This is what's missing this year - the ballhawking... TJ Heath was deemed expendable for not being a 'team' guy and jumping routes... Gaitor shows up and finally starts freelancing... hopefully everyone else learns to ignore Hall's system half the time... big plays are going to happen no matter what - you need big plays the other way

Montreal, Toronto and BC are not good teams... Running with Streveler for the rest of the season - thru the ups and downs... with Nichols as a 'Kevin Glenn' type insurance... that's the best chance at a GC

I don't fully agree... 2015 RedBlacks was a very good example of recruiting good assistants - Jason Maas and Mark Nelson - BOTH of these guys I had REALLY hoped the Bombers would recruit - even Maas as HC actually was my preferred choice back then... He might be a psychopath but Maas was truly the difference maker that year Nelson's LB core that year was garbage but he made them look great

I'm actually worried with the coming bye week that we'll pull another 'Doug Berry'... Team was flailing in early 2008... so Doug Berry asks Taman to 'remake' the team - with Joe Smith/Fred Reid thunder n lightning... The team has a winning run in the second half... so of course Bauer rewards everyone by cleaning house... then Kelly cuts Joe Smith - back to square one (actually square minus 10... but whatevs)

Everyone I knew was mortified when he was canned... he'd brought us back from the scrap heap and then Bauer treated him like crap. Ritchie was too loyal to Khari that season but with very very good reason... everyone was hoping he'd recover from the injury. He didn't. Maybe there's a similar thing with Osh and Nichols but Nichols has done far less than Jones...

I don't remember ANYONE other than Lyle Bauer who wanted Dave Ritchie fired... Lots of people were after Doug Berry and Kevin Glenn... for sure I do remember all the hype about Tim Burke coming in to lead us to the defensive glory days

Agreed - and Laine needs to be on the top line... Just makes sense to have Connor-Roslo as the 3rd line Not sure who's on the right side other than Vesalainen though... Perrault could be an option if you did Little-Lowry-Ehlers

Nichols needs to sit and they need to give Streveler a full game against Montreal... a Stubler D is a great way for a new QB to get confidence - there might be some picks but he'll rack up yards If Streveler can become the game manager that Nichols was... and the Bomber D gets some ballhawking back with Gaitor and maybe Fenner... could be a crossover playoff run

The flats have been open in a Richie Hall D... ever since a Richie Hall D was invented... Lapo is a conservative hook/curl OC who tries to make up for it with gimmick plays - by Labour Day, every team in the league has figured out the direct snap to Demski

Trouble is that Lapo was essentially here to take over from Osh if it came to that... beyond him, there's almost no one who can readily step in for HC or the coordinators... Jordan Younger and Buck...?? If we lose to Montreal, I could see that.

I don't know - its an honest question... they probably aren't low paid coordinators - Hall would have surfaced on another team if we didn't sign him, he's another Stubler... I'm just bummed out about keeping Hall for another season and passing on Thorpe or Nelson...

127 yards in 4 games is actually pretty good for a raw rookie... that's a 500-600 yd season - I'm fine with that Wolitarsky will emerge as one of our starting SBs if he keeps up this pace of development - maybe 1000 yard guy in a couple years On another note, I'd say Demski has exceeded expectations... great signing there

Lots of focus on Osh's mistakes this year... but Trestman is coaching like a total rookie. Must be a mess with offensive play calling - Trestman, Condell and Calvillo - their game planning does not look like a Condell game at all... Wonder if he'd be interested in an HC position...?

Matt Nichols tried to be Mike Reilly this year and accidentally turned himself into Drew Willy. IF this coaching staff is in tact for Montreal, and thats a big 'if', Lapo needs to work with Streveler and get him up to speed/design plays for his skills... Nichols is done - crossover is still there but get Streveler on a roll... Nichols should not start another game Sad thing is that our garbage offence is taking all the spotlight off Richie Hall's garbage second half D
