The Dell thing is really weird. Sure called Jaymar Johnson's number a lot in pre-season just to cut him... Why we kept Dumas, Howard is beyond me Thought Moseley played better than Fraser Can't believe we're not offering Renaud a PR
-
Well look at that... Etch's D performed better than Steinauers' star-studded crew...
-
Why OL Coach when he played D-Line? Because I can't type.
-
I was waiting for the annual Idonije thread... 33... he's made his money, doubt he would play for $180-200k... Now, I could see him as an OL coach in Wpg... someday.
-
But they all occurred while he was playing slot...

Anything happening with this? I see TSN's fantasy league is up

That's a bit of my point... do we want Watson blocking? Or hope that a third import SB or Pontbriand can fill that role... Why wouldn't we want Watson blocking? He hits like a truck, when he sneaks out after blocking he is an excellent threat and why put a slower, reliable guy on the outside when you can put a home run sprinter hopefully with good hands or a huge target with good hands? Just seems like change for the sake of change... Also, Watson loves the physicality of his spot.. Hard to block from the IR.

Surprised that Knapp is getting the nod - Jones played well last season and neither him or Knapp really grabbed the job in pre-season... hope we keep Jones around, I didn't like what I saw from Knapp at RT last year.

We gave up a pick for Brohm and McManus obviously recommended him... he's not going anywhere. Common sense says Hall...
-
Anyone think there is a chance we move him to WR? He's pretty critical to our ratio... Moore and Denmark are our best slotbacks right now - maybe Watson would be better off outside of the traffic... I think he was WR in Unversity but can't really remember him lining up there in the CFL...
-
We can go through depth if you want... suffice to say, everyone has better depth than we have behind Jake Thomas and Graig Newman... In fact, (and I like both of those guys) they would be depth players on pretty much every other team in the league. You can bring up Ryan Lucas if you want but he wouldn't even make it on most rosters in the CFL... I think KW is doing a decent job, but its a long haul to fix Mack's mess - we shouldn't be overlooking anyone, even if they are stop-gap measures...
-
'Not fitting Etch's scheme' is apparently the new 'he wanted to play closer to home anyway'....
-
Kolton Browning is a very cool name. He is my new favourite quarterback. Scrambler, sounds like his playaction is pretty good, 3:1 TD to INT... not bad - has taken a lot of sacks, maybe he's used to playing behind a crappy OL... Looks like a hot-cold kind of guy...

Aside from Shologan, mbrg is right, those are all "grass is greener" type guys. Phillips, Gott, Fraser and Eppele are all bandaids and if we don't value guys like Watson because of health issues, those guys should be judged similarly. You're entitled to your opinion. Eppele, Fraser and Philips would absolutely upgrade our team - I think they overpaid for Gott but he is a proven OL and has exp at Centre, better than anyone we have if he's healthy... which he has been for three years now... not grass is greener at all. In the off-season, if someone said, do you want to start Steve Morely at Centre or Jon Gott... I wonder what the answer would have been...
-
Huh, it seemed to me like Hickman would totally fit into Etch's scheme... as much as Peach does anyway. Also waiting to see one of our DL actually drop back into coverage - maybe I missed it, maybe we were running vanilla schemes too...
-
Would think Moore and Watson are the slotbacks... if Watson is hurt, I could actually see JFG and Kohelrt at WR.
-
I think you hit the nail on the head... sure looking like Kelly will be our Chris Matthews replacement.
-
Shologan, Philips, Gott, Fraser and Eppele are not mystery men. Deane and Lavoie's health are question marks... but so are Watson's, Neufeld, Alexander...
-
You're listing starters, not depth, but nonetheless there are a few guys in your list that seem pretty grass-is-greener type players. Harris is obviously something we don't have, as is Westerman, even though he's not really a starter in the sense that Doug Brown was a starter. But he's better than Thomas, the guy we'll be starting. Gore? I don't have him as better than Watson. Ianuzzi? Not much to separate him from Kohlert from what I've seen. Valli? I wouldn't want him at all, and I think BC doesn't badly want him anymore either. Last year Norman would have been valuable to us, but now patience on Goossen will accomplish the same thing. Ottawa picked up a bunch of guys who were unprotected because of iffy health. Maybe they are healthy enough to go and last the whole season. Hindsight in November will give us the answer on that. But I still wouldn't put that bunch ahead of ours. That's just a collection of mystery men. We don't know what value they have until they finally get a chance to show it. The Bombers are weak weak weak when you compare them to Calgary, but compared to some of the other bottom feeders, we're kind of in the same boat. Gore is like a Watson that doesn't get hurt. We'll agree to disagree on Ianuzzi and he returns kicks (something that people often overlook, haHA). BC also has Steward and Player who I think will turn out really well. If you like JR LaRose and Parker, you have eight starters. I'm not saying that BC, Ottawa and Edmonton have great depth... just better than us.
-
Edmonton? Maybe if both Coehoorn and Chambers are injured... Now that they are going two imports on the OL, they are deep. Hinds is looking really good, DonnyO has about five or six DL competing for one spot on the line.
-
Hickman-Laurent-Bulcke-Boudreax would be scary.
-
BC has decent NI depth - Westerman, Gore, Ianuzzi/Haydara, Harris, Fabien, Norman, Valli - two or three OL prospects - deeper depending how you feel about JR LaRose Ottawa is the only team close to being as lean as the bombers... but Shologan, Philips, Gott, Eppele, Deane, Fraser, Carter/Lavoie are a pretty good starting seven - even better if Eppele plays RT and they start four on the line. Ottawa has really nice DL and decent OL depth. There simply are no teams with worse NI depth than the bombers.
-
I don't mind Kelly... but he's like Renaud and Dunn - way better in practice than game situations.
-
Some smart signings. I'd say Stephan is on the bubble now.
