Will be interested to see if receiver T.J. Thorpe can put together a good camp. I noticed Ed Tait named him as one to watch. Also, anyone know if Gerrard Sheppard is eligible for the rookie camp? Is there a rookie camp roster out there somewhere?
-
You may be right but that TD pass to Matt Nichols from Rory Kohlert was a thing of beauty.
-
And you are right that Bombers are surely cognizant that although Harris has shown great durability, he is now on the fading side of 30.
-
Actually, the more I see of Christophe Normand the more I like him as RB. Kid is a thumper and no way does his insertion suggest a bias to pass.

Here you go ... this piece about Bladek passingly mentions Bombers. Bladek would be a smart pick at #1, he wouldn't last to #6 IMHO http://3downnation.com/2016/12/05/dariusz-bladek-becomes-canadian-and-top-ranked-cfl-prospect/

No idea about Bass, but regardless of what Winnipeg wants McDuffie might want to test FA - he's shown he is a legit bust-it return threat some team will sign for that skill alone. Would love to see him in Blue & Gold again. Because as much as Kevin Fogg was excellent as a rookie DB-return man, #14 was more dangerous on returns.

Nichols engineered a couple of stellar comeback wins vs Lions in October while the defence fell apart in the semi-final costing us the game. If there is any element of the team falling apart under pressure it was the Bombers defence. I remember a game where Calgary scored with 15 seconds left in the game to steal a win from us - how is that on Nichols? If anything it is the Bombers defence that consistently crumbled under pressure, not the QB. http://www.cbc.ca/sports/football/cfl/bombers-lions-cfl-1.3806415

Team is fired up! Looking for JFG and #14 to make a difference.

Bombers are the 2016 Team of Destiny! Grey Cup run starts in 30 mins. Go Blue!!!!!!

Ti-Cats made it interesting but I was hoping both teams would lose - lol. The fact Austin didn't go for FG in Q1 with wind at Cats back and instead turned it over on downs, as Trump would say .... Yuge.

Will MOS's stubborness cost us in the long run
Doublezero replied to Old Bomber Fan's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Where was the 'MOS is too loyal or stubborn and shoulda pulled the QB' thread when Drew Willy was QB? By this logic, I would set the number of games Willy should have been replaced at about 20 or 25 games. That is stubbornness or something beyond stubbornness for you. Nichols has one lousy game and he should be yanked. Get real. -
Willy reminds me of Kerwin Bell. He's failed to adjust to the 20 second clock in the CFL. Thinks he's still in college and has 40 seconds between plays. Everything flows from that lack of urgency - including the D having all day to line up and T-off on the O line. Willy had his best sequences as QB here in the tempo or hurry-up. Saying that, I doubt he'll be a starter in any pro league next year.

Yes. But the ruling on the field was: no fumble. So why was it reviewed at all? If the rule is that all turnovers are automatically reviewed, what would prompt a review of a non-turnover?
-
OK. But the on field crew did not call it a turnover. So CFL Central Command thought it might be a fumble and took it upon themselves to review it? Just curious.
-
I was at the game too and thought it was a fumble. But the game officials saw what they saw and they did not call it. If they saw a fumble, they surely would have called it. And CFL Central Command saw nothing in the tv replays to overturn the non-call on the field. I wonder why it was reviewed? What prompted that? Anyone know?
-
It was a different era. Not necessarily better or worse than now, just different. But it was more innocent somehow.
-
Wow! That is trivia erudition. I remember Bobby Kraemer with the Blue - Don Jonas was the regular QB I think. I was a kid playing football for Clifton Cougars back then. You could actually stand on the sidelines at Winnipeg Stadium during the CFL games, right on the sideline just down from the players bench around the 15-20 yard line or so and watch from there. If you behaved yourself no one would boot you out. Did that with a couple of buddies most games.

Congrats to Justin Medlock - glad he is a Blue Bomber. Even if he bounces the odd one off the upright, he has been integral to this team in 2016.
-
Milt and Matty often tip their hand showing pro-Bombers bias. They were just demonstrating a bit of even-handedness by calling a fumble a fumble.
-
Ya, bring back Drew Willy! lol Nichols has been key to Bombers success this season and had one of his best games vs Lions IMHO.
-
I had a good view of that play and Heath made no contact with him, not even incidental contact. Was MOS out of challenges? I think even Wally was expecting Bombers to challenge that call and get it reversed.

Hoping our D plays better than last couple of games vs Stamps & Esks or it'll be a long afternoon. If Harris is healthy, then the O should be capable enough to score enough to win. Hope we see Flanders in there too. Go Blue!
