So, you're agreeing with me? Its hard to tell... Last four games are huge... Edmonton, Calgary, BC, Calgary... probably with Cornish and Lulay back. But they are huge for all western teams... either head into the playoffs with huge momentum or a losing streak. Glad we have a bye on that final week.

Do you think Cheveldayoff is doing a good job?
Floyd replied to Atomic's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
No anger issues at all... did you see an angry emoticon? More like bewilderment emoticons if I could find them... just trying to figure out what point you are arguing. So... two free agent signings would have improved the top nine of this team after all. Or are you fielding a lineup that will not make the playoffs...? And I see you traded Buff. -
I said we were a well-coached 3-3 team... and that our QB has the 'it' factor. There's your two main differences. This is all true and not nearly as 'negative' as some posters want to make it out to be. Look at the roster - our talent level is very similar to last year... exception being the DBs and our kicker. and our receivers. and our offensive line. They're both making a world of difference. I always welcome the discussion but your opinion this time around ... Seems like you're outsmarting yourself a little. If in the off-season, if someone predicted that Steve Morely would be one of the better centres in the league? What would your reaction have been... Or that our starting receivers would be Kelly-Moore-JFG-Denmark-Kohlert... this lineup strikes fear into exactly no defence in the league. (And we didn't last year either...) Would you have agreed that we wouldn't miss a beat replacing Alex Hall with Greg Peach...? That Ejiro Kuale could step in for Muamba? Coaching and having a real QB... that's the difference right now. We will find out in our last four games of the season either way.

Is Kent Austin the most "hated" coach in the league?
Floyd replied to IC Khari's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Austin's problem is that he's a rookie Football Ops/GM/Coach... Nine other coaches and no Quarterbacks coach - it is eerily reminiscent of the Mike Kelly regime here. And, um,... 'Asst Special Teams Coach/US Scout'... wtf Not enough coaches for the type of team they are fielding. Basic. -
I disagree.

I'm lost here... earlier in the thread, you say we are 'more than two guys' away from being a legit playoff team and then you say all we need to do is fix the bottom six and that Halischuk is a good depth signing. So right now we have Ladd-Little-Frolik Kane-Scheifele-Wheeler Buff-Perrault-O'Dell(?) Halischuk-Slater-Galiardi I would have kept Jokinen because him, Buff and Wheeler had some chemistry late in the season. Jokinen would have stayed and signed for only $500k more than Slater. Would love to hear your actual suggestion instead of your complaints about other posters imaginary theories... -

Rotate Watson, JFG and Kohlert... like we do the DL guys. Probably don't want Watson starting every down right away

You could try providing an opinion once in a while instead of getting your panties in a bunch about mine. As for 'who has Edm beat'... well, us for one. Edm lost the Calgary game because Jones is a very good coach who thinks he is the world's greatest coach. We won two games against mediocre teams on the last play and got destroyed by the best team we have faced. Edm and Calgary defences are the best in the league. To me, that means 'real deal'. And yeah, they could easily be 3-3 as well...

Injuries have really impacted some of these teams... last six games will be very different from the first six. Both Owens and Cornish will come back with something to prove. - Can't see Mtl or Ham going on a run any time this season. - Ottawa needs to find a receiver for Burris - or have they run into cap trouble...??? - Bombers are a very well-coached 3-3 team - Willy and Reilly have the 'it' factor, jury still out on Collaros, DeMarco and Mitchell... Smith, Beck and LeFevour don't - Edmonton is the real deal despite Jones' ego - Sask, BC and Toronto could have a late season surge... or late season overhaul - Calgary might look for a trade (a la Taman 2013) to win the cup

Chevy is doing a great job drafting... I do think letting Jokinen go was a mistake - we had capspace for $2.5 million and honestly, that rate is fine for a fourth line centre... would rather have Jokinen as our backup plan than Slater. Perrault is a very nice signing, Galiardi - meh... As for signings... the worst thing we could do is bring in Dustin Penner - we already have him in Byfuglien - don't need two over-sized underachievers. Del Zotto would be a great addition - I think Maurice could really get that guy back in form As old as he is, Handzus is an upgrade over Slater. Would look at Jamie McBain, Bissonnette. Glance at Leino and Sarich. Could be value for low $$... or cheap healthy scratches. -
I still say that we're going to start seeing rookie contracts jump straight to long-term contracts... wouldn't be surprised if Trouba jumps from $800k this season to $6.5 or 7.5 for seven years... Unless Trouba hits sophmore jinx, then it will be hard to offer him a $3 million bridge contract if he ends up with more ice time than Enstrom/Bogo.
-
Going to have to ante up for Trouba in a couple years...

Tell me that Toronto/Montreal game was not one of our showcase games on ESPN...

One question - is that an adjustment that the Centre or whoever is leading the OL can make on the field? Or is it pretty much set once its called in from the sidelines

Time For The Als To Hire Barresi As OC
Floyd replied to USABomberfan's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
First mass firings... then Popp's starts trading - Brohm for Edem...ha? wonder if we have anything to offer -
Might be only six wins to make the crossover this year...

Woods will take one to the house next week.

Say what you will about Smith and his inaccuracy, think he still gives them the best chance to win. I seen enough of Brink over the years and his noodle arm and he makes Dan LeFevour look like Dan Marino, Montreal is done if they go with him. Marsh, well he's a little better but his decision making isn't too crisp. Think a better question is who will be the Als Offensive Coordinator next year? Who will be the OC by Game eight?
-
TSN pumpin' Toronto's tires for getting a TD before the half... except 80% of those yards were a roughing the passer, ha
-
What do you know... Brink still sucks.
-
Agree - surprising but after this game, I am actually less of a fan of Grigsby than I had been. Felt like any advances he made in his all-around game were forgotten once his number started getting called

There are 'Willy haters'...?

Comparative analysis - How bad is the Bombers OL?
Floyd replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I thought he was better than Neufeld... seemed to have a lower centre of gravity. If anything, Greaves was a bit rusty. Howard looking more comfortable at RT. I would keep this line together, could be rock solid. -
I'd probably take Greg Carr over Chris Matthews...
