ie. Redstone) have ****** that one up royally.
  4. Cathal Pendred claims he's getting the fight. He's a Welterweight with an MMA record of 15-2-1 (2-0in UFC)
  5. I saw the retort, ten reasons to visit Dallas and wondered what it was all about. All in good fun. How did they miss the CMHR? lol
  6. because the rights were only held as long as the companies making the movies used them. In the case of Daredevil it simply expired and ghost rider I am not sure it expired so much as there was no plans to actually try and keep them. All the deals Marvel made were use it or lose it deals, that's why we get a new X-Men or Spiderman movie every few years At least FOX tries with X-men. Sony seems clueless about Spider Man.
  7. Yeah i thought that as I was typing it. But if Marvel did it as a one and done, I'd not mind seeing an older Spiderman and use his 20 years as a crime fighter as motivation for being willing to unmask, I didnt mind Garfield, just preferred Toby who is a much better actor.
  8. Well i dont know the details but Marvel got back the rights to Daredevil and Ghost Rider. Sony had a plan to copy Marvel and create their own cinematic universe based on Spiderman but ASM2 really sucked (thanks Bob Orci, who incidentally was just dropped as Director of Star Trek 3 and possibly had his script punted too). It all comes down to money. If the deal is Spiderman in Captain America and its a one & done, it benefits Sony because they get a freshened up property. But I'd suspect some sort of deal that flips full creative control and rights back to Marvel where Sony gets distribution and profit participation would end up being the final result here. Sony screwed it up. Let Marvel do all the work and Sony can cash the cheques. I'd prefer if they dumped Andrew Garfield and brought Toby back in.
  9. The Interwebz is abuzz with confirmation via the Sony hack that Marvel and Sony discussed inserting Spiderman into Captain America: Civil War. It seems like Sony countered with a new trilogy produced by Marvel but marketed and distributed by Sony where they would also maintain creative control. I for one hope Marvel gets Spider Man back.
  10. That's not their only job segment. Median household income is $53,000. Could be better. But tickets aren't going to be Winnipeg levels.
  11. Yeah but Paul Levesque (Triple H) wouldn't. Hunter is definitely petty and arrogant in a way Vince isn't. I firmly believe it was Hunter's call to serve Punk his termination papers ln his wedding day since he texted him two days earlier and Punk said I'll get back to you after the wedding. Hunter has a lot working against him as far as taking over the company. Being perceived as petty doesn't help. Hopefully he will lighten up as he ages and gains more control.
  12. Wasn't the separatist whatshisname meeting with the NHL recently? I'm torn on this. I love Las Vegas and like the idea of hockey there. And not because I'd likely go see games because I prefer Vegas in the summer. But I think it adds a little edge to the NHL and I think hockey might work there for many reasons. People compare it to Arizona but there are differences. Vegas will have far greater corporate support. The government isn't involved financially. The arena is in the city. And their minor league team has plenty of support. I'd certainly predict they will be done finically. The issue is having locals and not just hotels and tourists supporting the team. I'm intrigued and supportive.
  13. I should make predictions more often!
  14. Im not sure its really an attention thing. I *do* think he's messing with people a little bit and thats a sign of immaturity. But I dont think its a sign of an underlying need for attention. I think its more he thinks "watch this, people are gonna go nuts" and he gets a kick out of it. I would hope one of the elders on the team would tell him it makes them look bad to flaunt their wealth.
  15. Meh. If Andrew Ladd did that as a joke, would anyone care? If Kane had 30 goals would anyone care? I sort of want to be outraged and then I just shrug. If he showed a pic of a new lexus he bought, we'd all say "cool car bro" but because its cash it comes across as flaunting his wealth. I get it. My understanding is it rubbed some players the wrong way because they are all rich but dont feel they should be flaunting it. I think its much ado about nothing. He plays his ass off every night.
  16. Dos Caras is 63 years old!
  17. Looking for the Jets to destroy the Stars tonight.
  18. And that's why they say never say never in wrestling right? Vince probably sees this as free advertising for the WWE and knows there's still money to be made with Punk. Vince is a dollar & cents guy (except for Randy Savage who he refused to do business with). But when Vince says "Punk will regret many of the things he said" you can be sure he wasnt very happy. But Vince also likes guys that stand up to him. Guys who left end up with better deals. Hunter on the other hand is petty and ego-driven and if Vince dies, Punk aint coming back. WWE will definitely make Punk an offer at some point that will likely include WrestleMania main event but Punk would have to swallow his own vow to come back and I think that will be difficult for him. But I also know he doesnt really care what people think so if he breaks his vow he wont care. He's actually sort of a **** to the fans in many ways. UFC might get a double dose of WWE as Brock's contract is up in early April and he's hinted at a return to UFC.
  19. He wants to do a practice cut but I'm not sure 170 will work. He said middleweight or welterweight for sure. He burned his bridges big time with wwe. But Vince being vince, he said he'd welcome him back.
  20. Wow. It's one thing to speculate but this ices it. They are going to Las Vegas.
  21. It's tough because these past two games he's been dynamite there. But I think you're right.
  22. I didn't think it was worth that much.
  23. Trouba has been unreal the last few games. He's making a case for consideration as our top D and he's what, 20? Unreal. Hope to see him in a Jets jersey for 20 years. Heard an interview with the Icecaps' PBP guy and he said he doesnt think Chairot will be sent back down, that he will continue to play too well. Great problem to have. I was lobbying for Postma as trade bait before the season began, then he played really well, then cooled off. Enstrom, Bogo, Buff*, Stuart, Trouba, Chairot, Postma, Clitty, Pardy. Nice problem to have. With that being said, you'd think they'd almost have to move Buff back up front and enjoy the wealth of D-men for awhile. Clitty might be hard to trade with his contract. Postma would get us something back. Maybe we could rob the Oilers of a forward.
  24. They should have gone the Kimbo route with Punk. Put him on TUF, let non-WWE UFC fans (there are a lot of them) get to know him. It gives him more time to get some high level training in & see where he's at skill wise compared to other entry level UFC guys. I'm guessing the money they are paying him puts him out of prelim territory. They need to get him exposure to make it worth their while so I got to think it's main card all the way for him. A win against a can also doesn't do much for him. For what it's worth, Chael believes he knows who the 1st opponent will be and thinks it will be a well known fighter and Punk will be the underdog (as he should be against basically any opponent). I thought this too but theres too much risk in Punk losing early I think. Even if he is destroyed in his first fight, they will have received one massive PPV buy rate for it. Punk would actually do really well on TUF. He'd be the star of the show, easily.
  25. Ralek Gracie might disagree. Since the signing became public, Ralek said this: "CM has a huge fan base but I'm not aware of any top level grappling creds that he has." Even Renner has said that Punk is still new to BJJ but he could be very good (could being the key word). They may have started training together a couple years ago but it would be 2 weeks straight, then nothing for 6 months so I don't know how solid that base would be given that kind of schedule. Exactly my original point and hence why I said "no athletic credentials outside of wrestling and casual training". Thank you for finding that quote. I have little doubt Punk would be good at it once fully dedicated but Im not sure there is anything in his past to indicate he'd have elite level skill.
