Statsny still has a huge job to offset Ehlers and Laine's defensive lapses... keep them as third line and PP specialists - enjoy the goals
In reality, Ehlers-Statsny-Laine will be our fourth line when Lowry's back and we're in the playoffs
While I liked O'Dell and James Wright... those names just make me feel 100x better about our bottom six right now.
Heck, even thinking that we've gone from Burmi-Lowry-Stafford to Ehlers-Statsny-Laine as our third line is great...
Brassard also saying he would have waived his no trade clause... lots of people predicted that Winnipeg would become a lot more likeable once we started winning
All 6-7 defencemen are 'basically the same guy' - some have a bit more offence, some block more shots... but they're all interchangeable
And glad you know exactly what Maurice is thinking - reminds me of when everyone was trying to figure out where Quinton Howden was going to fit in our lineup
Babcock's departure is not the reason Detroit is a mess now... they're team is ancient
A better question might be - are Babcock and Quenneville the reason for their team's success or a result of a strong core?
Once that core ages or prices itself out of the market... they start to look pretty mortal.
I'd say they're basically the same guy. I really think he's here to give Poolman playing time with the Moose.
I'm not sure that the plan isn't to keep developing Poolman and give him the call up if there's an injury... maybe Morrow is more of a replacement for Melchiori (?)
If Enstrom was our third pairing, I'd agree... however, Kulikov would fill his role and Kulikov is a better player
Playing Kulikov on his off-side with Chiarot is bad, not good.
Every time he sees JSK, it probably just brings back the hurtful memory of Hurl turning back to Osh, one last smile - a knowing nod, before setting off, pack in hand, for the lonely Saskatchewan border...
At worst, he replaces Melchiori next season with the Moose... at best, he regains form now that he's away from the tire fire known as the Montreal Canadiens
