  1. Not Zach Collaros's best half as a Blue Bomber. Looks like he tweaked his back on that pick that was intended for Darvin. His throws have been wonky and off target since then.
  2. Maybe this has been discussed earlier in this very long thread, and if so I apologize for bringing it up, but what are CFL/NHL teams going to do with unvaxxed players once the federal requirement comes into effect that all air travel passengers show proof of vaccination? Will they leave the unvaxxed players at home for away games?
  3. I agree Lawler and Collaros weren't very good vs Argos in Toronto. Play-calling seemed very vanilla too. Bombers failed to adjust to what Toronto's defence was showing. For me, the jury is still out on Buck as OC. But the offence generally looked very slow and disjointed. I'd like to see Augustine in for Oliveira next game or even a 2-back set.
  4. Ottawa released Arbuckle and signed Nichols. I still don't get it.
  5. Ouch. Everything is exposed. Poor passing accuracy, too many dropped passes, no running game, questionable play-calling, no defence vs the run, too many missed tackles, poor field position, lousy place-kicking, poor punting and no return game. What have I missed? At least this loss was vs a team from the East. Full marks to Argos.

  8. Brady Oliveira had a really fantastic first game as starting RB! A testament to the hogs and Brady's hard work. Still would like to see Johnny Augustine in there. How about a 1-2 Canadian RB punch?
  9. When must Bombers disclose roster and injuries? What's Janarion Grant's status? And Josh Johnson? Will Kyrie Wilson be back this week? Darvin? Are the practices open to the public now that COVID restrictions have been relaxed? They should be open IMHO. If you can have 30,000 for a game, and the Bomber Store of course is open, then you should be able to accommodate a few prax watchers.
  10. Indeed this is true. And I loved the lights-out hits McGuire delivered in 2019 on more than one defender on FG kick protection. It'll be interesting to see how the QBs develop as a group under a new Co-ordinator and how buck's offence differs from Lapo. You have to think it will still feature Harris but who knows? Buck has had lots of time to think about it.
  11. Hoping McGuire can learn well under Collaros and succeed. Snagged one of McGuire's game-worn jerseys from the Grey Cup year just in case. (It was very clean, BTW)
  12. What about playing regular CFL games down south for the 2021 season and just televising them back home? XFL is out of the picture this season. But CFL needs gate revenue. How can that happen when COVID restrictions are so tight and patchwork across Canada? So Bombers and CFLs other teams play in XFL stadiums this season in front of US fans. That way they can earn some ticket money at the gate as it would be a novelty for American football fans who aren't so COVID shy/restricted. I'd be OK with that. Of course I'd prefer to be sitting at IGF but somehow I don't think it'll happen this year - and so CFL plays 2021 season - just not in the usual places.

Elk, Evergreens, Evergolds, Eclipse, Elkhounds, Eagles and Elements are listed as possibilities on an online survey released Monday. The CFL team dropped the name Eskimos last year.   16. We lost JFG to free agency when he signed with Ottawa in 2018. He didn't do much there and was released last August. I remember him making a few clutch grabs for the Bombers when he was here. I agree with you on Petermann - hope we use him more! And then we've got Woli who re-upped.
  17. I'd put Nichols on the same career trajectory as Travis Lulay: the injuries pile up and eventually you settle for backup status. If you compare Lulay's CFL stats to Nichols they're pretty similar. Both had multiple seasons where they missed a bunch of games due to injury. To me, Lulay was more mobile and effective with his feet and showed better escapability. Nichols TD to INT percentage looks to be slightly better, after all he is the Game Manager. But the comparison is pretty close.   18. Loved watching him play in Blue & Gold - such an exciting, dynamic player. Hope he gets a real chance to show his skills down south.

  22. What's the status of Nichols throwing shoulder, anyone? Is he throwing with velocity yet? To me, he's always had a bit of a noodle arm and now the shoulder is an unknown post-surgery QB shoulder. I thought I read somewhere he may not be ready for TC. Man, if we lose Strev to the NFL there are going to be lots of question marks around the QB prospects here in 2020. Might have to dust off Buck.

  25. So, Collaros to Winnipeg and Nichols to Ottawa then? I'd be OK with that as long as we can get Streveler signed long-term here too. I'd also be OK with MBT and Strev TBH.
