Jets drafting style has changed a bit since Hillier took over - last two drafts, Jets have been more focused on giant slower defencemen who are 'puck movers' not scorers... I would say that Hillier allows more 'wild card' picks by guys really pushing for a player - i.e. the Swedish mystery goaltender this year

Enstrom is almost always paired with Myers - they are a good pairing... Enstrom and Buff are not. On paper, they are but not in real life... But I'm also not in the mood to argue with 1000x reposts of the same point...

The problem still remains - if you sign Kulikov - that Enstrom and Buff have zero chemistry... never have. Kulikov and Buff would be a scary pairing - for both teams... they'll score but we'll have 3-4 breakaways against each game

Yah, the entire thread is you and Goalie repeatedly posting that Chevy is a genius. I understand Chevy didn't lose any players from a non-playoff team. He also didn't end up with Hjalmarsson or Hamonic but we seem to have Enstrom crap contract for another year and Chiarot got a raise. If you think Chevy had this guy at 13 which was basically a start of a run of 5-6 defence prospects, you're drinking too much koolaid.

Another weird first round for the Jets... give up top defensive prospects to keep Enstrom for another two seasons... then draft Armia 2.0 I'll trust the scouts but the last two years of drafting sure are different. Calgary, Edmonton both are better teams heading into next year... Jets standing pat.

Colin Miller or Shea Theodore are the only ones I'd be interested in from that list

No agenda here... I just think our 13th pick had more trade value than Dano, Armia or Petan Losing a $5.6 million contract frees up a lot of cap space to find a goalie and a young LHD... could afford Brendan Smith plus for Enstrom's contract Moving out of the top 15 really does reduce the value of this pick - I guess we'll see who we lost out on and then discuss I just don't see the value in giving away a top prospect to protect forwards that we already have no room for

Spin it all you want... this is pretty lame. Losing Dano, Lowry or Armia does not kill this team. Will still be a good defenceman at 13 not at 24. We'll be able to add another forward prospect... just like Dano or Armia... Instead of a good D prospect, we now have Enstrom locked in at an over-priced salary for another year.

So last year we packaged picks to select Stanley... this year we packaged picks to select... Enstrom. Yikes.

Yeah, but he was a decent coach in 2012 - as long as Joey Elliott was our starting QB anyway... Its entirely possible the Mack didn't consult with him at all with off-season personnel decisions - bizarre but sadly plausible.
