  1. That's the thing... Westerman is turning into the ratio breaker we were promised... and Bucknor is good enough that we don't talk about him anymore... that's two solid NIs on D - should only have to rotate Hurl, Thomas or whoever... As painful as it sounds, I would rewatch the last quarter to see how Greaves did at RT Bombers have always won with strong D and the run game - we're close, coaches will realize that.
  2. Positives DL is looking a lot better, Gibson looks fast Aside from one tackle tonight, Randle is looking good at SAM LH punting nice Cam Marshall - we have Thunder and LIghtning if our coaches want to use it... could be dominant OL is good when we're aggressive, sat back too much in 2nd half Lots of film to send to the league ...um... Entertaining watching Hurl tackle guys super high and then try to body slam them ...um... And... we lost way worse when Burke was in charge!
  3. Bob Irving said that Edmonton has a very good defence...
  4. Word was that Elliott was punished for being a 'loose cannon' and not following the calls... sounds like Marve.
  5. Its Bellefuile that's the goat... its now two seasons of teams knowing that he will turtle if they send pressure. MB calls a good half every couple games now, the rest of the time, its just garbage. Its like watching Barresi. The other problem is this irrational loyalty to Cdn players... at one point, I'm sure I saw Richards-Kohlert-JFG-Pontbriand and our three OL on the field. Inexcusable.
  6. Walters traded a pick for Brohm based on Bellefuile's recommendation... Bellefuile is Miller's guy
  7. The team gives up when Brohm comes in...
  8. Same challenges... Offence Get some screens and playaction working early - get cotton and marshall in the game... if not, MB will go maxprotect and Edmonton's DL will have a feast Defence Collins needs a big game, Edm's interior OL is soft; Bombers really need a sack from Randle or Bass... ST Lirim and Stoudermire just need to execute Should be a good game
  9. 22 Canadians on final roster...? Or does Burnett make it and we sit two Cdns? Still starting 8 cdns with some packages featuring 9... are Veltung/Gordon that bad? Might as well be featuring Cotton/Marshall on every play
  10. Noel Thorpe is the difference in Montreal... not Higgins.
  11. Gretzky was huge but the Oilers did change the game... same way early 70s Flyers did and then LaFleur Cdns did. If CFL wants a faster, higher scoring game, let your fullback get a free illegal block after the whistle on anyone who hits your running back or receivers... worked for Gretzky and Semenko.
  12. I feel like 'it is what it is' is kind of a cop out.
  13. I agree but its Reinbold and then Kelly that really were legacy killers. Inexperienced coaches (buddies) and gamble on a new QB talent... Difference is that we fixed Reinbold's mess by hiring Dave Ritchie, an experienced head coach... that worked. After Ritchie, its been a string of Asst Coaches who are given a year or two to succeed then replaced with another Asst Coach We need to give OShea a chance but it might mean waiting another two or three years. It is what it is. It surely is what it is.

  15. Hate to pile on... but Pat Tracey coached both Walters and OShea... Then again, ISO seems to be agreeing with Friesen... http://www.winnipegsun.com/2013/11/13/bombers-need-to-be-bigger-and-bolder-than-hiring-kyle-walters-and-khari-jones Mind blown.
  16. Its funny, I remember the mid-1990s as being crappy bomber teams, now I realize that 9-9 or 7-11 would be considered a success now. Lyle Bauer's legacy is destroying the bombers not once but twice... still trying to shake the stink off, years later.
  17. Why do I have this feeling that Shomari Williams will end up as a bomber...
  18. I think that's the biggest takeaway for me... Richie Hall was mixing in more man coverage and is clearly adjusting his defensive plan - really like that. Surprisingly, he's our most creative coach right now. Would like to see him send Bass or Randle on blitz a bit more but I think that will come. If we had Wild in the middle, this would be a dominant team. I think that's the biggest takeaway for me... Wild was not the solution to stopping the run, how soon we forget. Wild consistently read plays, had closing speed and could get to the QB... its not his fault Etch didn't think the run game was important.
  19. Good article - http://montrealgazette.com/sports/football/cfl/jack-todd-the-cfl-is-living-up-to-its-name-as-the-canadian-flag-league It is pretty hard to watch games this year. I'd rather go back to the old days of being outraged by missed calls rather than losing my mind over fluff calls.
  20. Are we talking bombers or this forum?

  22. Seriously, it seems like kicking converts and kicking field goals are different mind sets... and we all know kickers are flakes. Some coach will figure that out and go with two different kickers. Convert percentage is way too low for that distance.
  23. The world and especially sports cannot be viewed so such a black and white version of the world. There is a plethora of grey area to consider IMO. I guess my larger, over arching point is that this is still a sports league, where championships matter. No championships in 24 years, compounded with a really poor regular season record has left me with almost no fuse left for this team. And it sucks because I recognize that this club has improved and we're 2-2. So what's your point? 'Points' aren't really Resurrection's strong suit.
  24. On the last FG sure, but missing that convert after the offense puts 6 on the board to respond to Calgary's only big drive of the game is unforgivable. That is his fault, and only his. No one seems to be calling out Paredes for missing a convert...
