Sorry to break the news to you, but that is exactly the kind of GM we have... every other year, Chevy takes a flyer on a low-cost player or two... Stemp could easily have been that guy this year. Some years it works - i.e. Perrault - and some years it doesn't - i.e. James Wright... it would have worked this year I'm going to miss the Stempniak threads where as soon as you say something positive about him, someone blows it up into 'you think we would have won the stanley cup if we signed him??? HA!' Reminds me of the Jerome Messam - thank god we didn't sign him because he doesn't play special teams arguments...

2nd and a 4th round pick at the deadline equals future. Stemp plays instead of Thorbs, Peluso, Halishuck... this is not the future...
-
Interesting... trade market was high to start, tanked and then teams are overpaying right at the very last second... Can't understand why Jets would put Pardy on waivers on deadline day but whatevs

A 2nd AND a 4th for Stempniak... can't get a bag of pucks for Burmi I want 8 guys in camp on PTOs...
-
Chevy sure looks like he won the trade deadline... Hudler deal is close but Ladd deal seems to be the best so far Stempniak trade - let's see what NJ gets... Jets could easily have offered Stemp a PTO and a bargain basement deal

I totally understand it. It says Goossen is one of only three linemen who start six games in 2015... i.e. the 3 OL drafted played more than six games in 2015... what am I missing? What it leaves out is that there were only four OL drafted in the top two rounds, one was bound for NFL and is a long-term prospect... So, this stat just says that if you picked an OL in 2014, he played in 2015. (Lavertu 16, Player 9) Yay! The stat is absolutely meaningless. -
What a ridiculous trade. If Florida waits for him to get an offer sheet, they at least get a third round pick if he's even offered $1.2 mill.

The most tweets about a trade ever!!!

Just read this... I know its PR but this was funny... Finally, this season we are starting to see that development come to fruition. Sukh Chungh (2nd overall, 2015) will return in 2016 after starting every game for us last season at guard. To put that in perspective, and to highlight just how challenging that is to accomplish as a rookie offensive lineman, Sukh is one of only five lineman drafted in the past three years to start ten or more games in a season. Over one spot, Matthias Goossen (2ndoverall, 2014) will take over at centre after being drafted as a 21-year-old. Matthias is one of only three lineman drafted in 2014 who made a start (six total) in 2015. Meanwhile, Derek Jones had a career-high 15 special teams tackles (fourth round, 2014). An example of a what good drafting can do to help your club in time. Sukh Chungh - yes, very excited about him but most teams didn't need to field a rookie. Lavoie and Lavertu got hurt right away, Groulx and Beard played a handful of games... this just means the Bombers had no OL depth, ha. Mattias Goossen - only three linemen drafted in 2014 1st round... There were only four drafted in the first two rounds, ha!!! And one of them is in the NFL... Derek Jones - super excited about Jones... but example of good drafting? Because he's playing ST? Hartmann, Miles, Black - tons of late round draft picks play special teams... All this says is 'hey, look we're trying to run the bombers like an average team after five years of being a complete train wreck... have patience and someday we'll be 10-8 again.' NOW THIS GETS ME EXCITED... From Jesse Briggs Wikipedia ha Jesse Briggs (born April 14, 1990) is a linebacker for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League. He was selected in the second round, 17th overall, in the 2014 CFL Draft. Briggs played college football at McGill University. Jesse started the trend of long hair in football. Additionally Jesse once nursed a baby bird back to health and named him Derek. Jesse also started the trend of the single arm sleeve, most famously emulated by Robert Griffin III. Additionally, in an October 10th, 2015 game vs. the BC Lions, Jerry gained 11 yards on a 3rd and 10 fake punt run. After these late game heroics in a pivotal Western Division match up, coupled with a beautiful run in the Banjo Bowl vs. the Saskatchewan Roughriders, some have called Jerry the greatest fake punt artist of our generation. One spectator was heard saying, "his skills border on the supernatural," and another "#thekid moves the chains, period." -
Hasn't Chychryn already had injury issues? Sounds like Juolevi is surging in the rankings, sounds more like a D the Jets would pick Still think they go with Tkachuk if they pick out of the top three. Think Keller will drop because of his size... Tkachuk, Juolevi with Bellows and McLeod as wild cards

Nobody ever claimed Stempniak was a saviour... but what was missing this year was Chevy's annual waiver wire or low cost signing - Perrault, Stemp, Santarelli, etc... Jets got bit by lack of depth this year - then again, if we're in the playoff race, probably lose Ladd for nothing... maybe this was the plan

Fairly simple solution to this argument... sign a couple vets in FA. The presence of Stuart on this team has been for leadership for a long time, in the past, we've ignored his poor play. This year, he's really lost a step. Same with Pardy. Stafford and Burmi both have bad habits, they are not the vet leaders this team needs. Get rid of them. Yes, we are worse today... but this team hasn't ever been capable of being more than average. We had all our vets on deck for that awful run in October...

And around and around and around we go. -
Have a hard time seeing Chevy part with Myers... but Hamonic and Morrissey would be an epic pairing. With the Jets wave of young forwards, Jets actually could run with heavy $$ in D for next couple years... that Stuart contract is looking real ugly, worse than Enstroms but just barely. Wonder if Enstrom and Chicago's first would work for Hamonic and a B-level prospect (Sundstrom?)... Islanders have a little cap space Trouba - Buff ($13 m) Morrissey-Hamonic ($5 m) Chiarot-Myers ($6.5 m)

LA trading Ehrhoff to Chicago.... ??????

These guys are crazy!!! They list Dano as LW and Connor as a Centre...!!!
-
Little and Wheeler will still be here I think... need some vet leadership

I can't believe how guys get stuck on LH and RH positions... So we can't play Trouba on the left side because he's RH shot but we can't play Dano on the left side because he's LH shot... Once again... Hossa did not switch to LW when Dano was put on his line. Dano plays wing - right or left. And trade Stafford and Enstrom - problem solved. -

Really thinking he slots in on second line, might as well see what he's got... he has NHL experience and is a better option than Thorburn ESW Dano-Lowry-Armia Burmi-Perrault-Stafford Thorbs-Copp-Halischuk -

Perfect then... he played LW very briefly with Toews and Hossa Sounds like he's good with any forward position, maybe another Perrault? -

Only grade I would really change is Armia up to C+, by end of season I think he will be B+ Being picky... Perrault should be B+, Chiarot's grades are prob reversed and at on point in this season was Stuart a C ha
