Braley turning into a slumlord for Argos
The Unknown Poster replied to Fatty Liver's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
If you like the CFL, you shouldn't be cheering for the Toronto franchise to fold. It'd be awful for the league. Can you explain why? Toronto is like the problem child for the CFL for many years now. And what the league should do if no one wants to buy the team from Braley? Are you kidding. The centre of Canada's media? Losing Toronto would be massive. They need a good owner and better facility Maybe Vince McMahon would be interested again -
If I'm the Bombers I have a contest to choose favourite jerseys. And then when the royal blues win they can claim the fans decided. Positive PR

Do you think Cheveldayoff is doing a good job?
The Unknown Poster replied to Atomic's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
Ehlers is very interesting. He has the talent to make the team this year but his size will be the issue. Would love to see him shock people and make the team and have a good season. Him with Perrault and buff or Frolik could be pretty damn good -
Jets Radio PBP switch-up on 1290

I wouldn't say unlistenable. I still listen. But if matt doesn't study tapes of himself he should. He cuts off others too much and tries to control the discussion. I also thought it was irresponsible how much he kept pushing the idea of a Crosby cover up while continually stating he went to journalism school. I like him but in small doses. -
Scouting, Tweaking or Changing
The Unknown Poster replied to BigBlue's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
As much as it chokes me to lose a game like that, it reiterates a few things. This team is vastly improved over last years team and is moving in the right direction. But the Bombers just arent good enough and dont have the talent it takes to be a top team yet. They are good enough to compete and potentially win against any team if the stars allign, but they are just good enough to lose those games too. We'll get there. -
After the play I KNEW one of two things was going to happen here. It would either be a great call or a terrible call depending on the outcome Funny how one call can be both.

Re: Gun Culture. I was involved a huge and contentious debate on another forum about that very subject. i've always been of the believe Americans dont really understand their "right to bear arms" ammendment and I know there has been argument about the true intent related to placement of comma's etc. I dont know why the US let it get so far. Being a collector, hunter or even having a weapon for protection is one thing. Owning an assault rifle because you can is completely different.

Ray Rice is suspended for the 1st 2 games of the season That tells you all you need to know about the nfl Two games for a vile beating of a woman. A year for pot.
-
Speaking of which, who was that player that beat up his girlfriend in an elevator and was caught on video dragging her out? How long was he suspended?
-
A year suspension for pot? Give me a break. (And I dont smoke, never have and I dont endorse people doing it either). Realistically, a CFL team should be able to sign anyone they want, regardless of suspection. In the case of having a contract, thats for the lawyers to work out. I would consider it on a case by case basis. A guy suspended for pot? Who cares. Its legal in some places so how can that even be a suspenstion? A guy beating up his wife/girlfriend? Dont want that kind of player anywhere near the CFL.

It would shock me. If only in the sense that the "rules" of a hijacked plane prior to 9/11 were that you complied and everything would be okay. Whereas post 9/11, the procedure is for passengers and crew to attack, resist, etc the hijackers making it a very risky proposition for would-be hijackers. I think the American people are also now more accepting of a military shoot-down of a hi-jacked plane. if terrorists are thinking of going that route, they are pretty stupid, in my opinion.

I'm not overly familiar with the ownership structure in Florida, but Atlanta was unique in that the owners controlled the arena and wanted nothing to do with hockey so there was nothing the NHL could do to enforce their rules about selling the team. If there is an option in Florida to bring in new owners, the NHL would look at that first. In Atlanta they had the real possibility of the team being folded. Bettman also had a very good relationship with True North who were not only willing to take the Coyotes on a moments (15 minutes) notice when they werent ready for an NHL team but were also content to play "bad cop" in presenting a soft landing spot for the Coyotes which allowed the NHL to play hard ball with City of Glendale. In a sense, Bettman owed Chipman one. The Thrashers' situation was the perfect storm. There is no other market or situation like that one currently.

I dont buy it. Firstly, that would be the worst thing ISIS could do though I assume they'd gladly do it if they could. But that would be the end of ISIS because the US would decimate them. But the evidence mostly points to mechanical failure. Are you of the opinion the pilot(s) were in on a hijacking?

Im not so sure Bettman will give up on Florida. Miami is a huge market. The NHL is so absurdly anti-relocation compared to other leagues. I guess thats good but if I was an owner Id want the money losing teams in better locations to up the revenue of the league and the value of the league (and my team). if Im the PA, same thing. higher revenue, higher cap. Im very intrigued by Vegas. I think it will be successful for many reasons not connected to a rabid fanbase.

To be perfectly honest, the story has gotten more press then it deserved. Cops shoot people every day (unfortunately). Most justified, some probably not. And they arent international headline news. This is, only because white cop/black "kid". And the "kids" family (via lawyers) is (to their credit I guess), controlling the message. Make no mistake, if the cop reacted wrongly either because he was racist (which I doubt at this point) or some other reason (cowboy mentality, stress, fear etc) then he absolutely should pay the price. But the message right now is so slanted it's almost laughable if it wasnt a tragedy And hey whatever happened to MH370?? hmmmm
