This is goofy. Walters is making signings. What do you want them to do? Wade should tweet every time he takes a dump? let them work. -

Did something happen that I missed? Why is it you need to know what is happening with the coaches TODAY? The team isn't really owned by the community. It's a business. They are running their business. Im pretty sure they will let you know when they deem it appropriate. -
I certainly hope she acts better than she does in Game of Thrones. Easily one of the worst actors on the show and I'm not sure if it's her fault or the writing and directing they give her. I think it's just direction. Either way she's ridiculously attractive.

I got chills when they showed the scenes we have previously on-screen. They did a good job with them. Emilia Clarke looks the part though she's not as buff as she should be for the role. I wonder if the T-1000 is supposed to be the same one from T2? He looks alike but looks asian unless it was just the lighting? As opposed to Robert Patrick. I was hoping they'd just get Robert Patrick's likeness and CGI the T-1000. Pretty much an ingenius way of explaining an aged Arnold too. I wonder if they will somehow connect the protector T-800 to the original protector in T2. Thats the only thing that annoyed me about the later movies was the emotional emptiness that comes with giving us the same character but really not.

Call me crazy but I am super pumped about seeing this and as far as teaser trailer goes, this is way better than Star Wars:

Im not against that D corp. Chiarot is good and this is his chance to prove he belongs. And Buff should be able to not miss a beat though he is good for one gaffe a game back there. Im a little nervous in that Buff seems to have lowered expectation saying the system is completly different as far as being able to slide back into D easily. We will see. This makes us basically a two line team. I acutally like Halischuk and I guess he's the best guy to fit in there but it wont be much for offense. They might have to put Scheif back on 2nd line to make sure there is offense there and the shifty Perrault down to give the 3rd any chance. Wouldnt surprise me it Thorburn ends up 2RW ugh

Think Lapo keeps KJ? I would think so. -
Holy F*&K. Wellll...I guess this is where our Magic Man Buff comes into play. But they better be replacing him with someone not names Thorburn. Call up a forward or make a trade (hard I know). Buff will be fine. Good thing Chariot (sp) looked good last night and Pardy has been playing very well. If anything I hope this really pulls the team together. Losing your top two D men for a month is extremely difficult to over-come. Trouba, time to step up.

Why do that if you can trade him for an asset, even if its a 3rd round pick? I'd be trying to bring him back to the fold, but if he wont play here, trade him. Dont lose him for nothing. To prove a point. Im pretty sure hes ours for the next 2-3 years if we keep offering him a contract. But eh im all for a trade if you can get something... I just dont think you can. I cant see why any team would want him.... hes a whiner that stomps his feet in a fit when he dont get what he wants when hes proven nothing. Hes talented. I think hes worth the risk if its a small price. I could see him being a throw in to sweeten a trade or a trade of someone else's "problem". I could see a team with some Russian players maybe being interested. I know there was some thought the Pens might be interested in Yakupov thinking Malkin could help him but I'd rather have a guy like Burmi who plays hard all the time. He's be a great winger for Malkin. Washington...maybe.

I'd really like to see what Burmi would do under Maurice. It is no secret him and Noel never got along. With Maurice's experience in the KHL, wonder if he could get through to Burmi. Me too. I actually think hed do really good under Maurice and his system. I know that was the thought process but I believe Burmi said this year that he wants to return to the NHL next season but not with the Jets.

Id be a very conservative GM actually. I like Chevy a lot and I like what he's done. I just get a lot of entertainment value out of fantasy trades and rumours and such. But the point being, last season, Chevy chose not to trade away assets at the deadline because the Jets had a shot at the playoffs. So if they look to be in the hunt for solidly, would he make a deal to improve the team? I think you have to ask yourself what your trying to do. And how making one trade is really going to improve your team over what you believe you have in your system. If we make the playoffs we arnt going to make it out of the first round ... well we might get to the second but beyond that i doubt we go far this year... So is making a trade for the sake of making a trade worth it? Id have to say no. I think a trade that brings in a quality mid six player that helps the Jets win a tough opening round series is exceptionally worth it, if that were to happen. There is no guarantee ofcourse. But if the difference between a first round exit and a second round exit is a mid six rental or two, Im all for it. The return on investment for TN would be massive also.

