  1. 100%. But as you say - different sized horns. Collaros wasn't playing well in the big game, even prior to his injured hand. The cracks in his game started to show back in 2023. Fairly large horns there. MOS shouldn't have put his injured QB back in the game when he's been told the player can't grip the ball. More large horns. Brady the league's MOC and MOP not fed the ball. Horns for both MOS and for play-caller Buck on that one - and also (again) for Collaros who decided to throw on RPOs, despite knowing his hand was a liability. I would also place a little thorny crown on Kyle Walters for signing Collaros to a 3-year deal that hamstrung the club on the salary cap which has led to other consequences.
  2. 100%. Given Collaros's struggles in the 2023 season - even then many could see his deer in the headlights look even under slightest pressure, his lack of resolve to stay in the pocket for an extra beat, his off-target throws. This past season should've have been the time to get your back-up QB some meaningful live fire. Walters should be able to see how Streveler was not used optimally. Let's see if the OC and HC are held to account.
  3. USA player recruitment and Canuck drafting has been and continues to be the great strength of this organization, esp on the D side of the ball, but positive overall. HC & OC have become liabilities to the point where they cancel out the above.
  4. But he gave a straight answer. Said he didn't even think twice about it. Makes you wonder though. Player: "Coach, I broke my leg." MOS: "Do you think you can still play on the other one?" Player: "Maybe." MOS: "Great! In you go ..."
  5. I wasn't sure before but this clinches it. MOS does not understand the role of HC. He's happy, for the most part, to have the inmates run the asylum. But the coach needs to show leadership and make decisions. Even his QB reflected on the situation - would he help or hinder the team by returning to the game unable to throw? He asks the coach - almost hoping that he could be relieved of the responsiblity. Instead of stepping up and making the decision to sit the injured player - he kicks it back to Zach who reluctantly goes back in ... And then, not even reflecting on it .. wow.
  6. That is what MOS said at the 1 min 10 seconds mark https://www.bluebombers.com/2024/11/22/coach-oshea-november-22-2/
  7. MOS asked if, in hindsight, he would again keep Collaros in the GC game despite the fact he was told that his QB could not throw. Q: "Would you still send him out there?" A: "Yeah. Absolutely. When you asked me that, it's not even something I really thought about." Wow. Little self-reflective ability. Does MOS really understand his role as HC? This is the point where stupidity appears to have overtaken stubbornness. The man requires active supervision.
  8. Grant is the best kick returner in the CFL, bar none, and current Special Teams MOP. You have to remember how he injured his ankle in 2023. It was on a stupid play call by Buck Pierce where Grant was inserted into the offence to run a dive play up the gut into close-chaotic heavy traffic. You don't do that with your key return man. Chances of getting him nicked are high. Look at the way Grant was used by Dinwiddie in Argos offence - sparingly, but more often and creatively than Buck did - and certainly never on a play designed more for a Brady Oliveira body-type than Janarion.
  9. Is there any guaranteed money for Zach Collaros in the 3rd and final year (2025) of his contract? There was no reason for Kyle Walters to give him 3 years back in 2022. Yes, he led the team to 2 consecutive Grey Cups but he was just a hot/cold injury-prone CFL journeyman before landing in Peg. That fat contract ignored the totality of the player's history. Zach should have been offered 1+ deal in 2022 so the club had flexibility to keep players like Janarion Grant on our roster. You could easily argue that Kyle screwed the pooch. If Zach comes back it should be on a re-negotiated Bo Levi Mitchell style contract and no guarantees.
  10. For the 3rd uni, I'd like to see the 1961 helmet with just numbers and the "Lightning Bolt" https://www.helmethistory.com/winnipeg.html
  11. Not that it's worth anything at this stage but I noticed Lucky wore yellow-coloured gloves for the first half then changed them for blue gloves to start the second. First kick return he fields with the blue gloves, he fights the ball and fumbles. Later, for the rest of the game, goes back to the yellow gloves. I imagine next year it will just be gardening gloves.
