Richie Hall NEEDS a guy with closing speed and anticipation like Wild... if Knox takes any time to adjust to the CFL game, Ray will make that side of the field pay - esp if Carmichael is given another shot
-
Not giving up - maybe his next two games are great... but I'd definitely be looking at contingency plans for the ratio - team seems to be pretty set on Poop Johnson at DT
-
At age 25, I'd say Tanev has probably hit his ceiling... might have some improvement driving play but probably not too much difference

Around the League - Regular Season Discussion (Redux)
Floyd replied to BigBlue's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Never understood why he was cut... he's been here for a while -
If Washington doesn't perform in the next couple games, I'd really start looking at two NI REC - JFG and Wolitarsky Then again, we have no LBs to replace Hurl anyway...
-
Did anyone actually read the first post? He's not saying the sky is falling, in fact, the analysis is pretty reasonable. I'm not sure why he has to 'calm down'? Still doesn't deserve its own thread though...

Gonna sound like a broken record... but Kyler Elsworth is still out there, I thought he performed really well with Montreal... has CFL experience
-
I would have hoped we'd have more talent than Tanev to sit in the press box... like Matthias or Sgarbossa...
-
Absolutely!!
-
You gave an offside to a guy who didn't play this week...
-
The easiest move is rotating Corney, Thomas and Ekakitie to fill your 7th NI - I'd really look at giving Corney major reps instead of Jeffcoat right now
-
I'd really like to see what Derek Jones can do at CB... seemed decent from what I remember Randle-Heath-Loffler-Alexander-Jones Then you can play 7 imports or rotate your NIs
-
So.... onside - pick a blue bomber... offside - everyone else...? ha

Richie Hall and Sam Hurl versus Mark Trestman and Ricky Ray. DL needs a big big game... Toronto is a pass happy team, if Ray has time, he'll be 400+ yards.

Sure would be nice to have Bass on this roster...

I thought Briggs played pretty well

Maybe I'm too anti-Rider... but Glenn got nailed hard more than a few times. Plus holding calls wiped out some Sask gains. They picked up a few stunts - but not many - Glenn was under pressure a lot. Difference I saw is that he stepped up in the pocket to buy an extra second while Collaros bailed. Probably time to put this myth about Glenn wilting under pressure to rest. The other difference is that Hamilton's D is a mess - no discipline at all.

I don't remember ever claiming that the game was not won and lost at the line of scrimmage. Howver, left tackle has a pretty significant effect on the QB's play. That post was in response to your point - 'any QB would play like Collaros behind that OL' - except Glenn had a crap OL and didn't play like that. Collaros has happy feet, Glenn does not. So, like Drew Willy, he is done.... or do I need to explain the concept of happy feet to you. Another typical mean-spirited post from a guy who couldn't remember what year Gary Etcheverry was our DC. Nice.

Sounds like the excuses we heard for Drew Willy. Kevin Glenn looked decent behind Sask's crap OL... granted Dennis was better than Fulton. But still, Ham was in his face all day.

Collaros looks done.

For years, Stampeders had John Murphy's 'database' and Hufnagel's son was working as an NFL draft scout - probably uncovered a few gems there...

Who cares if a guy is a beast in pre-season... I'm more concerned about the disconnect between scouting and coaching... i.e. how did Taylor Reed slip through this coaching staff, why did we develop Bass just to dump him, backup QB carosel - Apodaca, etc..., All the guys we thought were developing last year - Burnett, Greenwood, Posey, Duncan, Roberts, Sheppard, Frederick, Mayo, Green, Scott ... are gone - something just seems a bit off. There's huge prospect turnover every year - really its only Knox that has stuck around this year.
-
I mean he's had 8 years as opposed to 30 like the other guys.