Hard question to answer. It would certainly mean that we wouldn't trade Buff until at least the off season Wouldn't give up a first because I don't think we yet have enough talent to really complete and go far in the playoffs. We seem to be very strong in goaltender depth prospect wise right now, but goalies can be so tough to judge, not sure how much a team would be willing to give up to get one of them. I look at our prospects and what I'd be willing to give up this year, and don't see a lot that would get us much in return. I would say Ehlers, Petan, and Morissey would be on the not trade list. That leaves guys like Chase De Leo, Jack Glover, Kitchton as players that other teams may have an interest in. http://www.hockeysfuture.com/teams/winnipeg-jets/ I'd have to look at other teams and their contracts. But certainly a Buff trade will wait til the off-season now. And I think the importance of that will come down to - does Buff want to be here (the whole forward vs defence question) and it might be related to Ladd's plans too. We know Wheeler, Little etc talked to each other about their deals and agreed to stay here together and build something. I'd assume Ladd and Buff were in on those discussions but we will see. At the deadline, the Jets would be looking to trade assets they dont value (lower level prospects, Burmi/Telegin) or possibly someone like Comrie to a team that is outside the playoffs and wants to part with a pending UFA or a player with 1+ years left in a salary dump. Im not sure the Jets would want a player with term unless it someone they see as a long term investment like Frolik. Jets would be looking for either a UFA rental in the middle six or a younf player thats still an RFA. There will be teams with players to dump at the deadline that the Jets could get without giving up much.

Perrault has really taken Scheif's spot and the kid is struggling. Not terribly - he is still making plays. But I think his bad luck from early in the season has hurt his confidence. He should probably have ten goals if not more right now. He's not going to get the offensive opportunities with Lowry and Frolik. No doubt he will end up playing higher up the line up at some point, but it would be difficult to take Perrault off that second line right now. Here's a question, if the Jets are hovering around this spot at the deadline, say competing for 3rd in the division/wildcard, do the Jets make a trade to improve the top 9? A scoring winger to play the third line, move Lowry down and solidify the 4th?

I think you might be misinterpreting their point. They were making that point to show how poorly Edmonton has drafted, and outside of their multiple top 3 picks in recent years, have almost nothing to show from the other 40 (?) draft picks they've made. Contrary to that, the Jets look to have picked up a lot of talent outside of the first round of the draft. From a managerial point of view, these are teams headed in totally opposite directions. I understand that. Their discussion wasnt about the Jets, I just thought it was interesting to take their point and apply it to the Jets who are certainly doing a far better job of drafting then the Oilers but still arent up to the cup contender average. The Oilers are a mess of epic proportions. How you can draft that high for so many years and be this bad is beyond me. If they end up with McDavid, it would be a damn travesty. But we arnt cup contenders yet.... or am i missing something? Right. My point simply being an interesting observation. I didnt know about a correlation between home grown draft picks and cup teams. I find that interesting. Its a point towards the jets' draft and develop mentality even when fans want a quicker turn around. Because of what we got from Atlanta, it might take for then five years before 11 draft picks are regulars on our team. Just another measure of our development. And then compared to the mess in Edmonton.... oh boy.

What is the deal with the Grey Cup ticket pricing

I hear what your saying and can agree to a point. But in a game like that how many teams are really going to roll 4 lines? Your down 2-1 to a team thats just lost 10 games. I think your rolling 3 and maybe 2 at that point. Yes but its not a small sample size anymore. Jets' 4th line barely plays. Thorburn got a contract he didnt really deserve for his on-ice play but either Chevy or Chipman or both rewarded his off-ice qualities with a career contract. If that is how they want to spend their money so be it. But if it prevents them from upgrading the 3rd or 4th line, its a problem.
-
For me, the question always comes back to that Thorburn contract. Why so high and so long. A 4th line of Thorburn, Peluso, and Slater is not going to cut it. As to the playoffs, if we were to make it this year, even if we had a better 4th line, I don't think we are making it out of the first round. Even if we are one and done in the playoffs, we just need to start getting that playoff experience to the top half of the lineup. We basically need better 3rd line players to push the current 3rd line down. And those aren't easy to just pickup. It would be nice next year if Ehlers were to make the team pushing someone like Lowry down to the 4th. A 4th line of Slater and Lowry and one of Peluso / Thorburn or maybe Klingburg if he is ready would be more palatable. You could be right on the draft picks, but that is still a left over problem from Atlanta. I think this is going to start changing drastically over the next year or two as the Jets draft picks begin to mature. I thought Chiarot looked good out there last night, especially it being his 2nd NHL game of his career. (He was at Atlanta draft pick). Will be nice when these guys can start pushing out the Clitsome's and Pardy's, who were basically waiver wire pickups to strengthen the depth until we can fill it with our own guys. On the other hand, look how far we've come since year 1 when GST was our third line! Absolutely agree. I think Lowry was always intended to be a top 4th line player and our 4th line was so bad, he ended up on the third line. The issue will likely be resolved, as you said, by making the third line better and a guy like Lowry shuffling down to be a 4th line star. And then he likely plays himself back up as he develops and more draft picks cycle into the line up. I hate to bring it back to Buff but the Jets' drafting and development is where a guy like him will end up the odd-man out. The important moment in Jets history will be next season with Ladd and Buff contracts expiring. Do they both sign? Is one or the other traded? etc.