  12. I am OK with the coaching, including Buck. I think today's game plan just showed lack of confidence the O-line could compete with Argos front four and backer box. So they decided to not give the ball to Brady thinking Argos would expect that. One coaching irritation is that MOS is stubborn to a fault - very loyal to his players leading to bonehead roster decisions. Now 10 years in, I would also question his in-game management. You'd think after so long at the helm he wouldn't make so many mistakes. As for keeping the has-been players - It is no coincidence that MOS himself chose to continue to play as an older veteran player and did not retire after he was spent - hung on til the bitter end when he had to be cut. As for Walters - don't forget it was Walters who signed ZC to a 3-year $550/per deal when he really didn't have to. Could have easily gone 1+. It was also Walters who let the leagues best kick returner - who returned 5 TDs this year alone - get away. To his credit, Walters did re-sign Brady and Dalton Schoen when no one thought he could. It just meant there was nothing left for Janarion Grant and it could have been predicted that that would not turn out well - just as even the fans could see that ZC was done a year or more ago. But Bombers had to keep him because of that contract.
  13. Agreed it has been an awsome 5 years to be a Bomber fan. But also somewhat heartbreaking because the team has actually been playing below its potential. I hope Strev is healthy and comes back next year and that ZC turns to coaching. Strev, Wilson and Dolegalla would be acceptable. Let a number of the previously mentioned has-been players retire - BA, Neuf, Fatboi, Bighill, etc. Please find a new punter and find an actual kick returner. We let Janarion get away and then went all season without an answer, which is really inexcusable. Hopefully O'Shea apologizes to all the great Bomber fans for his arrogance which led to 2-6 and a wonky edition of the club. Should be in full re-build mode now.
  14. Bombers have the best fans in the CFL and Bombers should apologize to them.
  15. 164 yards in I/C returns - a Grey Cup record.
  16. Many said that a year ago. Long before this embarrassing shitshow started.
  17. Ugly Ugly game. So many errors. They were never really in it. 11-7 recrord was deceptive. ZC had his worst year as a Bomber and capped it off with an amazingly **** game. Season started wonky with arrogant O'Shea not having his team ready.
  18. Nichols having a very bad game
  19. a mistake to let him go back in the game with an injured paw
  20. Gabe Wallace in beast mode on that TD push
  21. Here We Go Bombers Here We Go!
  22. When he played for Winnipeg O'Shea said that pound-for-pound Grant was the toughest player on the team. He does usually take it straight up but there is no doubt he sees the field extremely well. This one was classic Coach Phil has a theory too ...
  23. Argos special teams coach lays out what he thinks are keys to Janarion Grant’s kick return success …. https://www.cfl.ca/2024/11/15/landry-3-keys-to-janarion-grants-success/ But I have a different theory (Janarion & I have discussed this) … left-handedness! Janarion is a lefty and there is some evidence, although controversial, that lefties have superior spatial awareness. Has to do with dominance of the right hemisphere of the brain in spatial navigation.
  24. Adam Bighill wins the Tom Pate Award - well deserved! Says he still plans to play football after recovery from torn ACL and knee surgery. Hmmmm .... Eye test says Bighill's most effective football days are obviously behind him. Assuming both players return, can he re-claim the starting MLB job over Tony Jones next season? Jones seems to be settling in at MLB and also is a demon on special teams. Thoughts?
  25. It's the Grey Cup - either team can win. But it is called FOOTball. Will Sergio be the hero? He can kick massive distance but his overall FG percentage this season is under 80% compared with Haj for Argos who is above 90%. Also, field position. Punting distance + accuracy + hang time. Sheahan in 18 games has the worst punting average in the league. And he is punting to Janarion Grant. Sheesh. Love Janarion Grant. Just not this time. So ... kick cover. Anecdotally (who's got stats on this ... ) Bombers punt cover team has been underwhelming this year. I still like our chances - despite our special teams being sub-par this year.
