Its a bit frustrating but Chevy 'grew up' with a team that ended up in serious cap trouble - after a few cups, mind you... feels like he's sitting back a bit and keeping cap space for the new guys... if he blows the bank on Ladd, then there goes that theory though Still think he picks up an FA or two by December... there's so many players unsigned that you will find a Stempniak-type easily if Copp or Armia don't work out. A bit surprised that he's letting Brouillette and Ellerby walk, would think they would sign for almost nothing... That being said, I think we just miss the playoffs by a game or two, lots of teams powered up in the division. Have to hope for some sophomore slumps in Calgary... the Preds to come back to earth... Dubnyk to remember he's just a journeyman... Regardless, Jets haven't made any additions that make me feel like we can compete with Anaheim come playoff time.

I miss the days when people complained about our D being dirty and arrogant.

Still comes down to Mike Gibson - only guy available to come in and 'help' right now... make him asst OC/RB Coach, move Buck to Strength & Conditioning

Handled internally.

3rd Down Nation: Bomber Thoughts: Tor vs Wpg
Floyd replied to iso_55's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Our OL has been crap since 2007... that being said, this year's team is the same old same old - some great talent and some really glaring holes -
Then again, Hamilton sure made Cortez look bad this weekend, Schonert couldn't figure out Edmonton, Crandell has no answers for Thorpe and Maas did nothing with his suped-up receiving core...
-
Watch the game again... Marve plays a different style in the first and the second halves - way more pocket passing in the second
-
Looked to me like Marve was more effective in the first half and seemed to be calling some of his plays or at least having more of a back and forth with MB between plays... seemed like he got a 'talking to' at half time and tried to be more of a pocket passer in the second half - didn't work.
-
And here comes the baggage... sorry Syd.
-
I hope Marve at least gets to use the excuse 'he didn't have a full week to prepare' now... they milked that for Brohm
-
Sign Jamel Richardson.

Wonder if portis comes back
-
Unfortunately Mb won't change his schemes to take advantage of Marve's skillset. Let's pray he learned after destroying Porter's career

Whats the lotto numbers this friday? This isnt a reoccurance of a previous injury.. He broke a bone landing awkwardly... Its not a 'broken bone', its the top of the bone... as in the knee... that was previously injured -
Bidding war for Crompton between us and Sask?
-
Doug Berry was also a pocket QB OC who needed a power back... same as MB except he's not using his RBs for whatever reason LaPolice isn't quitting TSN to be an OC with a backup QB The only solution I can think of right now is bringing in Mike Gibson to assist Bellefuile - yes... I know... but firing mid-season is tricky, we have no replacement and no one is out there At least, Gibson called running plays - maybe he can help bring out the best in MB. In the off-season, I'd take a long look at Crandell or Jones
-
Sign Jamel Richardson!

I'll say it again, we should have rested him after that first knee injury... this is Buck Pierce all over again - rush him back, swoon over how durable and tough he is, then end up with a worse injury -
Be careful what you wish for

Bucknor is not our biggest problem on D, Hurl is Rotate Lin-J Shell/Sherman and Turner/Thomas Leggett at SAM is an interesting thought, Sherman has the speed to be safety
-
Stoll signs for one year, 800k with Rangers... great value
-
Adams-Washington-Leggett-Johnson-Randle Bass-Littlejohn-Sherman Gibson-Collins/Anderson-Thomas/Turner-Westerman
-
Except that's Bellefuile's M.O. - he can be a great OC and call a really balanced game but then he retreats into this hyper conservative mode when things don't go well. Used to be 50/50, now I'd say he's 30/70... The first drive was really well planned... but just no adjustments after that

You left out the three TD passes... Once you realize that Ham offence barely had the ball in the first quarter, those are good numbers. Two of our sacks were only because Collaros was looking end zone in the last minute of the half Where was Hamilton on the field when those plays happened? Pretty sure they weren't reaching the endzone, even if they could have pulled Michael Bishop off his couch for those two plays. Watch it again... Collaros is looking to go deep and still had time in the pocket, on the second down, he eventually checks down but still was looking. can't recall many plays in this game where the pocket collapsed on him
