Not at all, in fact I've only pointed out only the positive developments in Canada for the past few weeks. And we were never shutting down the country for more than 1-2 months max. Two days ago, this board was adamant that we couldn't even consider that we'd need to think about the economy or that covid could end up as another flu - until someone in authority suggested otherwise ha... Yeah this is a tough one... was looking at another chart about how the covid death rate for compromised health patients over 70 is about the same as it would be for the whole year - just condensed. Definitely doesn't diminish the issue but I would like to see healthy v. compromised death rates charted - would be much better to target resources. I think one of the first things we should have done is address the care home issue - they don't have space to isolate until people die and free up rooms... even pulling up ATCO trailers for temporary additional space probably reduces the death rate significantly... It spreads 10x faster in care homes than in the general public. Almost half of the deaths are linked to care homes - should we not have most of our resources trying to contain that?

Scheer was still non-committal through the election; when questioned on specific ideologies, he wouldn't commit one way or the other and by doing so, betrayed his actual ideals. He's not the only politician to do this - but there was something unseemly. There's a vitriolic dogmatic hypocrisy in that party now that is too close to the American tea party. And no I'm really just against the neocon school of conservatism that spawned out of the Tom Flanagan wave of bullshit. It is on full display in Alberta now with Kenney being an attack dog against Trudeau a month ago and politely quiet about Trump's nationalist moves. At least Doug Ford is acting like he cares about Ontario more than America... As for cons, I would consider their positions if Ambrose was leader... beyond that I don't see a lot of inspiration.

I felt like Scheer ended up just repeating soundbites during the election and was nominated based on the fact that he was a harmless Harper with dimples. It was mostly the abortion non-committal answers that were actually answers... As for privatized health care? I feel like its been pretty open that Cons want a more privatized health care system - watching Italy (public) and Spain (hybrid) and US (private) will soon tell us how this all works compared to Canada...

I think Scheer was a fake smiling Harper puppet and the Conservative Party are corporate sellout losers who would have relied on a privatized health care solution too long... Case in point - Horgan was on top of covid far before Doug Ford made a move.
