  1. He did, but he kept breaking, Willy just doesn't break. He gets hurt, but he stays in the line up. Willy might be tough....but he breaks just like a little girl. Yes, he does. You remind me of a Rider fan. Sorry. That is the enigma that is Bob Dylan. Here's another Bob quote. He used to be greeeen but now he's unseeeen and noooobody knows why he's bluuuuuue. I've got more. I thought it was funny.
  2. Critical mistake trying to get Willy back into the lineup... Feels like we are about to sacrifice a grey cup in a couple years for a win this weekend... Flashbacks of Buck limping out to play and everyone insisting he's fine
  3. Who's playing instead of Fulton...
  4. redblacks is already abbreviated from REDBLACKS
  5. OL problems are scheme as much as anything... our double TE formations are very conservative - sometimes Pontbriand or Fitz can bust out but other teams don't seem to respect our max protect. Took a long time for MB to start moving the pocket... and even now its just here and there. Grigsby - again, he has problems with blocking... I missed the last game but I haven't seen much improvement over the season, sometimes he blocks but at critical points in the game, he will actually back away at the last second and leave Willy hanging... Willy hanging!! Personnel - definitely that's an issue... at the end of last season, it seemed like our tackle position was settled, now its more than halfway through the season and we're still trying to find the right mix. Neufeld trade starting to look like a mistake, Goossen is unfortunately nicked up but has huge potential... Settle on January-Greaves-Morley-Knapp-Jones and things instantly improve. Improve enough to compete? Not sure.
  6. Why discuss what's proven ... it's the unknown that is intriguing Oh I agree... but let's discuss JFG's potential to replace Watson for a whole season or moving Kohlert over the Kelly's spot... at least we have a sample size on those guys.
  7. Can't hang it all on Wylie, Walters shares the blame... not as much NI competition as I hoped It also feels like we overthought things this year... OL was almost 'decent' by end of last year - Jarvis Jones is still a great talent at RT but instead we tinkered with Knapp and then Howard Thought Neufeld should have got more of a look at RT if its not Jones... We replaced Morley with an RG that plays just like Morley. Grigsby lost my support sliding off too many blocks and leaving Willy hanging... Willy hanging!!! Yes!!! Starting OL should have been January-Greaves-Morley-Knapp-Jones
  8. Would rather see JFG used as an FB/SB than either Pontbriand or Fitzgerald... 6', 220 is still big enough to block Over-valuing unproven talent thread is pretty much right on schedule...
  9. What are six games of Westerman worth? A late round draft pick? Neufeld and a fourth for Westerman and a 2nd round pick...
  10. Westerman is a huge NI talent that is sitting on the bench just for 'old school Wally' reasons... If we have passed on him, then Walters needs to take a step back - huge upgrade over Thomas imo... and I like Thomas.
  11. Too bad for Hall. Get Thigpen in here asap. Sounds like Hammie signing Hickman... a DL has to shake loose there soon
  12. If Willy is still healthy, bye week is a nice break.... with our best player out in the middle of a 1-5 slide - I would want at least the offence here getting Brohm up to speed.
  13. Hammie shuttin down Allen and Messam pretty well
  14. An unpopular opinion around here but I agree. Watson doesn't have very much time left, between his constant injuries and decently high salary I don't think he'll be here for more than another year or two. IF we could get a second rounder and a backup Canadian receiver for him, I'd pull the trigger on a Watson deal. A desperate team like Ottawa with a foolish GM might be willing to overpay for him. This makes no sense. I understand being frustrated that a player has been injured, but why would we make a deal that almost certainly makes this team worse? I think you might be overestimating the ease in which quality Canadian receivers can be found. Wildly overestimating. Here's a trivia question for you - of all the receivers drafted in the last two drafts, who has caught the most yardage (edit: this season)? answer - Carl Fitzgerald, Winnipeg Blue Bombers, 38 yards. Anthony Coombs: 22 receptions 214 yards, but I agree with your general point Oops. Forgot about him, being out for the season and all. Actually I probably overlooked him because he has a RB instead of a WR next to his name. I should have caught that since Fitz is kind of a trick answer anyways, everyone thinks of him as a fullback, not a receiver. Yeah, sure, I'll argue that he doesn't count cause he's not a receiver. That's it. This is a total red herring... Haidara is a huge prospect that is just in behind some massive receiver depth in BC Nate Adjei has had some game time this year, must be ahead of Fitz
  15. Wow, freep suggesting that he could play this weekend... joke is officially not funny anymore. Scary.
  16. Dad? Is that you? Because I feel like you just took everything from my last post, agreed with it but somehow reworded it to make it seem like we're arguing...
  17. I just want to apologize on behalf of Blake Wheeler for suggesting that Kane could be a leader.
  18. Guess you'll just have to wait and see how many guys they add to the PR when it expands. PR has nothing to do with an 'airlift'... you know that. Airlift is bringing in starters - every year the PR expands after NFL cuts Find a situation where a good team (we are over .500) brought a CFL rookie up from down south and put them onto their roster in the 2nd half of the season in this decade (2010s). We did last year because it was basically an extended 2014 training camp and we basically lost our entire OL at one point so Knapp and Jones got tossed to the wolves. Just doesn't happen. Why? I'm not arguing in favour of an airlift... airlifts are for losing teams. I wanted DL, Walters signed some - if Hall was available, bring him in but it doesn't seem that way. I'd rather see JFG than Bryant and Kromah instead of Kuale but aside from DL and RB, I'm not worried about our personnel. Again, I think its more MB and Etch influencing Bryant and Kuale's playing time than anything... plus some residue from Burke and Mack's lack of respect for vets - forgive Oshea for being gunshy... trouble is we just ended up with the wrong vets this year.
  19. Um, we just signed four DL... and have three receivers on the PR The only mistake we are making right now is having too much loyalty to some players - thats quite likely MB and Etch's influence more than a real slight on Walters

  21. Briggs is bigger than Cornell
  22. This whole airlift debate is funny... An 'airlift' is bringing in one, possibly two, NFL cuts. Every year, the guys who argue against it overblow things to be 4-5 guys... this just simply does not happen. A DL and a power back would make a difference to this team... like the way Chad Simpson did when he was 'airlifted' in... or like the way Stoudermire and Kromah were 'airlifted' in earlier this season. Signing guys mid-season helps - hopefully one of these DEs are already in town... now I just wish we would find a Thigpen. This season reminds me a bit of 2007... and I would say this team has the most potential to win the grey cup since one - way more than our 2011 crew. Edit: Wait a minute... Simpson wasn't airlifted, he was just injured... anyway you get the point.
  23. Not sure he got credit for the one Dunn recovered... should have though.
  24. Temporarily? Both were already a long shot at 29 years old... NFL dream is dead - Dressler should just sign a nice 3 year contract at 190k and be happy. Starting to wonder about Hall - no room in Sask anymore, pretty much Ottawa or Winnipeg... maybe not Winnipeg anymore with these last three signings He reportedly signed a one year deal here. He's probably done with the NFL forever at this point, but contractually he has left the door open to try again in a few months. He's a great receiver but he doesn't have a realistic shot of landing a job down there. That one year deal was Taman buying time so he can think of ways to hide money... Dressler will be a roughrider til the cows come home.
  25. This just made my day.
