  1. 100% There are multiple problems on this club that might have been avoided. But one thing many in the off season said was trade Zach & keep Brown. So obvious - since Brown is the best QB prospect to enter the league in years. Effing brain trust must've seen that too. Would be interesting to know if they considered such a move. Of course we don't know contract details and what might have prevented this - even if Walters considered it. Apart from that, bone-headedness, stubborness complacency and arrogance as evidenced in 2 GC losses appear to be continuing, hastening the downswing.
  2. Entire O-Line needs remedial pass pro classes. And even smash-mouth run blocking is a major challenge with this group. Look at the trouble Bombers had gaining inches on 3rd down. Zero push. They got molested vs Montreal too. Yes #FreeEli. Bring back Geoff Gray. How long is Dobson out? This must be why Buck called only 14 run plays that averaged 3 YPC for a funky 42 total yards in a RAIN GAME. Actually he might have just called 12 runs since a couple were hapless attempts by Collaros to run out of trouble. If I am Strev or Augustine - a pair of terrific runners - I am pissed at such squandered opportunity.
  3. That hasn't been the plan so far ...
  4. Who will be the hero? Strev? Demski? Schoen? Augustine? Wheatfall?
  5. Yes, but Demski saved a sure pick by climbing the ladder and one-handing it on an overthrow later.
  6. Concussions = slower processing = anxious self-preservation = happy feet = bad throws = liability. It was so obvious last season that Brown was the better QB, Quicker release. Velocity throws on target. Plus experience/understanding the system. Major fail by coaching/management letting Brown get away.
  7. The injuries are a factor. But MOS stubborness and arrogance also at play. Resting on their laurels, & also thinking they can actually be a team when there's no competition for some jobs on the club. Some guys will be cursing under their breath. The FIFO era is over. Some folks need to be ashamed of themselves.
  8. OK, where are the liabilities? Other than the raw rooks ,the vets who are non-performers include Collaros, Fatboi, Kolo, Neuf, BA, Bighill, Willy J. There's a lot of salary stacked up in that group. That's why they are on the field. Even if they shouldn't be. If I recall, MOS played at couple years longer than he should have. So, there's a precedent.
  9. I thought the same. But then I thought down six point and driving with 2 mins left, they should at least get the chance to win. Too bad if the game is over.
  10. They must've thought Janarion was going to re-sign for peanuts and when he didn't - getting. returner an afterthought.
  11. No way to know yet if Janarion still has his magic mojo or if he's 100% after last year's injury. But man, I miss him. And Sheed too.
  12. Mitchell ain't fast enough, unfortunately.
  13. Well, they couldn't keep them both. But everyone could see Zach getting wobbly last season -and looks to be continuing ....
  14. Injured. Early.. And Deatrick Nichols out too.
  15. Oliveira a warthog. Augustine a gazelle.
  16. The arrogance of not letting your starters play in pre=-season is really handicapping this club.
  17. Too bad about Fox Haba and Nichols. Geez.
  18. Collaros mostly off target with his throws. He just does not respond well to any kind of pressure. Why they don't scheme to get the ball out quicker is hard to understand. And let's use Strev FFS.
  19. It'll take these new receivers a few games to figure out the waggle, the routes, the width of the field, 3 downs: Canadian football. I would like to see Chris Streveler catch a pass vs Ottawa, and some quick hits to Augustine and Strev to counter our questionable pass pro and QB with itchy feet.
  20. I would add lost-a-step-or-two Bighill to the list of ageing vets who are a liability out there, along with Alexander and Collaros. It's almost like the team feels hamstrung with those big salaries and figures they can't afford to sit them. Maybe if the result is a bunch of losses in the first half of the season they'll wake up and focus on mentoring and mixing in younger players.
  21. I felt sorry for the fans who showed up expecting a football game. Instead, they saw the result of hubris and arrogance - qualities that start with MOS. O'Shea has been lucky while in Winnipeg that he's had good assistants to cover his inadequacies. No one can miss his wrong-headed in-game decisions though, and they show both bone-headedness and arrogance. At least O'Shea admitted that he was responsible for the team's lack of preparedness. At least he has that insight. As for the players - Brady looks too jacked to be useful (Johnny Augustine hit the holes quicker) and Collaros displayed the old deer in the headlights panic of old. Castillo - who also missed part of training camp - looked to be blaming his Aussie holder for his poor showing. Not a good look. Bombers have no return game and constantly lost the field position battle. It'll be interesting to see how Dru Brown does in Ottawa and whether Janarion Grant has recovered from injury and lights it up for Toronto. I was sorry to see both those players part ways with Bombers.
  22. I predict Streveler will score. And Clercius.
  23. Agree there will be rust and obvious rookie questions for Game 1. But I don't get all the Gauthier hate around here. Guy is a stud, knows the system, and has good lateral quickness - plenty fast enough to cover receivers coming out of the backfield. Who remembers Gauthier running all the way across the field to chase down Marcus Thigpen to stop a Riders TD on a trick play couple years ago? Gauthier also has no trouble stopping the run. Besides it's a rotation.
