and without a running QB. Marcel like Lapo really need a mobile QB as a threat to make their offences work consistently. MB loves pocket passers... but he also loves screens and hitches, so its surprising that we seem to have backed away from that. But, if I can watch a game and have a pretty good idea of what MB is about to call... I'd say Stubler or Hall have a better handle on it. MB is a predictable playcaller who has relied on a superstar RB-SB type to make up for things. Grigsby is not that guy.

Willy, Randle, Turner, Wild, LH, Stoudermire Everyone else can potentially be upgraded...

I'll pass on Jarious Jackson... he's just getting his feet wet as a coach. We don't need another learning curve.

I think a lot of this stems from MB's inability to move the pocket or to sell playaction... he was having some success early in the season but teams have caught on and, as MB has always done, he has retreated to a more conservative offence as the season progresses.

I would still take a look at Mark Nelson, still like his style, he just doesn't have the talent in Ottawa - would have taken him over Etch Joe Paopao would be a good candidate for OC. Nice CIS contacts. Chuck McMann would be an interesting OC or even DC... that guy gets a lot out of his players, pretty understated coach Jason Maas has always been an intriguing coaching prospect as well.

We were in on Stubler and couldn't seal the deal. I am sure that was Oshea's preference... Pat Tracey was and is a legit coaching prospect for the CFL - will be better next year. MB - after Lapo and then Crowton we wanted experience over Khari... We knew what we were getting with MB - and thats what we got.

Just as long as Buck is not promoted...

Offer Turner and Washington to Toronto... that 'might' get us another first... or maybe a 2nd and John Chiles

A strong receiving core makes the OL instantly better. Nah, it doesn't when the qb is hurried or on his back all game. Can't go thru his progressions or reads to find the open receiver. When a qb doesn't do that it doesn't matter how good the receivers are. A great OL is the engine that drives the car. Great receivers are the hot paint job. A great OL wins grey cups... but you can only protect so long unless someone is getting open... you can't have one without the other. Moore runs a nice, crisp route - Bryant does not... that is a huge difference for us right now.

The fire everyone versus not enough depth argument is interesting... Wild goes down but instead of playing Kromah, we play Kuale - this is the coaches decision not a problem with depth DL keeps rotating through Louie Richardson, Ameet Pall and even Jake Thomas even though none of these guys are quite good enough to be a starter Moore goes down and we plug in Bryant and are content with the results Grigsby goes essentially unchallenged for the whole season

So glad we are having the Labatte debate again.
