So at a time when Canadian talent and CIS talent has never been better - the CFL basically eliminates the ratio without saying it did... Jefferson, Bighill, Bryant - Imports who are now Canadians Wolitarsky - born in Canada grew up in states Canadian That means Gray, Jones, Thomas are now backups and possibly out of a job Why bother developing Oliviera/Augustine if you can sign a backup import RB and let Harris 'mentor' him until he's 'canadian'
-
Would you show up to work if your bonus was withheld?
-
That is garbage.
-
Make Lucic the head coach - they're going to have to buy him out anyway...
-
It just seems like a quiet way around the salary cap to sign your best three vets to be honest... You'd need a lot of injuries to start having to sign scrap heap players
-
This deal seems to just keep getting better from the players' perspective - higher base wages and option to get full-time work - option for vets to have salary cap exemption - opportunities for CDN QBs - health care three years Probably more to come...
-
They are NOT going to hire Tippett...??!?!
-
Has to be damaged goods... no way they release a healthy Saunders before TC

https://3downnation.com/2019/05/15/canadian-ratio-to-remain-the-same-throughout-new-cba/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter Owners proposed getting rid of the ratio completely ha... bogus bargaining tactic...
-
To me, this seems like a 'designated veteran' position... where you can pay a guy like Randle or Elimimian - keep him at a higher salary
-
Its three starters out of what 17 Americans...? Yes time to panic.
-
I'll admit I would have liked to see an Option Year or some kind of RFA deal for draft picks... like a five year window
-
Thanks Debbie Downer... Or maybe this is a way to pay players a competitive salary and keep them from jumping ship after 1-2 years
-
Or maybe CDN QBs will develop into starters eventually... and teams will actually put time and effort into that instead of just trying to skirt the rules... hmm.
-
So right now the Bombers are covered by Adams, Bryant, Hardrick, Nevis, Bighill, Jefferson, Fenner, Gaitor, Medlock... maybe Alexander and Wilson too? Not too concerned
-
I'm missing the part where this is such a 'bad deal' for the players... Watch every team suddenly have a 3rd Cdn QB by 2021
-
You get to start less rookie Americans... seems like a fair trade
-
Money Hunter and Hightower are very very solid DBs... that's a very nice group
-
This is actually a very well-built team... I think its Bombers v. Esks for top spot in the West REC is a bit of a question mark - but Daniels and Ellingson should open space for the others Really like their ratio - assuming Boateng keeps up his play I'd prob go 3 NI OL instead of 2 NI REC... even think of moving ODonnell back to RT Konar and Mulumba are expensive special teamers...
-
I just want to see one of the draft picks make a team's PR...
-
Pretty sure you can go 1-8 in the west and still make the playoffs... Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto will be tire fires this year
-
https://3downnation.com/2019/05/15/early-details-on-the-new-cba-arent-great-for-the-players/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter Strange analysis... basically saying not reducing the ratio is a 'loss' for the CFLPA... and that 1/3 of the players getting a $12k raise is also a loss
-
So... once... 😀 And kind of ignoring the Couture/Corney picks...
-
Now includes Germans and Mexicans...?
-
The problem is that the next batch of FA QBs will want the same deals... I could see Sask paying big for a QB... or teams will start hiding 'incentives'
