  1. Did you read the article? Its pointing out how the elite goalies all had shaky starts and went through some growing pains... We likely have 2-3 more years of Helle's development until its really known whether he's an elite goalie or not.
  2. I get it - you're going to defend the coaches until we get first pick overall. I get it. But let's reframe this. Why couldn't Flaherty fix Pavelec's game after six years? Why did Chicago let him leave while Corey Crawford was developing? Interesting note... Helle's college goalie coach seems to have worked in the low glove position to his 'positional' style... so maybe they don't want it fixed... maybe this is just a rookie goalie that needs time

  4. We should trade for Montoya so that we can call up Comrie
  5. Really? That's a serious question? Of course, he's noticed it. He just can't fix it. Look at Pavelec... same issues... Hutch's issues are deeper - with positional play... he seems to be regressing.
  6. Flaherty gave Al Montoya the best 28 games of his career and still gets no respect!!! Its an outrage.
  7. Man, I never thought of that. Helle is uncoachable that must be it. Like a new Evander Kane.
  8. Great goaltending analysis on H&L right now... Saying Helle probably should have stayed in the AHL for one more season - talking about 250 games in minors before bringing up a goalie... League noticed that Helle held his glove low from day one - everyone except Flaherty I guess... But also saying you need to stick with Helle now that he's been called up - if management is fine with rebuild, this is part of it
  9. Sad thing is that Coyotes and then a journeyman Blues goalie would have been the perfect scenario for Helle to bounce back... Instead it will mean Pavs stays up for the season...
  10. Trouble is the Jets have exactly the same problems as when they fired Noel... Goaltending issues, lack of consistent play, leadership disappears, still relying on top lines/pairings, lack of depth... This is starting to be on Chevy - there was a seven year plan to be a contender... not a 14 year plan.
  11. Wow. I guess I have his first season stuck in my head... there was a lot of talk about how he turned around Chicago's special teams... maybe not. Looking at this season, maybe Maclean will have tightened up his system after working with Boudreau and Carlyle...
  12. Dineen would fix our special teams pretty quick... Maclean is very good with developing young players... but he plays a pretty wide open system
  13. They can't fire him mid-season at basically exactly the same number of games and same record Noel had... optics would be pretty bad. At the end of the season, if Claude Julien shakes loose... that would be a serious upgrade. 1. Julien 2. Dineen 3. MacLean All of those are upgrades.
  14. Maybe Maurice isn't such a bad coach after all.
  15. The coyotes - and Mike Smith - completely collapsed in the second period. That's it.
  16. Pretty sure Wally is thinking the same thing... I think the only way Lokombo makes it to FA is if he's still chasing NFL
  17. Things are so bad that Frosty quit making the game day threads?
  18. Ducky you're back!! I missed you Yes, I was thinking of Duncan Keith. My bad. Now let that sink in.
  19. You realize that you are agreeing with a guy who obsessed about save percentage after every single game while he was trying to get Comrie on the team... right?
  20. The angry squirrel makes more than Brent Seabrook... let that sink in for a while. No way they can offer him another contract - now they have to overpay Trouba if they have any hope of keeping him. Chevy has really bungled the development of Jets' D
  21. 'Glenn, who is expected to emerge as the starter in Saskatchewan, would have commanded a contract similar to the one Winnipeg gave Nichols prior to the 2016 season to serve as the club’s back-up. That deal paid Nichols $170,000 guaranteed with playtime incentives paying up to an additional $150,000.' How was he presenting any of this stuff as facts...? Of course, he would be looking for backup $$ and, aside from Brandon Bridge, Glenn seems like the most realistic option for the Riders... better than the last claim that Huff was 'shopping' Tate.
