  1. @TrendsWinnipeg: 'goalie' is now trending in #Winnipeg http://t.co/9Q1MdhQKSf
  2. Vrbata as 2rw with Frolik with buff and Perrault would be good. Or vice Versa.
  3. You'd rather have tanner glass? Cup finalists paid him more than jets paid Thorburn.
  4. Some Stupid money and deals being thrown around. Mostly glad the jets stayed out of the stupid. But I would have taken jussi or Raymond at their deals.
  5. Great signing. Much younger and faster than jokinen. Same stats in less games. He's played second line at points with great Ducks team. Good FO guy. Will make third line a scoring line. Very small. But knows how to play. I wonder if buff and Thorburn ride shotgun with him on the 3rd line. I suspect we're looking for another winger. Jussi would have been great on his left side with buff on the right. Oh well.
  6. MP is a very good signing. He's small but has proven to be able to score. He played some 2nd line with a very good Ducks team. As our 3rd liner he brings speed and talent. Very good FO guy which we needed to improve. The unfortunate part of today is how much our division improved. Yikes. I would have loved jussi here for the same deal he signed in Florida. Maybe a bit much but I would have done it. Raymond would have been okay too Sad to lose Redmond. Is suspect the jets aren't comfortable that he can be a regular nhl'er and he wouldn't take a two way deal. He signed for the same deal we got Pardy so disappointed to lose him. We need to keep players we develop. Pressure on Morrissey to make the team. Day not over yet.
  7. Don't want vanek. Don't want spezza. Jets made a play for Stastny but were one of many teams he doesn't want to play for. We will be in on jussi. We might be in on Ollie. Maybe moulson. You want the jets to throw money at superstars? Why. To be a cap team that still isn't a contender. You don't buy a championship. You draft a championship. Be patient.
  8. Yeah goalie you are the definition of irrational. It's not the deal I would have signed. But Thorburn did have other offers. Who knows what they were. But I doubt thorburns agent said "we want $800,000" and Chevy replied "would you take $1.2 million instead?" He's versatile in that he can at up and down the line up in a pinch. He may not be successful at it. But when he played on the second line he was not a liability. He didn't do squat but wasn't a liability. There are fourth line guys that can't be anything but a fourth line guy. We all whine about depth. This is depth. This is a hard working guy who wants to be here. He's the type of guy that when the jets make the playoffs, he will be bleeding and stitched up every game. We can look at numbers and comps. But we're not on the team. Chevy and Maurice wanted Thorburn back bad enough to pay him.
  9. Floodway was utilized today according to twitter
  10. Lol deep breaths goalie. Deep breaths. I don't love every player. But depth is depth and down thing we need. We can't just take every caps player either. It's one guy who will slot in as the 12th or 13th forward. Wait to see the final line up. Patience.
  11. lol are you serious with the cheap rate? you could sign a guy for league minimum to do nothing also. This is an awful deal. 1.2 million for what? no need to watch the free agent frenzy tomorrow cuz we are DOING NOTHING AGAIN. Disagreeing is one thing. Irrational nonsense is quite another.
  12. Chris Thorburn resigns with Jets. 3 years. $1.2m per year I thought we might be able to upgrade there but I like the signing. Good 4th line guy. Filled in surprisingly well when we had injuries. Cheap rate for three years
  13. No one said otherwise. But so what. It's still worth talking about. The Stastny camp was very impressed with the jets presentation.
  14. About 5 years ago I kicked the tires on a gorgeous brand new Dodge Challenger. Purple. "Plum Crazy". So sweet. Still bought the mini-van instead. We were always out of the Stastny sweepstakes. Rolls eyes.
  15. That makes sense. Team: "Korey we believe you can't play anymore" Banks: "screw that! I'm walking away!" Team: "uh okay. Thanks".
  16. We did not get the same weather as Regina. We had it very very easy compared to those out west. 20,000 fans braving that weather is commendable. If we had the same weather for our game there would be less than 20,000 there I promise you that.
  17. Jets out of the Stastny sweepstakes. However they apparently made a very impressive presentation. I'm hoping we land jussi at least. @garylawless: qualifying offers go out to #nhljets RFAs John Albert, Ben Chiarot, Patrice Cormier, Michael Hutchinson, Carl Klingberg & Eric O'Dell. #bn Redmond is a UFA but I would hope we get him back. Surprised they didn't qualify Cody Sol.
  18. Jets trade of Eddie Pasquale to Washington likely sheds some light on their thoughts re: goaltending. I'd strongly suspect that clears the way for hutch to be the Ice Caps starting goalie this season. Rumours of Jets/Leafs in discussions at the draft regarding Reimer would add to that also. I know most of us are enamoured with Hutch but to elevate him too fast serves no purpose. They still have to get him under contract, which they will. Jets also announce they will not qualify Matt Halischuk. Im a bit surprised for a team lacking depth that they would not bring him back. He's interchangable, yes, but I thought he was a good fourth line winger that worked hard and could pop in the occasional goal. He could play up on the 3rd line when needed too. I think maybe the Jets hoped for more offense out of him. Again, this indicates the jets will have to be somewhat active in Free Agency as we still lack depth.
  19. I havent heard anything on this yet. I believe there are hoops to jump through in operating the floodway to control river levels outside of spring flooding. What year was it, 2006 or 2007 -ish that we had rain all summer and they operated the floodway?
  20. New info coming out now. The plane tried to contact a satellite due to a power failure, the likeliest cause of which was someone trying to turn off communications. This is also interesting: "Malaysian police have named pilot Zaharie Shah, 53, as the prime suspect behind the plane's disappearance after officers discovered files on his home flight simulator showing he practiced landing on small airfields, including several in the Indian Ocean." I still think it was mechanical because I don't see the motivation in the pilot going to all this trouble just to kill himself but interesting developments.
  21. Typical TSN. Couldn't they give their sideline guy an umbrella?? Mickey Mouse. They have such a good panel in the studio then cheapen the broadcast with guys like Rod Black doing pbp & expect their sideline reporter to perform like a professional in a monsoon. It just makes no sense. We could hear water hitting mics all game. If those were sideline mics why wouldn't they turn them down. Just weird production. They go to the sideline guy and his mic is dead. They didn't test it?
  22. Spoke to soon lol. Weird move by Tampa. Apparently they made the deal for Gagner before Arizona got into the mix. So if they wanted him why turn around and trade him for morning and retain salary. Weird. Good deal for coyotes. I'd gladly have given a sixth round pick for Gagner. For that matter of Purcell was available id have wanted him too.
  23. Like that trade for Tampa. Would have likes Gagner here.
